Was it really EoC that ruined RuneScape?

13 June 2014 - 11:02 PM

I was thinking the other night, was it really EoC that has actually hurt RuneScape as a brand and in terms of membership revenue? (could someone provide pictures/flow charts/pie charts?)

I mean, I remember when on a Friday/Saturday night at UK 8-10pm time (ther most popular time for all countries to log in) there were over 120K people playing. Whereas now I only see around 60K max, which in my opinion is slightly concerning given that OSRS has 20K, which is only 1/3 of their proper game with full updates (by full I mean very frequent).

Given that OSRS is currently hosting 1/3 of accounts to that of RS3, do you think that maybe the way of "Legacy" is too late and trying to revive a dying product? Or is opening OSRS with a support team their way of trying to claw back members that they once had?

If it's the latter, do you think that within a few years the OSRS will be renamed/re-branded and have a full dedicated team the size of RS3?

Finally, the question I would like answering:

When did you first start to notice the falling numbers of online players and what do you think caused it?

To target a new audience, do any of you think it's about time they made RuneScape playable through tablets? I mean, with low detail/safe mode obviously, otherwise the tablets will overheat and break.

Clicks, Keys Counter - WhatPulse (dyn sigs help)

WhatPulse is a 100% safe app before anyone says otherwise.

I'm currently thinking of adding more stats to a dynamic images I've created but I was wondering, what do people look for these days?

The current layout/design is:

As you can see from the above image, currently the displayed information are:
  • Account ID (with long link)
  • Total Clicks
  • Total Keys
So I'm wondering, is that enough? What else would you like to see?

I was thinking:
  • Account ID Name (replaces)
  • Total Clicks
  • Total Keys
  • Amount of data Downloaded
  • Amount of data Uploaded
These would be placed as follow (personally, I think it looks a little cluttered ans there's not much space, so what's your idea/layout?

Please post your ideas/layout.

Stats you can retrieve are:
  • Account ID
  • Account name
  • Total keys
  • Total clicks
  • Amount downloaded
  • Amount uploaded
  • Computer uptime
  • Keys per second
  • Clicks per second
Please also state if you would rather I used the normal font or the script-style one.

[Suggestion] Custom Watermark?

04 June 2014 - 11:54 AM

Given that SK can add a watermark itself (both the DD-MM-YYYY) and the SK icon in the top right, would it be possible to add a feature so we can attach our own watermarks?

Perhaps a .png file with specific X-Y placements?

If not, is there any chance I can modify the current DD-MM-YYYY watermark image or is it hardcoded?
