  1. Well, I've edited my guide again. I fixed numerous spelling and grammatical errors (ie. Run-on sentences), removed out-of-date advice, added some new tips and cut down on verbosity. I can't even believe how many run-on sentences there were. Hopefully the guide will be easier to read.
  2. Thank you all for the comments and advice. :) I will be doing a revamp of this guide sometime over Thanksgiving break as it's got some things in it that are a bit outdated/pieces of advice that...well, aren't very good/useful. So just keep posting comments and advice and I'll consider what's best and include it in the revamp of the guide (with credit of course). :)
  3. It's 200 people and it was more like 120 which is 60%...a Another facet of activity is being prompt when functions are happening. ZF had to wait longer to get their guys organized and probably had to wait for more people. That is something gladz took advantage of. Does that make them evilbadscary people? It's clever if you ask me. zf didnt have to waity longer.. lol... gladz just started meeting at like 3:00 (2 hrs before the war) We actually started meeting at 3:45. Thank you though for alluding to the fact that Gladz members are prompt and take care in making sure they get to wars and events on time.
  4. Again, our hits average is around 81. It's more like "more members/activity>less members/fewer show up". Gladiators is a quality clan, don't try coming up with excuses.
  5. Amen. I went from level 93-97 for this war and worked my butt off for 80 att and 80 def. I normally don't train and dislike playing RS. I know every Gladiator worked as hard as he or she could. For anyone to say that we cheated or we're a bunch of level 60s or we did this/that is disgraceful. We worked hard and we won, accept defeat and get over it. Thanks to the ZF members who are doing that.
  6. My pics pwn. :P Anyways, congrats to all Gladiators, great victory. 8) And whoever thinks we brought The Alliance, I can only feel sorry for you. I'm glad that most ZF members are taking the defeat graciously. We don't have level 60s and actually our hits average is around 81. Try again.
  7. Yep, I have a link to his guide near the start of mine :) .
  8. That's actually not what he was saying :P . He was saying: put a warning in the guide letting people know that reading it won't make them awesome leaders because it's partially a natural talent. Of course, this guide provides the information...talent is great, but having talent and the information and basics of how a clan works also helps  .
  9. Exactly. Here's my final point: this guide is to help beginners, and with a few extra tips to also possibly help people who already have a clan. That's it. It's not supposed to teach leading and if that's what you're looking for, or looking down the road for, it's not going to happen. Leading is a natural ability in my opinion, you can't read a guide and know what to do (although if it's a well-written guide on leading, you may improve). There's just no point to add all that stuff about hackers because this guide is for beginners. That's what I said before. Well, if anyone thinks that, then I feel very sorry for them, but when I get back from vacation I'll write a disclaimer telling those few thick-headed individuals that this guide does NOT teach you how to lead, but how to set up a clan with management tips. So all in all, all you needed to say was the above quote if you were worried that newbs would simply read my guide and say "hey, I can now lead a high level sweet clan!" although I've often stated against this many times. Because the other stuff, I said before like that this guide does not teach how to lead because leading is partially a natural ability and you just can't learn everything about it from a guide.
  10. I don't feel I've done "an injustice" to clans, as pretty much anyone will tell you- The point of this guide is to help a newbie without a clue, or someone looking for a few extra tips, not to be the ultimate, end-all, be-all masters thesis of everything related to clans or leading clans. Most beginners don't need or want to read a textbook. This guide gets the job done, I believe, and so many others think it too. If you feel I have left out so much that is important, please, post some examples  . Your tone is a bit snooty, but for no real reason in my opinion. This guide teaches the basics with a little extra to help out beginners and even those with clans already. Anything else added to this guide, in my opinion, would seem a bit extraneous or unecessary. - You misread what I said: Remember- just because there is alot of information, not all of it is necessary or even useful to add. Plus, you're missing the point of the guide- to help beginners, not thoroughly explain how to lead an amazing clan. Well, I'll let you provide some examples of all the "important stuff" I've left out :) .
  11. Absolutely, and I do not profess to know everything: :) .
  12. I was talking about the motivation for creating clans, not what happens after they are created. Already knew that mate  . /Blizz The motivation to create a clan is what the leader(s) want out of it ;) or should be. Um, yes? That's already been said before, er it's been inferred. I'm talking about the motivation to create a clan and how it shouldn't all be based on power and the other factors for why people create clans. I don't think we're reading each other's posts right or you think I'm saying something else :? . /Blizz

  14. That's if enough people join, despite your reputation and it doesn't get the same fate as WD or MD. 98% likely not to happen. Remember Raimus isn't 'leading' this clan by himself. It's run by a council. So even if one person decides to drop out, the clan will still be running. Plus, everyone's nice and reasonably mature. I don't think it's going to fall  . We might lose a few members to other clans such as RSD, but we'll make up what we lost. I'd agree with that, I think TRWF is going to rise in power, they seem like a reasonable clan with solid leadership and members. For the most part, I think things will stay the same and few, if any clans are going to make a sudden impact. 'THE' Alliance will be there as usual along with RSD/DI doing their own thing, and the other clans gaining members or declining slowly. /Blizz
