  1. Okay sounds good. I'll try a few more times today. (Breaking from 79-80 fishing anyways.) Are the next rooms easier?
  2. I'm not too much of an authority on the subject; ranging HBS is costly - their drops won't likely cover the cost of bolts. And as you implied, you can only c'bow them because of the lantern. #-o Personally, I have them on my 'never assign again' list. They're not very good for slayer XP - and are a pain to kill IMO. But if you don't care, DDS them. They shouldn't be too bad. UGH I hate large tasks of monsters I hate. :( I love kerising kalphites for their decent blue charm rate though. :)
  3. I have 2/3 pyres lit after like 5000 tries. I know some people say to put all the logs on and then light them, but I never get to that point. I figured should at least get to the point where the game is saved, that way I don't have to restart with every trip to the cave. Are there ANY tips that can help me? I only need 2 more quests for my cape - and this seems more difficult than WGS looks. I've tried the following: - I Head directly to the far north 4 roots. Chop until the beast comes into attacking range. Each time the cave rumbles and the attack charges, run 2 roots over and chop until cave shakes again. Repeat. - While putting the logs on the pyre, I place a log, then run away when it charges up. Then when it charges the 2nd attack I use the log with the pyre. - And of course, I always take a spirit terrorbird with TR scrolls. - Equipment: Rune ax, spottier cape, and games necklace - Inventory: 10 sharks, tinderbox, bird pouch, 15 scrolls. Note: I really need tips on when the best time to eat is. I always get too caught up with running, and end up getting killed before I can eat - and for some reason I get like triple hitted so there's no time to even eat. I get K0'd.
  4. You guys are leaving out a very important quality that high leveled players have: dedication and ambition. This could very well be why they are smart and successful for the most part. For all we know, Zezima could be Bill Gates of the future. Nerd is such a popular term/insult for having originated from a 1950's Dr. Seuss book.
  5. idk that seems highly improbable that they'd tie the history quests into the fremmy quests... the history quests are about Guthix bringing his people to Runescape.
  6. What would you suggest for some alternate emotes? What I'm getting at is a lot of emotes are the only possible emotes, any others would not make any sense. Prayer - would you suggest burying a bone? LOL Ranging - shooting an arrow, yup that about sums up the skill. Fletching - making a bow... hmmm... Thieving - sneaking... what else could it be? Smithing - making various smithing items.... what else? Herblore - making a potion... how could that be replaced? Farming - growing flowers... irreplaceable IMO Woodcutting - what else do you do in the skill besides cutting trees? All of those skills would be nearly impossible to find an alternate idea for.
  7. I'd just like to discuss the possibility of the 'prophecy' being used for the next subquest grandmaster quest. There are multiple slabs of the prophecy and was maybe thinking that each subquest might be for recovering each of the parts. :D That would be fricken sweet. Or are there any other hints you've noticed?
  8. Or is it as complex as the combat formula itself? Just wondering if it was something simple to figure out like penguin points (25*Points spent*level).
  9. @Bedman, your skills are awesomely balanced o____o I wish I had the patience to train everything that evenly What it really boils down to is 2 variables: 1. All capes untrimmed & the quest cape have the same stats and are worth 100K. Those are the only visable face value. 2. Adding to #1, since those ARE the only visible face value of skillcapes, why should it matter? The owner is proud of it - who cares what the 11 year old fishing next to you thinks? ---- If training for a cape seems 'grinding' to you, then maybe that is the wrong skill to train. Easy does not equal fun. Quests are ALWAYS engaging, and hard. Skills are sometimes grinding for few, and easy. It depends what makes you feel accomplished. Repeating the same thing thousands of times, or keeping things fresh with quests.
  10. Where did the old Runescape go? When everything was not all about money to buy skills. When prayer wasn't trained by buying bones for 2k each then running to Guilded Alters with your war tortoise for weeks (or bull ant... or terrorbird). Other than herblore and farming, I mostly DIY train. (With acception to my 56 construction which I speed trained because I thought I could be one of the first to 99.. then realized how expensive it would be... ) I know this rant is sort of falsified by the logical opinion of "people have every right to do what they want, it's just a game", but it sort of reflects the world of greed we live in. Runescape is and will always be a peaceful place where I can just mine 1k iron ore and 2k coal, make 200 steel bodies and alch without having to worry about greedy merchants at the G.E. It also upsets me when I see untrimmed fishing, mining, and WC capes. Not just because they're selling their goods for pure/instant profit, but because they could have manufactured ALL that stuff collected and gotten another skill to 99. People do not realize the logic behind how easy Jagex made it to level up manufacturing skills. The reason why the XP ratios are so higher is not to make them buyable, that was not their intention, I'm sure! But instead, it gives people the freedom to level up in both skills, and have the choice to sell some of their extra raw goods if they wish. Note: I am not claiming that every XP that I have on my account is DIY, and that I haven't bought/sold raw goods for XP or cash. I am simply saying that people could have higher resource skills AND their secondary skills if they played the game how it was originally meant to be played. edit: Not to mention that for example... if you fished/cooked. You'd lose some of the potential profit, but you're still making pure profit anyways. And mining is better than wasting half of your investment in gold ore (since gold bars are like half the price of gold ores or something rediculous as that)
  11. I wouldn't say combat capes are any more difficult, considering it takes less attention. If anything, especially with the addition of Soul Wars, it's relatively easy. Heck, I borrowed a SS from a friend and busted from 80 strength to now being passed my fletching (both level 91 but more XP.. I think?) The only people who deserve TONS of respect for their combat capes are the ones that control train and get all 4 at the same time pretty much. considering Summer's End as well. DAMNIT, it's the only thing standing between me and my quest cape. I can't seem to do it right. I gave up sorta until I come back from Japan because I made the 2nd and 4/5 of the 3rd pyre, then was trying to get the last log put down when I got 1 hitted (triple threat wtf lol). I only have myself to blame though because if I had of lit the 2nd pyre instead, I would at least only have 1 to go even if I died.
