  1. SHOULD, But really if you are there, get more, its good if you die while Pking at lower level before you reach my suggested Pk start, I pk with 20 attack 22 strength and 33 range, I only range though lol, I still havent died!
  2. Welcome to my Guide. This is Version 1.0 This guide is for Range/2H pure training but the moneymaking can be used with other pure types also. This guide will help train that pure from combat 1-40 and I will expand on this also. It will also teach you the basics of making money in F2P and P2P as a low level pure. So let's get started. Starting out. The Tutorial will teach you how to play. I hope that you are reading this and know how to play but I wont go into depth on how to play the game here. So, once you have reached Lumbridge I suggest you head right to the guy that gives out 2 EXP lamps, giving.....250EXP Each! It helps a lot. Now you have a few options here. But I might say, most people don't know about this guy, just offer to kill the dragon for him and he'll be all like "Yo Dawg, thanks but no, here ya go" Sorta.... :A: Ranged EXP (500 exp gets you to level 5 and almost 6) :B: Mining EXP (again level 5 almost 6, this is useful because you can easily start mining rune essence) :C: Keep the lamps for later Whatever you do, DO NOT USE ON ATTACK EXP!! NEVER!! Alright, you need some money, so head out to the cabbage patch, there is a small one in Varrok if you walk in from the southern entrance. Grab about 20 Cabbage and head tot he Stronghold Of Security. The questions here are easy and if you get them wrong no big deal, I really just pick the longest answer most of the time and that usually works. Once you reach the very bottom you should be able to collect your nice 10,000GP rewards and 4 new emotes, plus those fluffy boots we all love! Yes we do! Good, now that you have 10,000GP, head back to Varrok and the Grand Exchange, do the small Tutorial for this, and buy 1,000 Iron arrows. Go to the cows with your arrows, also you might want to grab some ranged gear. Cowl (better than an Iron full helm) x5 Leather Vambraces x5 Studded Chaps x5 Leather Body x5 Power Ammy x1 Yes this runs over 10,000GP but thats what you should get throughout this guide. and every single kind of bow F2P players can use, put your stuff on and go kill some ducks!, yes kill them until about 5-10 ranged. Next kill cows, you can simply do this with 1 defence from the outside. You can do this technique which works quite well. NOTE: You should kill 5 or 6 cows then run in grab your arrows and hides and run out. Checkpoint 1 Congrats. By now you should of gotten some basic equipment and a bit more money from cows. You should stop training on them at 20 ranged. Now take your money and head out to the Grand Exchange. Grab about 10 Trout from the Grand Exchange and go do the Vampire Slayer quest. VERY EASY just a tad bit of walking. The Guide can be found here: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2quest_id=51 Once you complete the quest, you will have 20 attack, this is the reason for NOT using the EXP lamps on attack or training it before. This method is very helpful and guess what, with 1 strength and 20 attack you can hit...2s! (with mithril scimmy at least) So now you should buy these items: Mithril Scimmy x2 Power Ammy x1 (you should get another so now you have 2) Mithril 2H sword x2 Mithril Pickaxe x1 Steel Pickaxe x1 Iron Pickaxe x1 Good job, move on to Checkpoint 2. Checkpoint 2 Your on your way. Now if you saved the EXP lamps or used them for Mining, good job its what I would have done too! If you saved them, use them now on mining. Next you will want to complete the very easy quest : Rune Mysteries, guide here: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2quest_id=1 Easy enough and a good guide all thanks to Tip.It. =) Good, now mine some Rune Essence until you get about....1,000 Essence, it doesn't take that long, and you get a good mining level, or 20, Sell this essence and save the money, NOTE: you can mine the ess if you get bored doing cow killing, so don't think just because I said get 1K ess, do it all at one time....Make it 200 ess trips! Anyways. You now are on your way to being a good pure. Read on for More! Checkpoint 3 Keep it up! Alright heres where training gets tricky.... I personally found that I wanted to get 20 combat to go to PvP before I got 20 strength, so I just trained range until level 30. Although...you can go another way I don't recomend it. At this point you should have 20 Attack and 20 Ranged and Combat 13, Now, thanks to Tip.It you can