  1. True but I'm sure they get discounts since they always have 4 or more in one locations. Probably, but this isn't a website server - this is a game server, undoubtedly requiring top end power to manage 2,000 clients simultaneously. All drop\hit generation as well as running\movement AI for NPCs and players is handled by the server; it's far more then "run this ASP page". Jagex doesn't use ASP anyways, it's probably JSP; perhaps Perl and/or PHP. I love how people think the server sends 3d models and other content large in size constantly, it's so entertaining to read their posts. Besides, Jagex fails at web design anyways. :P http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.runescape.com%2Ftitle.ws&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.654 Why even bother to put a DOCTYPE if you're not going to validate against it?! They should be using XHTML 1.1 anyways. *goes off grumbling how 95% of the web developers in the world should be banned from computers until they learn better* Only one reason alone: for the sake of: "Internet Explorer compatibility". 70% of Internet users are on IE, the last thing for a website to do is to strictly conform with WC3 standards and make their website look terrible for 70% of the planet:P. If you ask me: Marketshare = standard. The one that dictates the market, dictates the "de facto" standard. As for the F2p cost, it's almost negligible for Jagex. Why? Because F2p servers are Jagex's "investment" -- a way to introduce new players to Runescape --- praying that they get addicted enough to subscribe for members. If your conducting a business, you'll do everything for your "investment". Protect your "investment", protects and secures your financial future.;)
  2. There is no safe car brand for a reckless driver. Same goes with a web browser, there's no safe browser for a careless user. It's called "Pebcak" (Problem Exist Between the Chair And the Keyboard) :P
  3. Well, probably the System Restore feature of Windows grew big and it took the disk space that your PC needs for virtual memory. Lowering the disk space allocations for System Restore under the System Properties control panel can help;)
  4. We just have to learn to relax, at the end of the day this is a game -- a place to derive pleasure, happiness and entertainment. We don't need to take every word other people say to us seriously;)
  5. At the end of the day, we have to realise this is a game --- we don't have to take everything that people say to us seriously;) chill.
  6. I really don't care if people says they dislike Runescape. As long as I still derive entertainment and leisure out of this game, I continue to play it;)
  7. Good in theory, but cannot be implemented practically. That clan chat shall be flooded with players eagerly asking their questions: The Jmods cannot keep-up for sure.;)
  8. Forging friendship with other people that are very far from you, that without RS there's almost no chance of talking to them in the first place.
  9. No such thing as bill of rights in Runescape, we all agreed to the terms of Service of Jagex. Jagex decide on where their game is going, it's their business in the first place;)
  10. F2p deserves everything that Jagex believes they deserve. End of story;)
  11. I will only agree with solicitations for girlfriend/boyfriend ingame, if Jagex markets Runescape as an "Online Dating Game". Right now it is not the case, so I agree with Jagex's position of not allowing solicitations like that;)
  12. Ok, this cannot be called debate since it's all about perception. Perception of a pro-mod, and perception of an anti-mod. It's like a debate about religion or politics, it's all about impression of the debaters about the topic at hand -- not facts versus another facts of the same intensity yet opposing sides. For me, if an individual keeps on looking at the "bad side" of everything -- he/she subconciously focus only with the negative stuff --- that's how a human brain works;) Think of a pure white paper, with two or three black dots on it. A negative thinker will always point out the flaws due to those dots, while a positive thinker will still consider the paper good. Right now, all I see on this thread -- after observing it for a week is it just going circles. I say there's no point of continuing, as arguments used by both sides basically are majorly based on personal biased perception. We see the same thing but interpret it differently, it is based with our "programming" -- the environment we are used to, how we are raised and the influential people that surrounds us. That's why this type of thread is not allowed to be posted at Runescape Official Forums, because it does not produce something productive -- it just breeds flaming, after flaming after flaming. Since this is a fansite and have relaxed rules, we end up seeing namecalling and flamebating like crazy:P I say it again folks, this thread died since the first post. Thank you for reading.
