RuneScape Information

  1. I know! My first impression was that the quest this month would be a prequel to the real quest coming as #150 sometime in january But I think jagex doesnt consider the number 150 to be as special as 50, or 100
  2. my first reaction when I read the comment about the grandmaster quest, i thought jagex said their 150th quest would be GM level then i read it a second time and realized the grandmaster quest was coming out THIS month so my second reaction was: Woah, the first grandmaster quest followed so closely with the 150th super quest?!? then my third reaction was: Wait... did jagex ever say their super quest would be #150? i know it's a pattern but what if jagex broke it what if this grandmaster quest IS the super quest jagex promised? Then would we just get some random stupid quest for #150? I really hope not, considering jagex usually delays their updates, i was expecting the super quest in 2009 I'm just going to cross my fingers that jagex is feeling generous and giving us two GM quests very close to each other
  3. sorry if i wasnt clear, but i was specifically referring to materials that are sources of otherworldly power i mean runes are supposed to be a source of magical energy's that people use to perform magical feats, I don't see why summoning energy needs to be contained in shards/charms instead of runes same goes for sacred clay
  4. sacred clay? i'm kind of averse to that idea this game is Runescape isnt it? not charmscape, nor sacredclayscape i really think jagex should keep alot of these "fundamental building blocks" rune related just because it fits the game's theme
  5. 16. I always thought this was a mistake by Jagex, but i guess those guys are smarter than they look :geek: 25. bugs attack you in lumbridge caves when you don't have a lightsource. The ringing of the bell gets him attacked, this could be a Molanisk ALSO found in dorgesh-kaan/lumbridge dungeon. And that's all close to movario and the tears of guthix... interesting... did anybody every try using said ancient pages on movario?
  6. thanks for the input guys, I am aware that there are instances of second tier consumption, arguably Nth tier consumption However never do skills require you to consume items on second tier consumption as a sole method of training And to ultigamer, invention is a great title for such a skill
  7. A few friends and I were tinkering with the idea of what we called a "second tier consumption skill" typically production produce a resource, and consumption skills convert it to something else Ex: Woodcutting(logs) -> Fletching(bows) a second tier consumption skill would be something that consumed the products of another production skill, such as fletching, crafting, smithing, herblore, etc Granted, combat is arguably a second tier consumption skill, and there are some instances of second tier consumtion such as: smithing(iron platebody) -> summoning(Iron titan) However I wish to specifically discuss the potential of a new skill devoted entirely to second tier consumption After some brainstorming, the idea of "engineering" fit the second tier consumption skill idea the best, but it is by no means the only possibility (feel free to scream sailing, I am just personally averse to the idea of sailing as a skill) ex: Smithing(steel gears/cogs/cams/etc) -> engineering(some newfangled device) before i move on: this is NOT a discussion about how engineering/sailing can be implemented, so please stay off that topic this is a discussion about how any form of second tier consumption would affect RS, whether or not it is likely, beneficial, etc Arguably a second tier skill would be extremely expensive, available only to the wealthiest runescape gamers, likely getting much flame from poorer members of RS. On the other hand, this would make production skills even more profitable, and first tier consumption skills cheaper This would actually make training skills OTHER than the second tier skill easier for the poorer members of runescape
  8. I noticed that too. Looks like N, M and G are going to go out of business. The picture at the bottom of the postbag is awesome. yeah that made me happy, but on another note one of the grim reaper's alises is "nigel" isnt that the same as Evil Dave's super evil uncle?
  9. brewery (i brew to make junk, i can't see jagex promoting junk creation though :P) spirit tree (i just want more kick out of my farming level)
  10. i get most of my pleasure finding interesting and efficient ways to train skills that most people don't think of that and quests, this game would be boring to no end if you actually did not enjoy the quests that and erm... distractions + diversions and stuff along those lines i hate repetitive grinds So i do take pleasure out of reducing the time i spend grinding
  11. Heh. This isn't the same, which is why I won't post the method until I've cleared it to work better than what you describe. i can confirm i had the same results for myself and 3 other friends im pretty sure jagex nerfs all drops after you kill the same guy 5 times in a row
  12. arhein he means lol jade vine distractions and diversions battlestaffs bert's sand Brewing and of course, farming ;) implings and certain items u buy off ge but are capped (bstaffs for example) I know there has to be more, tears of guthix (i forgot the obvious one) im sure there is more
  13. oxidised, when used in respect to a metal, usually means rusted It can also mean set on fire though maybe the short lasting pk gear they spoke of was flaming gear and the items listed are just what's left over after that gear is burned out. or maybe ^^ idea is just too cliche and that armor really is just crappy worn down armor :P
  14. I am inclined to believe that most of the numbers on kingdom management are invalid I can vouch that maple logs are precisely 56.0, not 56.1, i am 100% positive of this having done KM for so long and always maintaining integer values of cash paid to my workers. if you go 2 weeks of kingdom management and maintain 100% favor, you will spend 700k and get 12500 maple logs, exactly 56 gp/item I am inclined to believe that more of the items, maybe not all, should have integer values to them. I will test fish when i can. I also find that describing the amount you pay for swordfish and tuna to be misleading. You get 1 casket per 50 tuna, it would not be farfetched to believe that you get 3 swordfish per 10 tuna. It would be more accurate to describe fishing by amount paid per tuna. In which case it may be a number more like 112 gp per tuna. I will have data when my kingdom management data on fish when i am ready. I won't be checking the remaining data in the recent future, as KM takes quite a while, and i like getting money spend to be precisely an integer multiple of the estimated value. Example: Currently i believe it is actually 112 gp per tuna (exactly double the cost of maples). If after 2 weeks maintain favor 100% My workers spend 700k gp and hand me 6250 tuna, i will know tuna cost 112 gp ea, being a precise multiple of 700k. Remember the values given on the current KM minigame site are all higher than the actual values due to roundoff error. [pokemama edit: a study on bonus items was completed a few months ago in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=188&t=766545 It may or may not relate to your subject, but the topic does have a great deal of data posted in it. (Which also may or may not help.) Since there have been no new posts on this topic, I am archiving it for now. Please start a new topic if you feel it's needed, or PM the crew if you want this topic reactivated.]
