  1. Got my ranged goal! It took 30 minutes of training on guards. I'm training attack next. :)
  2. That was what I was thinking. Teak planks work too, though. (according to the video previously posted) Anyway, I finished my crafting goal. I bought 194 gold bars and made them into necklaces. Took less than 10 minutes, and I'll hopefully be able to sell them for a reasonable profit in Port Sarim. For future reference, they don't sell well on the G.E... EDIT: Hm, I sold 50 and made only 3k. The price goes down fast once there are a few necklaces there. I'll just sell them on the G.E.
  3. @ purewcnub: That is the ultimate way to make money! :) Pure essence mining also seems to stack up well compared to that, too. @ gandorf61: My only "money making" skill is mining, which is level 50. Most of my other non-combat skills are low-ish, especially runecrafting. (lv 3, lol) I do mine stuff occasionally, and mining gold is pretty profitable, but I feel that rune essence mining is better. EDIT: All this is mind, I think I;m gonna set myself a goal before I become a member. Here's what I'm thinking: 50 Attack, Strength, and Defense (Currently 49, 49, and 49, respectively) 30 Ranged Trained on guards for half an hour. 20 Crafting Done! I simply bought 194 gold bars and made them into necklaces. That was easy. :P 43 Prayer (Currently 29)
  4. Alright, then I'll definitely become a member soon. Only one more thing... My main way of making money is by merchanting... I buy 10k feathers at 4gp and sell at 6gp. That equates to around 20k a day. (It would be more if not for Jagex's G.E. trade limits) I'll probably still end up doing that, but as a member, I'll probably need more gold. I've already looked at picking flax and spinning it into bowstrings, or even simply buying flax, going to Lumbridge, and running from the bank in the castle to the spinning wheel, back and forth. However, I'm wondering about any other techniques used to make money. I'm thinking that mining pure essence would be profitable, because I always favored mining normal essence as a good F2P money making strategy, and pure essence sells for almost four times as much as rune essence does.
  5. @ Killerred005: Thanks! :) I was worried that I'd be a member for a while, then lose all of my hard work, lol. @ Italian5kamikaze: Hm, that isn't what I was hoping for. If you did Lost City, how hard was killing the tree spirit, and what level were you?
  6. I'm considering becoming a RuneScape member, but I've got a few questions that I can't seem to find the answer to. First off, if I quit members, do I still retain all of my members-only levels and such, or do they all go back to level 1? I'm also wondering if I can equip dragon scimitars/longswords without doing Monkey Madness/Lost City. And finally, I'm level 59. Is this a reasonable level to become a member at? Thanks for your help!
  7. Really? Hm. Never expected that, although I wouldn't know, because I haven't played actively since now for 2 1/2 years or so.
  8. Actually, I think it's because of PvP worlds. Every expensive item that was "worthless" in the sense that it either doesn't give any bonuses, or has an identical, cheaper counterpart is going down. (Like Zamorak Armor. It's identical to rune, but has the Zamorak design. No difference in bonuses.) This is because players would rather reap the rewards of PvP combat, and buy cheaper, but equally functional armor, rather than buy a bunch of expensive junk that has no point but to show off wealth. I expect that there will be a decrease in the price of party hats until they are under 25m, like when there was player killing in the wilderness. EDIT: Here's something: http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem.ws?obj=11928&scale=1 Click on the 30 days view. Ignore the messed up graph... If you look, you can see that this "pointless" item reached its peak price on October 15, the day PvP worlds came out. Same with most other "pointless" items.
