    RUNE RAGE

Are you playing a female character?
  2. It' s a game. God damn it, you log on to chop some wood, mine some coal, kill some monsters or butcher the English language battling other players. You do it for fun, not to live in a game with dragons and goblins and magic. Yes, it was better before in some way, but that' s because it' s the past. People like to look back and say "Man, it sure was good back then". Look out the window. Now remember how it was 10 years ago. Remember? Computers sucked, dial-up sucked and phones sucked. The ball and friends were your way of having fun. Now computers rock, optic cables give incredible speed to internet surfing, phones are a TV, computer, phone, browser and radio in one magic box. And friends? Log on to MSN and chat with them. [bleep] the ball, [bleep] the bike, all you need now you have at home. Remember when you went door to door asking people to come out and play? You would get 9 of your friends and you would play hide and seek, football, war or anything you could think of. Now all you have to do is buy a game, go multiplayer and play anything you want. And what, you' re just going to piss and moan about how life was better before? Well no kidding, but life is good now. And you think Runescape is different? Before the graphics sucked, training skills was slow, but you could always get some friends to do it togheter and make it great. Now you can do it all by yourself and it' s still fun, just like you can just stay home and play your computer all day. It' s changing like the world, just the community is getting more spoiled. Just look at Omnia, or iPhone. Why the hell would anyone want that? You have a computer at home, a TV in your living room, interent comes with a computer and so on. Why would you want a small overpriced mobile phone-MP3-TV-browser-radio in your pocket. Can' t people live without keys to bash on or screens to tap them? As you can see, they can' t. And if life is easy, then games must be easy too. Grow up, suck it up and play the game. If you don' t want to play it, then you can still live it. You' re going to anyway, but you can piss and moan about how it was better before or you can enjoy it. To sum it up, it was good and bad before, it' s good and bad now and guess what, it' s going to be good and bad in the future. Runescape will change, I' m sure that it' s going to break out of the Java shell and become a full internet-free game on a CD someday and people will piss and moan how it was better before, but they will still play it and when Runescape will eventually come to and end those same people will just go and find another game to play and piss and moan there how the past was better and how the present state sucks. Simple as that, no need to make a huge rant out of this and throw feeces at each other, just so you can gain an inch or two on your IPS (internet penis size). Just, play the game. If not Runescape then something else, just don' t waste time on a forum saying the past was better and how the present sucks. People have been saying that since the dawn of man, you are no exception, but you don' t have to be a part of a mindless debate that leads nowhere. But, who am I kidding. I' ll get flamed at, booed at, someone might say he agrees with what I say, but most of you won' t even read this and keep on bashing each other. But I don' t give a damn, I' m going to kill some roaches to make some more geepee' s and then I' m going to bed. I suggest you find something to do on Runescape and enjoy it like you did before.
  3. Not like they would be taken from members. And there are suggestions for much uglier capes, with no benefits, just something to show a master' s degree in a skill. And why does it bother you so much if we get something. You' ll just get 5 times more and 10 times better than we do, so why do you concern yourself so much. And besides, F2P generates around 450 000 USD a month, judging there is about 1 million paying members and memberships generate 93% of monthly profits. 7% is 450 000 USD then, do the maths. And access to the forums is only availabe at more than 12 million exp. And even now that we have access to the forums, we' re just being flamed at for being F2P. Wow, what a breaktrough.
