I have tons of memories to post, as do we all, but my favorite has to be when masks dropped. I started playing in early 02 and was completely oblivious to holiday drops. I remember training prayer at the big bone spot when all of the sudden I saw green masks everywhere. I had no idea that they were worth anything at the time but still buried whatever bones I had, ate my failfood, and picked up every green mask I could find. The only reason I was up because I stayed up the whole last night playing runescape, fell asleep after school until ~midnight, and woke up to play - you guessed it - more runescape.

Zezima will be most famous to newer players but I can't see anybody else being more famous than bluerose. No ONE player ever controlled the entire game like her. Nowadays when a new skill is released many people hit 99 around the same time.

When I saw the name I was expecting a list of random rs2 players who probably didn't even start until 2006 but instead I got this nice treat. Feels weird seeing some players like "pirahna" who I distinctliy remember (was a ~46 with very high if not 99 mining in 2003) but forgot their name over the years.

I remember 2 close friends talking about it for some reason and I ended up going home to try it. One of them quit like 2 weeks after that and the other one 5-6 years lol.

My RSC memories are fading but wasn't Blick a ranger? Of course a ranger always has a team. What's the use of a solo ranger? Ya she was a ranger. She didn't fight because she had [cabbage] stats (66 def, may have even been ranged impure) but she was ALWAYS with a ton of people. thats because almost everybody wanted to be in her team :wink: Eh, no idea why... there wasn't much difference between 85 ranged and 99 ranged at castle. I usually just switched worlds since the only fun thing would be fighting her but she always stayed maxed distance.

Really hard to say for me. I had a bunch of friends that I pked regularly with at castle/later rocks but some of the ones that stick out are: Low Fighter Tha Champ 311 Deaths Da Killmasta Leet Fighter Adaga I'm sure I'm forgetting people as 5 years in college getting [bleep]ed up has hurt my ability to remember.

If you don't mind me asking... how exactly did you search for the ranged hiscores? I tried searching runescape.com and going from there but it seems to be "blocked" from the wayback machine. I'm just interested to see how I also faired in the ranged hiscore list over the last year or so before rs2. Also, does anybody know how to access the old tip.it archives if they're still around? I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and want to see if I can find some old stats/pking pictures from 2002-2003.

Why is it that every rs2 product says they've played RS since it came out when they overlook very obvious flaws in their statements. Namely you thinking members came out after 2003. No macroers? I'm sure a couple of those mass bans were for giggles.

I think the graphics of rs2 are much worse considering some of the beautiful looking games that came out in 2004.

I doubt 99% of rsc players went rs2. Obviously outside of wilderness/combat system rs2 is going to be a better game because it has much more to do but the pking aspect of rs2 was always terrible but hit rock bottom at the end of last year. Knowing you don't have the freedom to kill whoever you want or be able to pk at any other levels other than 52-55, 95-100, and 120-126 on f2p makes it terrible. Low level pking was one of the most fun things of rsc. It was very very cheap to pk under 30 combat and almost everybody had a pker around that level and nobody was afraid to lose a mith 2h. Seeing high hits in f2p were entertaining since people could hit 31 (maybe 32?) with the best wep but nowadays they only hit like 25s with the ugliest weapon in the history of the game.