check your combat calculations with the combat calculator found under the sidebar of the main site under Special Calcs. Check it out, it can help! So for now I suggest you kill cows until 30 ranged. Once you reach 30 ranged you should be combat 20 or close to it. Now head out and kill some more cows but this time use that Mith Scimmy and train strength. Until level 20! Now that you have 20 strength it seems like a good time for another 2 EXP lamps! Go to the Stronghold of Safely and use the Jail entrance behind the building to get in, talk to the guard, read ALL the doors plaques and go upstairs, take the test, take your lamps, use them on strength, good now your level 22 strength! Head back down to the cell without a door and go into the poster, go to the bottom level and find the level 8 cockroaches, kill them for awhile with strength, they drop runes, coal and other good stuff for money. After 30 strength head back out. You could also kill the Muggers but I wouldnt, they dont drop as well as the Cockroaches. But remember where this is, it wont be the last time you come here. Good Training Tip! The gnomecopters complex, a very underestimated area! Head over there with 100GP, trade with the General store gnome and buy spinach rolls, a really cheap training food, coming in at 1GP each they heal 2 health. I think you will find that taking these with you helps because if you dont use them, its not a waste of money. Hope this helps. Checkpoint 4 You going for money now! Now we are going to focus on money because I think we are doing pretty good with combat. Money, a very important thing in the life of a pure. Alright, money is so very important, so kill some cows, but that isn't great money at all! So you want to either go :A: P2P and kill the cave slimes :B: Mine Runce Essence :C: Decant! Well I am trying this last thing myself, my friend suggested it so I might as well go for it. Many people who have a bit of cash need...a strength potion right? So they head right on out to the G.E. and buy one. yes they buy 4 dose strength potions for MAX PRICE! So why dont you jump on the bandwagon man, get going! Go to the G.E and buy ALL the strength potions (1) (2) and (3) doses you can, for the LOWEST price you can! Once you have an investment in this, grab them in your inventory and go to the herb guy at the G.E. and ask him to "decant" them, he makes them all 4 dose (if there's enough there) Then go back with your (4) doses and sell them for MAX PRICE. It works, it just might take a little time, while you wait go train combat or mine rune ess or something. Anyways, its good money. CAUTION: Market can be very dangerous in this buissness, this is for people with 40k that they can lose 10k of it, not for people will little to no money! OR you can fill vials with water. Really F2P sucks for money making but for now, just stick to killing crap...you get enough money really... Now back to combat. Once you get 50 Strength and 50 Ranged you should get 40 Attack! Getting 50 Strength and range though isn't that hard or easy. My suggestions: Go kill little cockroaches till 30, FOR BOTH SKILLS THEN go kill the lesser demon in the wizzards tower with range until 50 and kill some scorpions for strength. Yes I know not the best ways to train but I find them to be pretty dang good and no as boring as some others. Alright keep going, when you hit 60 strength and range (and 40 attack) you should be about combat 45-50 at this point I suggest that you get 25 prayer. Then PK. YOU WILL NEED: 200-400 Lobs 2 Rune Scimmys (optional, this is just in case you run out of arrows or something) 2 Rune 2H 5 Sets of Ranged Gear 5 Power Ammys 20 Strength Potions (4) 500 Addy Arrows Good luck, I will make a part 2 for going farther but it will be in P2P not F2P NOTE: I am still working on this as you read but I am posting this now because my power is on and off....
  3. No, NOT AT ALL, at the time, Melle > Range and is = Mage in most ways. Because as it stands you can either teleblock a person or you can barrage them, not both with the same spellbook, you can bind but that doesnt work perfectly. One thing you will find on a PvP world is most people are either: Range + Melle Melle + Mage or Range + Mage I am just saying that Jagex should either give more content to rangers/magers because lately they have only made good items for melle. I think that range should be where it is, just give a better weapon, like dragon claws, that is really exspensive! Because right now, Melle holds 60% of all combat content, or around there, and its just not fair!