  4. like you could repair barrows armour past 100? I think he' s reffering to non-degradable items. Sharpening an axe to increase woodcutting speed, or a pickaxe to increase mining speed. Sharpening a scimitar before battle seems logical enough. Sharpening your arrows aswell. Magic would be left out of this though, maybe give magic an empower option. I like this idea. Let' s say you have three stages of sharpening, one at level 30, one at 60 and one at 90 smithing level. The first give a 5% bonus to all weapon stats, the second 10% and third 15%. At 99 you can sharpen "legendary" weapons such as godswords, sharpen the [bleep]es on the Whip and even sharpen or mend barrows weapons. This wouldn' t last long, let' s say 15 minutes for level 30, 30 minutes for level 60 and 60 minutes for level 90. And you can only sharpen once every 60 minutes, so technically you can always have a sharp sword when you achieve a very high level of knowledge as a blacksmith. Mending degradable items does not however prolong their lifespan, only sharpens them a bit. This also applys to corrupt aswell, but does not make them last longer. Also, you could let' s say repair armour, in a way. Hammer out and smooth dents, repair slash marks and arrow holes. Polished or repaired armour would increase the same as weapons, 5, 10 and 15% boost in all stats. And let' s say, once you smith a sword, it' s blunt, so you must sharpen it, giving you extra smithing experience, let' s say 10% of the initial given exp for smithed item. You could also use sapphire, emerald, ruby, diamond or even onyx griding stones to give it an extra +1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 attack bonus. Normal griding stones don' t give any additional boost to accuracy, only said boosts at 30, 60 and 90 smithing. I bet you' re thinking, what about boosts before level 30? None, getting level 30 smithing can be done in about 6 hours if you do it right, so you just sharpen the sword to make it battle ready. And let' s say, just to not make this too easy for everyone, sharpened swords or mended warhammers and maces are not tradeable, thus giving a new aspect to training smithing. This way pures will have to train smithing to be as good as main characters because, come on, we took the time to learn new skills, let' s start using brains instead of brawn all the time. If this was released, I say give F2P the second stage and they can sharpen available weapons and arrows. Keep the third and master stage to P2P. To F2P only a ruby griding stone is available, other grinding stones are located in P2P areas. So what would this update do? Make monsters easier to kill, much easier infact, but it would revive the smithing skill and more or less keep it alive. Might need to decrease the boosts a bit, but this is only a crude idea, so it still has to be polished.
  5. It' s on the front page, Jagex has problems finding a good ISP, many worlds are down so other worlds have to accept more players. More server problems? You bet.
  6. 1 click is is far from a bank!?!?!?!?!? :o Mauranius is a pure F2P God, so the nearest bank is in Draynor Village, about 7 clicks one way.
  7. I think JaGEx is correct since I think that means Java Games Experts or something like that.
  8. Mico

    Different things...

That' s probably because Jagex is moving their servers. I' ve been getting some weird stuff lately too, Runescape seems to "refresh" for me from time to time, mostly when the ads change. The game starts to lag, then it flashes white a few times and my chatbox is competely blank. Sometimes I just end up with a black screen and have to refresh the whole page.
  9. I have never met anyone who plays Runescape that I met in the game itself. For 6 years now. Nor do I want to. Nobody knows where Slovenia is and I like it that way, I play the game because I like to cut down trees, catch lobsters and slash demons with unreal swords. It' s a game, not a chat room with stuff to do. If people want to meet people, fine, do it in Runescape, no need to write a whole speech about Runescape being good for meeting people. Because frankly, no kiddin. It' s a MMORPG as in lots-of-people-in-one-place kind of game. Humans are a pack animal, meaning they will find friends. We are not tigers to hunt and mostly live alone, we strive to love and be loved. Thus we tend to make friends whereever we may be or go. Some want love more than others so they seek more of it on-line. I' m sure you' ve seen good friends on Runescape, greeting with <333333 or HAIIII!!!!. And for the relationship part of your post, impressing the opposite sex is a natural instinct. We are driven by the two most basic emotions: fear and lust. We survive by being afraid of things, thus avoiding them. We also survive by making babies. Passing on our genetic pool is what every male on this planet wants to do. Turn on Animal Planet and you will see males trying to impress females in every way they know. Don' t be fooled, every man wants to have sex. Some more openly than others, some will wait longer than others. But everyone who has ever [bleep] wants to make babies. Shyness is a sub-emotion. You will not see a shy lion, simply because the sex-drive is so strong in one. A primate can be shy because emotions are at a much higher level than that of a lion. Thus you can see revenge stories unfolding in Zoo's. Shy people have a low self-esteem. I myself was once shy as hell, if anyone unknown talked to me I could not make contact. But I have overgrown that and tend to make friends fairly easily and quickly. And friendships that are not possible in real life are those that break the general tabus. A 30 year old man can not befriend a 14 year old girl outside or vice versa. The general public will not accept it. In Runescape you can easily talk to such person in a friendly way without fearing anything or anyone. The Internet has no laws, it knows no difference of race, age, sex or distance. Everything by everyone, so says the Newgrounds logo and it is correct. Runescape aswell does not have tabus. You can befriend anyone. The problem here is, who is he? Or she? Are you talking to a real person or a made up idealistic puppet created for the sole purpose to impress? How do you know? You do not unless you are told the truth. Untill then you can just guess who is on the other side or accept what they tell you. Anything else you want to debate? Friends in Runescape are real people, just like outside. Outside they are a regular Joe, in-game they are Muppet Man, a lvl 120 Dragon Slayer, enforcer of justice and feared by all. With huge bicebs and abs of steel. And they have a hot blonde girlfriend that they "get it on" with day and night. The truth? Only Muppet Man knows. Now go and have a cookie for reading my post, you deserve it :
  10. Coal always did and always will sell, no matter the price. Even before the GE you would stand next to the east bank in Falador, world 1 or any other trade world and say "Selling coal X ea" and you' d get bombarded with trade requests. All you had to do was ask for 10gp less per coal than the normal price. I sold at 150 each when they were 160 each and 170 each when they rose to 180 each. No problem. Willows, on the other hand, did not sell so well, because everyone was selling them. Even selling 1k willows was painful, so I just dropped them when I had no more space. Don' t know the price b.g.e. (before Grand Exchange) since I never sold willows, only yews. They were around 300 each, I think. And no, people mining in the Mining Guild always banked coal, you could hardly see any coal laying around. Just that people don' t gather coal, it' s painfully slow and not a very good moneymaker compared to other options.
