RuneScape Information

  1. I'm still mainly a user of RHQ, but I joined TIF a bit ago. I haven't been active much on TIF, and I have to agree with most of what's been said here. Not all of it, there is obviously gonna be bias, but most of what's been said about other sites, and HQ in particular (and only because I'm active there), holds some truth. Personally, I almost never use guides or anything, but when I do, I use HQ's for quests (although some of the older ones are a bit outdated) because it's got more pics in the guides (Tip's are just too wordy IMO, but that's just me.... I think) but I did use Tip's T trail guide, for the longest time it was indisputably the best on any helpsite. (Since I memorized all the lvl 3's and/or stopped doing T trails, I haven't used anyone's, so I don't know if that's changed). Also, to remove any doubt from anyone's mind, you don't have to pay to use HQ. There is an option for donating to the site and getting access to one or two more forums, but it's not required.
  2. Fire bolt metal drags with chaos gaunts, that's what i did for the majority of 85-99. bolting, you usually at least break even with money spent and drops, so it's pretty good.
  3. I like to use both, the bunyip usually keeps me near full health, but if I get hit hard a couple of times, guthans does come in handy for healing. Summoning pots aren't too hard to come by, so if you want to use bunyips, that's fine. Although, in the long run, I would think that guthans is cheaper, although I have nothing to base that off of. IMO, it's up to you, if you have all str bonus gear for combat, get a bunyip and bring food just in case. If you don't care about str bonuses, just use guth bod/legs and a whip, and have the helm and spear to heal, again not relying completely on guthans. So either one is fine imo, but it's just a matter of what your preference is. If you plan on camping for a long time somewhere, guthans, but if it's task to task, bunyips should be fine. but ALWAYS bring some food, like 5 or so monks because if you don't, you will usually end up needing it.
  4. Ok, first off, I hate 1-def str pures, too many of them with egos the size of soviet Russia. That being said, I have to be partial to tanks myself. Take out summoning, I think I'm lvl 110, 99 range/mage, 93 def, 80 att 83 str, 75 prayer. I know people don't tend to be fans of tanks, but if you do it right, a tank can own. My favourite technique is barrage + dark bow spec, a combo that under the right circumstances can do 110-130 damage, at the same time. Granted, you get called a noob for farcasting, but whoever does that is jealous of your hawt ice cube spell. (although sizewise, it's more of a walk-in freezer) anyway. I think the max p2p cb level allowed in bh is 112, and you could probably pull off a 70/85/99/99/99 (99 hp, too, or at least something close to it) and be under the limit if you don't do summoning. With those stats, there's almost nobody who can beat you, although that's not a guarantee.
  5. Well, if you wanna melee, there's really nowhere to go other than brimhaven dungeon. However, if you want to range/mage, go to the ogre enclave. I think there's only three or four of them, but they're caged up, and a few squares in front of the cage are safe zones from the blue dragons in the enclave. Just make sure to either mage or use arrows/bolts that you're willing to lose, because there's no way to pick them up other than telegrab.
  6. Fight metal drags or something... I have a TON of rune javs and darts from them, and I'm NEVER gonna use em... since you aren't interested in doing fletching, there aren't too many options unless you fished a lot of salmon or something, or have a ton of body runes.
  7. I camped under the waterfall at fire giants for the majority of 60-99 range.... Personally, I'd suggest going there, into the middle room. If you stand just inside the door on the right as you enter the room, it's a safe spot until you can range over the table. I was always a big fan of msb and iron or steel arrows myself, but I've used every ranged weapon imaginable there. So, from personal experience, I'd say iron knives, msb, or crystal bow with regular black dhide. Fire giants drop enough rune scimmys and arrows that you might actually make money getting 90 range. My personal claim to fame is that I've gotten every fire giant drop that's been recorded, so I can legitimately say that it's not bad xp (40-45k/hour) and the drops are decent enough to make it worth it.
  8. I'd say that fire bolting metals is the best, but it's kinda slow. Personally I did fire wave from 95-99 (no visage, so i lost a ton of money, but meh) and it's almost as fast as alching and not nearly as boring