  4. Alright. Let's see! I am a pretty good Pker in my opinion, and guess what, I do use a Dark bow and other ranging items. I have NOT done DT and I do not have 85 magic, I do however have 80 ranged, 78 magic, 71 health and 53 prayer + 40 defence. Now, I am combat 73, I am not complaining about any of the above. What I am complaining about is this: The unfairness of Melle to Range and I might put something about mage in here later. Anyways I have discovered that Dragon claws, yes they cost a lot but most players (myself included) could get enough money to buy them within a few weeks) they have a few specials in them when the bar is full, not sure if its 2 or 3 or 4, seeing as I never use dragon claws because both my attack and strength are under 10! Anyways, Dragon claws cost a lot, yes they do but like most dragon claw Pkers, they carry the claws and maybe a set of rune armor, so if they die they lose like....200k, because I have never, EVER fought a stupid dragon clawer that when I turned smite on didnt run, they suck in my opinion. Now, you can say I Protect my dark bow. Yes I do! They are now up over 1,000,000GP and going up more every day. So you would think, oh if he protects this 1M item I can protect my 30M item (or w/e the D claw price is, again I don't check it) Anyways, it's still unfair. I personally know that I have never once died in an actual battle that I started with another person who agreed or a battle i jumped in on or the other person never agreed to. NEVER, yet I have died many times. Each time I lose: 1x Rune C bow (10k) 25x Dragon Bolts (e) (123K) 25x Dragon Arrows (81K) 1x Black dragonhide set (15k) and various items in my invontory, usually about 30k. and my avas device....a pain to get back. for a total of.... --------------------------------------- 259K Now, I agree its not too much right? Well the fact is this. I am tired of the stupid mellers. MOST mellers have a DDS and maybe some armor or not, but they always use a super strength pot, and they always PJ! I can not remember how many times I have killed somebody or been fighting, im hitting 40s and they just eat a lot, i have 45 HP because they arent fighting me, then some idiot with D claws or a DDS comes in with 80 strength and a super pot and hits a 20-25, its very unfair. Mainly because they are using a 60,000 GP DDS (which i think arent even that much anymore) and they basically lose 20k if they die in food and a pot or 2, its so unfair! plus the fact that rangers and magers both use ammo that they dont really get back. mellers dont use ammo! VERY UNFAIR. So now most people are going to PJ, especially at the G E. Now what I really think is the worst part is the specials. DDS has 4 in 1 bar. Dark bow...1 and then another after a bit. so in the time a D bow ranger can hit 2 specials with 80 ranged which equals out to....about 124 damage, a simple DDS pker can hit....around 270 Damage, in half the time actually. because, D bows are 2 times as slow as DDS's. How do i figure this: D bow max for me with 80 ranged and pot (no prayer) is about 62 DDS max is around 60....difference of 2 damage. D bow is half speed so....big thing there. THEN take into account that DDS has 5 specials in the time a d bower can get out 2 So D bow is half speed of DDS (yes it fires 2 arrows but 1 pop of 2 arrows is about 6,000GP) so if you fight somebody and they DDS you its very unfair. not many people can eat sharks faster then a dds can hit 4 specials, if lucky the player hits all his hits as his max, so I say give the D bow 3 Specials in 1 bar and give rangers a new item, shoots 1 arrow, 15% better then D bow, 4 specials, like DDs, hits twice. And hits at speed of a magic short. It's only fair!
  5. This post is pure fail. 50 Damage special? How much special does it take too, I mean really man, if its 2 specials, you can go Pking and be like hi! then hit a 20 with whip then special with that thing 2 times! thats 100 Damage from 2 specials, maybe make it not always hit a 50 but a bit more powerful just not too powerful....you still have very bad rewards...
  6. NO F2P PLAYERS SHOULD NEVER GET SKILLCAPES! Actually they really should =( but I did read your entire post including the first line, you should make sure people read the SECOND line too! Hehe, but I support.
  7. Really, are you kidding? First of all it might not even be a reward but think of it, how many people REALLY have there houses in Al Kharid, not many....My idea is also that with 80+ fishing and 70+ construction you could build a pier room and catch fish eggs, they would give you a random fish and after like 1,000 fish that you have fished they would run out, it would be a neat thing that people could have in there house, they would own their own fishing spot.
  8. Have you ever wondered where Jagex should expand to next? My idea is this: Bandit Island. Map at bottom. Located to the West of the Desert Bandit Camp that you can get to by going through Shanty Pass, the island was once an alive and ecomically stable area. The islands main economical income came from fishing and the warriors that lived on the island, the dungeon below gave out good rewards for the higher skilled warriors that ventured to the depths below. Only 22 years after the island was first inhabited, the Bandits inhabited the camp on the shore across from the island, the only way onto the island was across a bridge which the Bandits wasted no time ripping apart. They next built a makeshift boat and went across to the island and offered to take the towns people to the shore for a fee of 10,000 gold, the warriors fought the Bandits but they just left, the fish were running out and after a year and a half the mayor offered a total of 1,000,000 Gold to take the total of about 100 citizens across. The Bandits agreed and once the citizens were gone the Bandits wasted no time. The Bandits bought supplies and built a large wall around the town and raided the homes, since then the town has been unoccupied for years. The Quest: Required Levels: 40 Construction 60 Strength 50 Smithing 20 Fishing Ability to defeat a level 107 monster I MAY make these requirerments harder, and I may make you have to do other quests to complete this one. Not sure yet. Quest start: Go to Falador and talk to the real estate man, he will tell you that there is an island that is worth a lot to him and his brother (his brother is the Mayors son in the quest), and if you help him and his brother they will reward you nicely. You can find the Mayors son in Al Kharid near the Gate to lumbridge. He will tell you he needs help. Your mission should you choose to accept it, get to the island without being detected and get enough weapons from the hidden dungeons store room to supply enough men to attack the Bandit camp. Once you have the weapons you must get yourself off the island with them, this would be much harder because you need a larger boat to get them back. Once you get the weapons to the other side the men are waiting to take them and fight the Bandits away. Once the fight is over the Mayors son will ask you to help them rebuild the bridge that led to the town and help rebuild the town itself. You will need some planks, gather enough planks (10 should do) to help rebuild the bridge, bring 15 nails for each plank for a total of 150 nails, rebuild the bridge and help the men get to the town. Once you reach the outer wall, take your spade and start digging a hole, like the one you dug before and dig a route under the wall, once inside you can open the large gate which lets the men inside. The Mayors son will inspect the town and decide that some tasks must be completed before the town can be inhabited again. Task 1: The Bank The Bank seems to have sunken into the ground on one side. You must first go back into the dungeon and constuct a brace to lift the bank back up to the surface. (60 strength required). Once you have completed this, you must collect enough dirt to make sure that the Bank stays where it is. Get 20 buckets of dirt (dig in the dirt pit on the south-eastern part of the island) and fill in the hole around the bank. Task 2: The Furnace It seems that the furnace has degraded. You will need to re-build it! OF course regular metal will not work because it would simply melt (like the ores your smelt in the furnace!) You will need to make a new metal. Take 5 Iron bars a 2 Granite Bars to the Mayor, he will tell you that one of his men is a master smelter and blacksmith. You bring him the supplies and he tells you that he will need a mage. Go to the wizards tower and talk to the head wizzard, for a small fee of 10,000 coins he agrees to enchant this metal if you bring it to him. Go back to the island and get the sheet (which now has granite in it for strength) and bring it