  1. I'll be honest the first article wasn't that interesting, I think it could of expanded a bit on the point it was making. The scond article however I agree strongly with. When I started playing rs at the back end of 2004 it was a very different game, people with high level skills (especially 99's) were hard to come by and without the GE (and with a lot less players) it was advantageous to work with friends to quickly aquire the best items (helped by free trade). Nowadays i think player to player interaction is a lot less which is quite disapointing and with people defeating bosses such as Nomad on their own highlights the issue of just doing everything alone (helped greatly by summoning.....). I think in the future if jagex took items and content such as the highest level potions and made them nontradeable on the GE but tradeable in direct player to player trades the whole dynamic of the game would be a bit more like it was before.
  2. I liked both articles but found the second more interesting, unfortunatley I didn't do stats so I don't understand it all, but it looks interesting. Could someone just give me a quick run though of what it all means?
  3. Yes but you would lose a lot of money by doing this, great guide btw, superheating mith bars is working very well for me (i'm farming ranarrs to cover the loss of money)
  4. well the quest is here, for teh few people who can do the quest it's time for them to find out more about the dragonkin
  5. wait a sec i think I know where there south place on the compass is, its brimhaven dungoen, it must be as it contains red dragons as well as bronze and steel dragons, the question I'm ponerding is whether there is an x and if there is another castle (or cave or whatever) on the x, possibly lining up with these other areas.
  6. looking at other quests such as heroes quest and legends quest i reckon that the first grandmaster quest will reward you by you being able to go into a new area, some exp in a few skills (maybe 10k in each skill) and the 4-5 quest points (and then possibly rewarding you by letting you do/use/make new things)
  7. I think that after fighting that last dragon kin, (with the death of oddyseus, and with him badly injured) he must have gone to the gods to ask for help (if this was true then it would make sense that this happened in the 1st age) to heal him and revive oddyseus maybe instead though they split there souls in two (resulting in memory loss) and then fused their two half souls together to get Bob the cat instead, and maybe just maybe their other soul halves are hidden away soem where waiting to be unlocked and for Robert and oddyseud to return and educate the next generation in the fight against the dragonkin..... Also it would make sense if dragonkin existed in/near the dragon forge but as dragons cover the map it's likely that Dragonkin exist all over runescape. And with regards to the smell of dragon poo in morytania and that i associate morytania with the colour green maybe in this area adamant dragons are hiding as well as dragonkin beneath...
  8. isn't there some way of getting back at this guy? good work tip.it crew for keeping this site up and running, lets hope you can get that extra security sooner rather than later though
  9. A pretty good article but a couple of things to note --> its still possible to get scammed in item lending if you pay for a an item to be lent to you and the time you choose for lending is until either of you loggs out. As soon as you get the item the othe rperson can log out re-claiming his item and keeping you cash --> i think with regards to kids playing RS its not neccesarily a bad thing I started playing RS aged 11 (I'm now 15) and i didn't act childish then and I don't act childish now. i think things were mine when the kids were the minority becuase the kids stepped up to their environment and acted more maturely. But now with so many kids sometimes things seem to be like a playground and kids not seeing the need to 'step up' and act more maturely. And i think this the older players who sink down to the kids level by insulting them, its like the whole ethos of RS has degraded a bit. What frustrates me though is by aiming things at young kids jagex is breaking its own rule.
  10. yeah i see where your coming from. A lot of people have said that everyone wanted to get rid of RWT and now that thats happened everyones complaining about it and they should shut up, but the thing is yes we wanted to get rid of RWT but we didn't want to get rid of trading, pking and staking
  11. wait a sec I swear i posted this as a new topic ah well a mod probally deleted it and moved my post here
  12. this i what Jagex have posted today: I'd like to highlight the increase to trading/staking limit increase. This sounds all well and fine but as many players have pointed out is that staking 30k isn't a very serious amount of money that many players could easily pay out. The big problem though is how it all works its all good and fine that the limit increases but you will only be able to trade that extra amount with players who have the same quest point level or higher than yours. For example: player y has 50 quest points and player x has 100 quest points player x wants to buy an item worth 100k off of player y now lets say that having 50 quest points allows you to trade up to and below 10k of the items worth and having 100 quest points allows to trade up to and below 20k of the items worth player x wishes to buy the item for 120k but as player y doesn't have that many quest points he can't sell it for that much so they have to figure out what is player y's trade cap, this it could take a while and be annoying for both players. Another problem is people with high quest points will want to charge more for their items but as many people have lower quest points its going to be annoying for them (making them frustrated and angry that they have to sell lower for 'noobs') and they'll have to sell at a lower price. If things went badly wrong a divide might be created between people with low quest points and people with high quest points, also this probaly means we won't be seeing much increase in the price of items. Yet again I don't think Jagex has thought these updates through and trading is going to become even more frustrating.
  13. I have no idea why lvl 90 smithers would want to smith iron but it makes more sense for a higher lvl player to be able to smith more iron than a lower lvl player and i separated out the posts so everyon could distinguish what is what
  14. losing duelling private drop parties pking and unbalanced trades was not worth it to stamp out the bots and the fake credit cards and profit off the game will continue