  11. I think skill capes are getting less impressive because you see them everywhere today. Like once being a level 126 was something insane, nowadays you see them everywhere, and it isn' t even the max combat level anymore. Or having let' s say 3M in your bank on F2P. It' s not rare nor impressive anymore due to 26king, I managed to make 2.7M in 5 hours with 26king. Before I managed maybe 500k in 5 hours with lobster fishing. Though having a skill cape is still an amazing achivement, it' s just not that great anymore.
  12. [hide=quotes] I'm not arguing with you but how did you arrive at the total of 7%? It seems like an odd number, like you worked something out. I didn't work it out, someone else did. There's a chart that shows this Blue is f2p, red is p2p, as shown at the bottom. sweet, good find! Wonder what made the revenue generated by f2p go down? [/hide] Wasn' t membership price hightened somewhere around then? Subscriptions should bring in alot more money, thus we get the change.
  13. I suggest, when you die, and if a melee fighter kills you, he first disarms you with one swift blow, then knee you in the stomach. When you fall to your knees holding your guts he then proceeds to chop your head of, find a nearby pole, stick it on the pole, then stick the head-on-a-pole in the ground. And as you lie there beheaded you squirt some blood. After that, you respawn in Lumbridge or whereever you do. For a ranged dude, he first shoots one arrow in your left shoulter, thus disarming you. As you grab your left shoulder the archer then goes to 3 squares distance of you (stepping forward or backwards depends on the attacker) and just shoots 3 arrows right in your guts. As you fall to your knees he stepts right next to you, shooting an arrow into your left eye. You fall, die, respawn. For a master of the dark arts (that' s magic), he first shocks you. Don' t ask me how, but the electricity disarms you. Then, he starts to power up like they do in the movies with the robes waving in the air and sparks fly everywhere, and then just BLASTS your legs off. And as you, uh, sit on the ground with no legs, screaming, he freezes your head and sends a lightning bolt through you, exploding your head in the process. Respawn. What my sarcastic comment is trying to say is, what' s the point? This would be awesome, but it would create lag that only a good computer and direct LAN connection to the server could whitstand. But not good for the game that has no blood in the game. Anywhere. So a cool death emote is out of the question, you just can' t make it any better without blood or it being +13. What can we improve? The side we fall to? Honestly, Runescape just couldn' t survive the gore level of a better death scene, even if it' s only a little blood squirting out of a cut finger. And anything that would look good would create way too much lag on PvP worlds, and I doubt you wan' t to see a cool death emote when a GWD boss just killed you and you lost your first real armour or weapon. No offense really, just want to bring a smile or even a chuckle to someone.
  14. Off-topic: Isn' t Upgrayedd the pimp of that hooker who was the test subject along with the most average soldier in the U.S. Army, and they were frozen in "time capsules", just to be defrosted in the far off year of 2000 something-something, only for the dude to become the smartest president in known history with the hooker by his side as the smartest first woman in known history and they had the three smartest kids in history? From the film Idiocracy? On-topic: Oh yea, I forgot that you ranted about the dreaded Year of Upgrades.
  15. The Mining Guild could resemble the Hobgoblin mines a bit, that' s heaven for miners. I mean really, the mines outside the Guild have adamant ore. Outside the Guild. Inside is a motherload of coal, and 4 (I think) mithril rocks. Not even one iron rock in there, that just saddens the litlle miner in me ( :( ).
