RuneScape Information

  1. i love you for this topic it resonates with my own feelings i am 99 slayer, i do have a firecape. when i was slaying most slayers had a firecape due to its advantages - you take everyone you can get non firecape owners at this level are usually down to a dislike of jad (not inability to do) or giving up after a couple of attempts jad with todays equipment pots food etc is relatively easy, a lvl 93 slayer has made piles of money to do this (unless they bought their account perhaps) slow connections and disabilities were predominantly made up excuses to try to influence jagex without saying in truth - i cant be bothered to do this if jagex wanted more staffs they would make these campable, they would make the tasks more readily available either by increasing chance directly or indirectly by allowing more blocking for higher levels incidently i havent had an ice task yet as i blew all my points on getting 99 i absolutely love the way that jagex are linking the game more - they did it with skills and quests - why not other content
  2. views on merchanting need to be more balanced manipulation is bad - although you can make a short term less greedy profit on it. to avoid the harm dont except items it trade that are obviously merched up maybe an article on step by step how to spot a merched item now merchanting is good as it actually creates a stable price, as items fall (as they will do) it is merchanter that step in and buys up the excess thus creating stability for many items
  3. just throwing it out there manipulation is bad agreed but merchants do have a place as they buy up excess products and create a more stable price
  4. read times as soon as it came out - was very confused by avansies, disagreed with fundamentals of pvp and the attitude of prayer. started to reply and would have been 2nd post but thought - no it cant be that bad i must be tired lets not set a negative tone and quit my response. prayer is a combat skill if you have it use it, simple as that, if you have more of it than the other person, well take advantage of that, if the other person had a higher attack would they brew down? I seriously do not see an honour issue here and to imply otherwise imo is ridiculous. agreed format wars or DM's are different for obvious reasons. Im sure people will disagree with me and thats their perogative, call me a noob for my point of view if you wish, im relaxed as i know im right  avansie belief issues have been totally covered in other posts. my view on KS - if i want to keep it ill fight for my spot, i generally dont steal others unless they start on mine or are greedy and take an unfair nuber of spawns. to be fair the spots i use are usually slayer spots and slayers generally treat each other well. to be contentious i view it as different when people camp for cash, these are more fair game to me. slayers are set a task complete it and move on freeing spot for someone else this isnt the case for campers PVP effect.... so the price of dfh is effected by pvp / drops? was a dfh really that good and so many people wore it OR was it used to manipulate forum trades in rares and 3rd age. consider dfh price rises dramatically from 20m to 50m, 3 get traded for party hat plus some cash, price of dfh crashes to 20m = 90m profit on phat - repeat (yes over a lengthy period of time i agree). with PVP prices have been affected yet again by merchants rather than drops. my issue is with the values used, pvp drops will have had an impact but not hugely, the steep downward [bleep]es imo are merchants taking advantage of fear, lets see what the next 2 months does to the trends. rant at jagex - my issue with BH PVP is that the rewards do not reflect the risk - in all other aspects of the game the rewards reflect the risk / effort involved. the maximum rewards gained from each kill should be more closely tied to the value of the items the loser lost. why do people think BH PVP is great - because of the rewards. fortunately a lot of the rewards degrade or can be alched out of the game so dont crash the market - check out the price of a lot of barrows (0) items and compare to high alch -tip it item search makes this easy, wonderful tool thank you tip it. by all means have a 3 times more likely drop of a dfh - if the loser was wearing one or items of equivalent value.
  5. for me BTS was like a christmas day - full of anticipation for the coming month - however i was also relaxed to understand things happen to projects, expect the unexpected, and slippage is likely. i understand jagex's point of view but dont necessarily agree with it however ill reserve judgement until the next DD comes out and we see what it gives us
  6. one of the best did you knows i didnt know thanks Ddraiggoch06 farming has always been a pain - pick drop or if its worth something bank -ill start using allotment patches again now and my herby runs are much simpler
  7. if i can ill be there - unfortunately not the best weekend for me but ill try
  8. as has been mentioned gravestones help against rwt as you cant pick up your "rwt friends" items. equally this means your real friends cant help you if you die when playing by the rules, jagex had to make a way of you being able to get items back because you always were able to - well potentially anyway. its rare that jagex takes something away from us that we are used to benefiting from another to add to the list of places that are difficult to get back to in 5 mins is pheonix - ok yes it sounds stupid that pheonix killed me but my graphics card reset when i took pheonix on with half prayer and lost my void.....Noooooo id rather have lost cash  can you beleive it happened again same place...... i now take on pheonix with full prayer as i kill it and get dumped outside with all my stuff still \ death is still serious where it ought to be
  9. id like it to open up new lands east or west
  10. i view the quest cape as comparable with a skill cape, easier than some and harder than others. getting a skill is not necessarily just grinding away (i appreciate some are at various stages) but skills can have other dependencies to make the achievement more efficient - eg quest rewards boosting exp rates or supporting skills. for the quest cape you need reasonably high level in a multitude of skills and the same is true for efficient skilling. is the slayer cape equal to the quest cape or fletching cape in awesomeness - not in my book i rank slayer first and fletching last in this example i recognise you can buy some skills just like you can read and follow a guide blindly - but that doesnt mean the person you are demeaning has. for the majority of my fletching (to 96 then got bored and left it for 18 months until completed) I cut logs, picked flax, spun bow string and fletched - does that make my fletch cape nooby, not to me it doesnt . i did pretty much buy my cooking cape although i also managed to make an awesome profit on it so i feel i have the experience of a bought skill, several worked hard for skills and my quest cape to base my comments upon. i actually rank my 81 herblore achievement above my cooking cape as its taken me longer to get and i did more of the growing herbs & collecting seconds myself. i know you wanted a debate for and against but im personally sick of the arguement its equal, get over it and respect people rather than dis them
  11. ambitions for the year - some are easy - if jagex bring out higher achievements in a skill ill train some higher eg farm and herby 99 prayer, 90 slayer, 96 mage, 85 farm, 90 craft, 99 hunter, 99 thieve, 99 range, 91 RC, 78 agility, 90 summoning - all others at least 80 and a happy new year to you all
  12. guideline for me 70+ is good 80+ is high 90+ is very high 99 is awesome 99+ is daft unless your making cash - i dont get wanting 200m cooking exp - (looks at own hp exp and kicks himself for not doing slayer sooner) :wall: however as its a guideline not a rule theres latitude  70 could be considered high for a lower lvl who hasnt been playing long - after all with RS lvls are predominantly related to time spent. so for the original example i would have asked the lvl 3 how long they had been playing and perhaps let that influence my response, anyway i doubt i would have got in an argument over it as they were clearly proud of their achievement and should be encouraged - that said i might have if they were rude, theres always two sides after all, even if the person you are arguing with is clearly wrong
  13. thanks for the advice - it does seem that lending a gs out is a good way to get rid of junk gained from other sources otherwise its a pain not worth the effort oh well at least while typing this i got dragon legs from iron dragon slayer task \
  14. i have an AGS and am considering lending it out, all the polishing costs money you know! dumb question time so if i lend it out it seems i can make 100-150k per hour but im guessing i will have to to the majority of trades in junk, so whats the best junk to use as i assume i will have to use the balance of my / their trade limit in junk. I dont have any junk in my bank many thanks in advance
