  1. Happy birthday :D

  2. Have a Happy Birthday!

  3. This is my first entry in my tip.it blog so, it might be long. I've been playing Runescape on and off for years; I joined 2-3 months after they introduced RS2 and free-to-play people could still play Classic. I regrettably never got around to playing Classic. I don't remember the year or what my very first account's name was, I just remember making my second account a few short weeks later; Muffin Daddy. I'm a girl, but this was a nickname that my (ex)girlfriend gave me, due to my love of Muffins and "Muffin Moma" sounded awkward to us. I played a lot on Muffin Daddy, mostly because I had friends that played that I met in a Yahoo chat room (back when you could have user submitted chats), they kept me motivated to play. The more I played on free to play, the more frustrated I became with the lack of content available for f2p people. So, I asked my friends what I could do; they suggested that I either buy members, try pk'ing or quit. Only one of those was even possible for me and that was to try pk'ing. I went with one of my friends out in the wild and accidentally hit him while trying to walk, getting skulled. We walked around until we found some other players collecting planks and I went in for my first kill. I killed him and didn't get a whole lot, just addy plate legs and some planks. We ran to the bank and restocked on food and went back out, this time, a higher level friend of the person I just killed stalked us until we were deeper into the wild, acting like he just wanted to go kill other people with us. Eventually, he started hitting my friend and he tele'd out and pm'd me to do the same, I lagged while trying to do Varrock teleport (because I was still on dial-up) and died, losing everything I owned of significant value (full rune). I just stared at my screen as I saw my bare character standing in Lumbridge. As the shock wore off, I just became completely ticked off with Runescape and thus, I took my first break away from it and started playing other games. Time went by and I found myself back on runescape, fishing and cooking lobs on Karamja to make up enough money to get full rune again. This was before Grand Exchange so, if you wanted to sell anything, you had to stand around and spam what you were selling. I eventually got the money together and got back into the swing of playing regularly, not stepping foot into the wild ever again. I played so much that I got burnt out on playing and went back to playing other games. It was in that period of time that my (at the time) girlfriend and I broke up, I was devastated and I think I was playing Flyff at the time. I was bored with Flyff though so, decided to play RS once again, but I couldn't play on Muffin Daddy anymore, the name was tainted and the only thing I could do, at the time, was make a new account and start fresh. It was in this period that I'd make a new account and try to out-do Muffin's skill levels, I'd always play and play until I got bored, take a break again and come back and create yet another new account. As it stands, I have 16 Runescape Accounts because of this. In October, 2009, I made the account that I currently am playing on, to make videos for Youtube, demonstrating how fast you could level your skills in just a month. I never had any intentions of playing the account longer than 1 month, but due to the popularity of the vlog series, I decided to play on! It was because of my subscribers that I finally, after so many years of f2p, decided to get members for the first time. I was bombarded with new information, new skills, new equipment, new everything. I had to try doing everything and I did. Around January, I did take a break from Runescape, my membership was due to run out and I had a trip to The Netherlands that I had to get ready for. I was going to meet my girlfriend for the first time, on our 1 year anniversary and Valentine's Day. Soon as I got back from my trip, I was bored and decided to pick back up where I left off on Runescape, I got members again and trained some skills randomly and it dawned on me, seeing so many people running around with skill capes on that had been playing far less time than I have. I have no 99's... I have nothing to show for the time and effort that I've put into this game. I've become determined to get a 99, I'm going for one of the easier ones, but in my eyes, it's still something worth working hard for. 99 Fletching, here I come.
  4. If they are using google for ads, it shows up on any site that is funded by adsense; It could be major websites to blogger blogs. Some are good resources, some are bad, but the point is, Jagex doesn't get to choose what websites their ads are placed on. I just hope it does bring in some more people to the game, I don't care who they are or how old they are. More and more people are quitting and RS just need more players. I just hate seeing people quitting because they are whiney butts over Jagex having updates that they don't like or take the time to understand. (Well, boohoo, get over it or /wrist please.)
  5. is working away on fletching.