to the head wizzard. Give it to him and the 10,000 coins, now you will have an enchanted Granion sheet. Bring it to the master smither and blacksmith. He will tell you that he has injured his right arm while repairing the roof of the General store (your next task) and so you need to install it, he gives you a special mallet (the tar mallet and you install the sheet. Task 3: The General Store The roof needs to be fixed. You will need 10 planks and 20 shingles. Gather the planks and install them on the roof with 150 nails. Next you need the shingles. You can go to get swamp tar or get it another way. once you collect 40 swamp tar, take 5 planks and cut them into small planks using an axe of any sort. Once you have the small planks, use the swamp tar on them and you get shingles, a total of 20. Go back to the island and you finish the task by installing them on the roof. Task 4: The Fountain For this task you will need a spade and 3 sections of pipe. You can get pipe by asking the master smither for a pipe mold, each pipe section needs 3 iron bars. Get 9 iron bars and make 3 sections of pipe. You should now head down into the dungeon and venture into the middle, here you will find a Giant. Kill the Giant (level 107) and take the key from his corpse. Open the gate that leads into the small room that has the pump for the fountain, you will need to empty some of the water out of the room, take 5 buckets and fill them with water. You then will need to take the pipes and hammer them into place on the well that leads to the fountain. Now the water flow is running again and you have finished this task. Task 5: Fishing! The Mayor asks you to go to each fishing spot around the island (there are 8 in total) and use a net to catch fish from each one. Bring them back and put them in the towns fountain. The towns fisher will then watch them and make sure they are all edible, not a hard task at all. Task 6: The Pier This is the final task. You need to repair the pier for the South-Western part of the island. Go to the wall and open the gate that leads to this part of the island. Use 10 planks to repair the pier and go back to the Mayor (again you need 150 nails to repair the pier). He will tell you how thankfull he is. Quest complete! Quest points awarded: 3 Other rewards: 5,000 Gold 10,000 Construction Exp 20,000 Smithing Exp 5,000 Strength Exp 5,000 Fishing Exp Access to the fishing spots around the island. Access to the PoH portal (yay, you can build a house on this island!) NOTE: The PoH building area is an island and has water around it. Tell me what you think! I will be adding more, I am thinking of a new thing for PoH's and I think fishers might like it. [hide=Map]YES, I know it isn't perfect but neither is MS paint. [/hide]
  9. Indeed, I have some maples now but I need more cash, willows dont sell fast, I got 2 obby rings for some of them, but they dont sell fast either. I am hoping next time I log on I will have sold all my willows! Right now I have already done 1/50th of the work for 99FM in..2 days so I am on track, he hasn't gained 1% but I started at 0% granted I was most likely close to 1% already, anyways I am double his pace if not more, hes a great friend though and I know how hard range is, I hated getting to 79 and I am almost to 80! By the time I reach 99 FM I really hope I have these stats too: 80-85 range 80-85 magic 70-75 health 99fm....DUH 60-70 defence and maybe even 80 fletching or 50 construction, depending on how long this 99 takes me I might go for 99 fletching next. On that note I am burning about 1,000 logs or more every day I get on, so at like 138 exp per log thats 100,000 logs from 1-99 which equals at 1,000 logs a day, 100 days, but some days I will not burn and others I will burn more, I really, REALLY hope to get my 99 on my birthday which is June 16th! I will wait to get the 99 until them and I will keep you posted on party details, I will be barrowing this whole time trying to make some sideline cash, and hopefully I can get some funds to build a really nice house for the party. Thanks for the helpful words and I hope I don't give up, I really think that this is going to go faster than I thought.
  10. Yeah I might do that when I hit 70, I don't have all that anymore, I got like 1.5M left + willows lol, so 4M total, and I burning right through it lol! Thanks though, I am trying to get 1k-2k logs burned a day, not too many that I get totally bored but enough that well....I get good enough EXP! BTW: I will be building a new house just for the party, hopefully I can afford to spend up to 5M on it, I will be doing barrows this whole time when I get bored of FM. AND eventually I will do some Pyre for money =p