  12. A really good thing about BA is since you can't see how much are in your bank after each load, you have even less of an idea how much experience you have gotten. And if you're listening to iTunes while you cut in cooperation with this mind trick, you'd be surprised how your bank looks in a short amount of time (what seems to be) of cutting. Same with any task. I find this good when I fish/cook monks DIY style for food or for cash/XP. edit: P.S. The reason why you can achieve this without a safety deposit box is if you put the item way far up in your bank so you cannot see it.
  13. If you're killing steel dragons for visage, I highly recommend NOT maging them (or ranging) as this requires you throwing money at the dragons. The obvious being said, drop rates are not solid fact. It is just a series of compiled tests - just like champion scrolls. Someone can get a champion scroll on their first kill, as there is always that possibility. The code of the given NPC is just set to randomize the drop a little heavier on other potentials rather than on the visage. If it's like any other possibility variable setting in java (which I know a little bit about), it is most likely done by listing a list of item tags under given NPC code for when it is killed, and the more repetition of a certain item, the more possibility of a drop. So a Steel Dragon might look like this: addy arrow, addy arrow, clue scroll 3, blood rune, blood rune, rune javelin, coins, coins, coins, coins, ETC ETC ETC random lots of drop possibilities...., d legs, visage. With just one possibility out of all of the listed items (and the repeats) to drop that item.
  14. Before I begin, I haven't memorized the spelling of Runescape areas, so sue me. :-# I've started to do some extensive searching and have found some intriguing (and sometimes disturbing) connections between our world and races, and Runescape's world and races/caste system. Here are some of what I found. Read all of them before making any prejudices. 1. Sophanem - I don't take any credit for Jagex's obvious illusions to Egypt. Let me start this section by saying that I do not expect anyone to be religious and am just using this as a comparison to locations in the real world. Sophanem IS Egypt. Okay, so this is fairly obvious that Runesecape is alluding to Egypt through the pyramids, but also all the 10 biblical plagues. Not to mention mummies, the Sphinx, and the cat storyline. Ictharlin also has the head of a Jackal. ;) AND scarabs both have mythological and hystorical places in Egyptian culture. 2. Pollnivneach Pollnivneach is Arabia, as in Aladdin's Arabian adventures. The Ali, snake charming, camel, and kebab stereotypes. The mayor lives a lot like Arabian sultans do... might I add. :ugeek: 3. Al Kharid Is India, the elaborate castle, hide tanner, and a couple of not so obvious stereotypes involved with the stores such as scimitars being sold here. 4. Ardougne - Seperated by a wall. - Divided into West and East. - The plague being on the side that Fascism was prevalent on (albeit I believe the plague is fake, emulating the antisemististic nature of Fascism) - The fact that the mourners ask you to make poison to use on the West. Which was one method used in the holocaust. - East Ardougne seems to have a booming economy which directly reflects Stalin's communism 5 year plans. 5. Ardougne, Witchaven, and Mort'ton This isn't a specific area connection, but more of a historical connection to all 3 of these cities. Their relative locations on the Runescape map align simularily to Germany, Italy, and Japan ~ which were the axis of power under Hitler's Nazi influence. Funny how they all seem to have an illness. :geek: 6. Moonclan Island and Rellekka The Moon Clan is Norway. They seem to self sufficient without any specific private enterprise. - They are an island nation. - They seem to be 'mystical', which alludes to how well off Norwegians are. (free education, free healthcare, free land). - They all seem to have that Socialist attitude toward working together to make each other better. - Norway has a very strict immigration standard. Most of them actually are refugees. But I think this is reflected on their not liking outsiders. 7. Neiznot and Jatizso I don't know how they work exactly because of my lack of knowledge of the particular countries but because of demographics and their geographical location, they are most likely Sweden and Finland. 8. Iceberg and Wilderness The former U.S.S.R, I believe this because espionage (spy penguins alluding to Russian spies in tuxedos like James Bond). Not only I think the wilderness because of it's vast size and geographical location, but because a lot of WWII wars were fought on U.S.S.R soil, and the Mage Arena is fairly close to where Stalingrad would've been. 9. Karajima Jungle (Maybe Ape Atoll) Obviously North Africa because of the jungles, huts, and tribal culture. 10. Oog'log South Africa. I came to this conclusion because of the whole white supremist idea that the entrepreneaur shows in 'As a First Resort...' almost as if she is "civilizing them". A lot like during the attempt to imperialize Africa. 11. Mieyardcth (LOL ... spell check major...) Communist almost total taxing (blood tithes) and sweat shops (mines slavery) or the mine slavery could also be referring to collectivization... but I have no doubt this is a reference to communist China. Disclaimer: I don't condone the racial slur undertones in the races such as that of Ogres.
  15. This is why I'm happy I'm getting my quest cape soon. :ohnoes: So I can at least have it for a little while. I just finished RFD, it took me forever to do the monkey ambassador part because I lost my greegree/M'speak amulet. This morning @ 3:00 AM I finished Mourning's End Pt II. I'm on track to finish the last 3 quests on my list before Thurseday (as I am leaving to the airport at 4:30 AM Thurseday morning). 8 DAY JAPAN TOUR FTW. \