  6. I think it's a new mini-game, or a new area/town with (a) new quest(s). Probably something to do with that big, unlabeled castle thing, in the east wild (north of Slayer Tower), that showed up on the map a while ago.
  7. In today's gaming industry, kids are expecting very flashy graphics in their games and even though RS released the "High Detail" version which is nice (compared to the old version), it just can't complete with newer games that are being released. People usually clump RS into the same category as WoW, which one do you think kids are going to want to spend their money on for a membership? It also doesn't help that people bash on Runescape all the time, saying that if you play it, you're a [insert derogatory word of your choice]. For teen boys, this is very off-putting, to think that they will be thought of as [insert that word again] if they play this game. It would seem that Jagex doesn't want to put too much money towards advertising (though, while I was in The Netherlands in February, I saw the commercial).
  8. I don't know when the "golden days" of Runescape could really be. I joined a few months after they brought out RS2; when f2p'ers still had an option to play "RS1" if they wanted to. I don't even remember the year, it feels like forever ago though. Heck, I don't even remember my first username. I've taken too many long breaks from Runescape to feel comfortable enough with myself and skill levels to call myself a "veteran." Not to mention I constantly made new accounts to try to out-do my (at the time) "main" so, I have lots of accounts with crappy levels. -Last year, in November, I finally bought members for the first time on a new account, I'm sticking with that one now, no matter what.
  9. I have so much stuff I want to do for the weekend, but no idea where I should even start. I'll probably end up doing Agility. I wanted to do Summoning, but I just don't have many charms. I think most places are going to be too crowded and laggy to do much of anything else. I can get extra exp in certain skills any other time, with Sacred Clay stuff. I'm going to try to get to skills that I can't use SC items in.
  10. The site just switched to a new domain. People were talking about it in a CC I was in this morning. In my opinion, I think Jagex should deal with botters a lot more harshly than they do right now. -I know people who bot and don't think it's a big deal, mostly because they are young, careless and selfish... Not to mention their power freak issues.
  11. I was actually called a "nub" by his friends simply for resting beside where they were chopping, that's what caused them to start talking about the "meditating" being ridiculous. And yeah, I'm f2p because I fear p2p; simply because I get bored with games so quickly that I'd feel like I wasted my money... not that it's a lot of money for membership, but still... I don't want to feel like I HAVE to play just because I paid for it. :/
  12. Today, I noticed Jagex implemented the Rest feature in RS like they had mentioned earlier. I thought I would test it out running air runes and it was working pretty well and I always stopped at the yew tree by the south entrance to Fally to rest and talk to the WC'ers. Well, there were these two guys there chopping just as I was fixing to log off after this last run and they were talking about the changes that RuneScape has made over the past years. I must say that I, for one, am happy with the changes in RS. Despite my level, I've been playing this game since I was a teenager, right after they released RS2 and I think that a lot of the changes are good ones. But these guys were just down right bashing all the updates and saying that the "meditating" (talking about the resting function they just added) was completely ridiculous and they could understand small changes, but not big ones. I never saw any big changes in RS other than the better quality and smoother gameplay. Normally, I would brush this off, but as a female, I'm nearing that week of the month where everything in the world pisses me off... So, I just had to say something (stupid me). All I said was "whine" "complain" "sob" and one of the guys in God armor stands infront of me and says "overrated nub" and I was just like "Games evolve whether some of the players like it or not" and he just stood there hovering over me (I was resting on the ground) "U need a life reaaallllll bad I know where you can buy one 1/2 off... Walmart! u look real stupid sitting in the grass pooping ur pants man" which I simply replied "I'm female in rl" which brought a slue of gay bashing jokes about me wanting to be a guy in RL simply because my avatar on RS is male (I like my RS name because it's an old nickname that my best friend gave me and I've had the account for a very long time and it'd look kind of stupid to have a name "Daddy" with a female character). This not only pissed me off because of the pure ignorance of what he was saying, but I'm also a gay female that has trans* friends. I just sat there quietly and let them continue to bash me even though I said hardly anything (let alone bad things) to either of them. So, I gotta ask why some players (mostly male, I've noticed) have to just bash on anything and everyone that has an opinion that isn't their's? [Completely unrelated rant] I feel bad avoiding the question of "How old are you?" Why? Well, it seems like every time I say my age to someone in game, it's like "omg ur old y u play dis game? i bet i wont still play dis game when im ur age" I'm only 22 and I've been playing on and off since I was a teenager. Maybe some of you won't feel like you've wasted your time if you just up and quit when you get "old" but I can't just quit for good and be happy with that. I'll probably take many more breaks from RS when I'm bored with it, but I know that I will always come back to it eventually. So, when you're "old" could you quit a game because you think you're "too old" to play even though there are no age restrictions after you're 13? Would it really be a matter of not wanting to be bashed on as opposed to not wanting to play anymore? This is of course if you have free time with nothing to do when you're "older" because apparently little kids think adults have no free time away from work, family, lovers and friends and if we do, we don't want to spend it playing video games.
  13. I didn't lose/drop the ring, I didn't put it in the bank either; I never had the ring because Explorer Jack didn't give it to me in the first place. Yes, I'm sure I have fully completed the Diary, all tasks are marked through and all sections are highlighted green. Thank you everyone for your replies. I filed a bug/glitch report with Jagex and maybe I'll get a reply; If I don't, well I guess I'll just go without.
  14. I talked to both Bob and Ned, they said they could give me upgraded versions of the ring. I can't get Explorer Jack to give me Explorer Ring (1) so, I obviously can't upgrade what I don't have.
  15. I've just now gotten around to doing the Achievement Diary. I've completed the entire thing (Beginner, Easy and Medium Tasks), but when I talk to Explorer Jack, he doesn't give me my ring. I've clicked every option he offers and nothing... (I even talked to him after finishing just the beginner tasks and he didn't give me anything.) Is there is something I'm missing? All tasks are checked off and all of them are green. I've relogged, switched worlds, everything... Am I just destined to not have the ring? If so, I guess I wasted an hour and a half of my night that I could have been training. :wall:
