  1. Bah! Humbug!: I've got to say, I agree with your article. People seem to always miss the point of the event and just think of the rewards. It's not about the costumes and items, it's about the spirit of the holidays. I just wish more people could see that. On a side note, the snow did kick [wagon], and one more thing, the events are much more enjoyable once the crowds have started to thin out and you can actually see yourself. The Christmas Item Over The Christmas Experience: This is an interesting solution to the holiday item complaints of late but I will miss the quest every holiday. People need to take the game a little more lightly and just enjoy it for the game, If people are going to focus on the items instead of what's important, maybe Jagex should just stop giving out items at holidays for a little bit. That way the people who want to enjoy the quest can do so without as many people obsessed with the item ruining the mood and the others won't think they missed out on a rare item for skipping it. This may not be the best solution but it just might work. The spirit of the holidays seems to be leaving runescape, it's saddens me to say this but, people will continue to be 'Tiny Thoms' obsessed with their presents
  2. That sounds awesome, I love pet rocks and a certain pet rock care guide was very useful, a quest-line based around these silent pets will be fantastic. Underground Pass = most irritating quest, maybe the change'll make it less annoying. C'mon Jagex hurry up with these updates and make sure we're the first to know about it, but if the RSOF catches wind of this I'll blow Jagex Towers into the ground, seriously hurry up. Jagex had better make this partnership worth our while or the above threat will also apply.

  4. I bought a headset with a mic the other day because my old pair broke. My new pair is almost identical to my old pair but the mic picks up alot of garbage rendering it useless. does anyone know what could be causing all the garbage? Also the headset doesn't disable my speakers when they're plugged in. So if I accidentaly leave my speakers on while playing a game with my headphones everyone else in the room can hear it. This isn't as important as my first issue but still annoying. does anyone have any info on this problem thanks.
  5. I think melee is the cheapet to train because once you have a weapon you can go off and kill things, magic and range needs ammo to actually use their weapons and/or spells which requires more money to continue training, however mage and range also have the benefits of safespotting and stuff like that. Also (According to Tip.It's damage calcs and tables) without special attacks and abilities melee has the highest max hit but with specs and stuff range has the highest max. Magic has the lowest max hit and most expensive attacks but has a redeeming feature with ancient magicks' special abilities of freezing, healing, poison, accuracy reduction and attack speed reduction (the first 3 aren't unique to magic). FYI You forgot blood spells and onyx bolts. NOTE: Your opinions may differ from that of the writer of the post so do not claim that the post is wrong if the claim it is subjective to opinion. Also please note that some things mentioned in the may not apply in PvP.
  6. I don't care really, I'll do almost anything to break the monotony of grinding, even grinding another skill, so I'm not fussed.
  7. The bug was there when I played too, the obelisk remained under red control while half the blue team as there with no reds. Buggy but otherwise good imo.
  8. I noticed a small thing missing from your SC guide, the reward point scheme I'm not sure if anyone else posted this I'm doing it just to be sure
  9. Mass Bannings - Great article Necro and an accurate one at that we really should be trusting JaGex it's their game and they know what's best. More Diversion Than Distraction? - I haven't really done Distractions and Diversions I did for a little while and then forgot about them. Although I don't have the requirements for about half of them I can't be bothered doing any of them so it's time for a grind sandwich, cut in half by the clay tools. God Wars II - The Fremmenik tribes are fairly safe if they abandon Rellekka and head to the islands but being the proud warriors they are they probably wouldn't. The Dwarves blast furnace would probably be a prime target but if the Dwarves start using cannons very few will get in even less will come out but no one is getting the furnace. The Kharidian desert isn't exactly a prime piece of real estate but used prperly it could be useful and if those Kalphite get loose we're in a bit of trouble. Saradomin's Sun - The poor girl gets killed by a stranger and the father didn't exactly help, that's an example of great parenting skills for everyone but Aestas must've learnt a lesson don't talk to strangers.
  10. I would probably recover slowly followed by a short break during which i congratulate myself for getting my wealth back however if I had more say 50mil i would take a break to sulk for a couple days then recover slowly. No lifing is not an option because i don't have a life
  11. As of 11/08/2009 i am 16 so chronologically that makes me 15 but technically i have been alive for approximately 16 years an 3 months. take your pick, oh and yes i know im a smartass
  12. I was just saying that the bank trips cost time that could be used for controlled training just getting the weapon as for the loot bit i was going to delete it but i got distracted and left it there :wall: EDIT: Just came up with a good point. In the theory above it is assumed controlled is slower but if controlled is truly slower then xp must be gained at a different rate. Since both A and B require the same xp and gain it at the same rate as well as having the same stats then they should both require the same time to level. Here is some extra detail: while A gains the level in attack B gains xp at the same rate as A. While A levels strength with an alternate weapon A slows down due to the worse weapon while B stays at the same rate with a headstart if A has to bank. While A levels defence A will level faster due to the strength boost and using their primary weapon and B will still level at the same rate as they always have with the headstart for the possible banking. Therefore if A brought both weapons they finish at approximately the same time but if banking is necessary B would finish first because of the banking time
  13. [hide=Previous statements + arguments against them] [/hide] I thought i might show some more reasoning behind some of my previous statements 1. The damage you inflict isn't actually decided by strength but largely by luck even with 99 strength you can still hit 1s on anything if your unlucky like me 3 and 5. Let's have 2 hypothetical and identical players, player A and player B. A needs 5 minutes of training to level up using the one-by-one method and B needs 5:40 on controlled and both are training in the same spot but whenever A levels A needs to go to the bank which takes 20 seconds. At the end both level at the same time but B generates more loot.
  14. Here's an interesting quesion for all of you, does the +1 attack and strength levels affect you so significantly that you speed up the training in defence? To reiterate my previous question, does the slightly increased chance to hit or the possibility to hit a little bit higher really speed up your training? [hide=A few other (possibly) relevant tidbits]1. Strength doesn't mean you hit harder it just means you can hit harder but not necessarily will. 2. People might not train controlled for speed but consistency becaus if you train controlled you know you'll get all your levels around the same time. 3. As previously stated the whip is the fastest xp but it cannot train strength directly, so would getting an attack level with the whip then switching to a weapon that can't gain xp faster than the whip to level strength then switching back to the whip be faster than controlled with the whip? 4. Personal taste is a truly deciding factor, someone may feel as though they are gainimg faster xp with controlled than one-by-one. 5. If training controlled takes longer then that must mean more kills which then means more drops/randoms which in turn means more money so more supplies or better weapons and armour are acquired.[/hide] These are some things to consider when making your argument.
