  1. no, but IIRC The formed in another game and migrated to Runescape when it opened.
  2. 3. There is a reason why the authors of that paper (yes paper seeing it's an academic paper ;) ) stated that "If you are interested solely in the outcome of our study, please see the conclusion section at the end of our article." When I do research assignments for my uni i look at the abstract, intro, **maybe** the discussion & conclusion. The complicated bits are for fellow researchers wheres the easy bits are for the rest of us :)
  4. ah, ok thanks.. yeah I was under the impression that i would be like the crystal saw... my bad
  5. I posted this on the RS forums as well... ok in the knowledge base it mentions that certain familiars give an invisible level boost... so back when my hunter was 70 I tried using a kyatt to hunt Imps with the magic box... and it wouldn't let me. Was I doing something wrong? I mean, my understanding of an invisible boost is that it would be like the crystal saw... so would be glad if someone can help out.. thanks!
  6. When cutting the wilderness Magic Tree, have the Forinthry Bracelet equipped, if you want to negate the effect of being teliblocked... it has helped me escape revs many times on various activities a number of times
  7. It also depends on the monster... For most monsters scimmy is better.... but a dragon has a stab weakness, so a longsword is better there ... though it has been a very long time since I used a scimmy or a longsword so feel free to debate this ;)
  8. Because they don't. WoW is the only mmo game with more paying subscribtions than runescape (and they are so far ahead no-one will ever catch them). Check http://www.mmogchart.com/Chart1.html. and in my eyes WoW doesn't count from my own *personal* point of view as they started out with an initial player base even before the game was released due to the warcraft series ;)
  9. well we are already using it to access the net with no problems... I was just worried about if using the same modem would cause any problems on RS... and my modem is a Thomson Speedtouch 536
  10. Thanks for the replies people : though it seems I had indirectly triggered a flame war :|
  11. Hello there My brother and I were planning on playing Runescape at the same time with the same modem, One computer connected via ethernet and the other connected via USB. Is there any possibility that this may be mistaken as Multiple Logging- in? I know the Knowledge Base states two people playing from the same house is not against the rules but can us using the same modem (and therefore same IP address) cause problems? Thanks for your help!
  12. one note about the price... the hardback is worth that much I think? And I noticed someone say that as the author is unknown it must be rubbish... but... all well known authors were unknown once... and, don't judge a book by its cover. I probably will get the book just to see what it turns out like, though personally I would rather prefer something that covers the early history of RS. Besides... if Warcraft can have novels based on it, why can't Runescape? And I am sure not every warcraft have read the warcraft novels so if a lot of people don't read this, still no problem.
  13. yeah well and you will end up behind everyone else eventually when you go back to training other skills so no point
  14. Confirmed? Show me the screeny or the QFC please... :-s "It's my favourite members' skill that I've helped to release," says Mod Mark ^ From Development Diary ^ He meant the bit about where if you go on a f2p world when calculating your combat level summoning will be ignored...
  15. Jagex had made radical changes to pking in the past you know. Like, in the early days, you could pk anywhere... but then they just restricted pking to the north... did people get angry? yes. Did people quit? ofcourse. Did runescape get better because of this? yes! with all the new players no longer being killed early and regularly there was a reduced chance of them quiting. So Jagex has made big changes again... are people angry? yes. are people quiting? yes. Will runescape get better because of this? can't say BUT with jagex's resources no longer wasted on fighting RWTs they can now put more attention to developing this game. Before criticizing the updates i recommend we see what happens over the next couple of months.
