RuneScape Information

  1. On the surface that looks horrible, but I don't think the number of actually *players* has fallen that much. 1) fewer bots and gold farmers 2) fewer people with multiple accounts (i.e. pures) Will I hazard a guess the true decline in subscribing players, no. But I will say it's less than the gross numbers seem to indicate. Though with out argument it is a major decline in revenue from subscriptions even with the price increase.
  2. A recolored Captain America Shield? Will we get Thor's hammer too?
  3. I thought about this. Most of the things available for us to make take only a few energies. Add to the fact that they gather pretty fast, I've decided to lvl and not worry about the future, at least for these first few days. I can always go back and collect them when the time comes.
  4. yeah, I would like to say I would be asleep right now if it wasn't for my terrible neck ache, but I'm done lying to my self this year. I'm a chronic insomniac and a new skill could be released any moment (even though it will probably be at least 2 hr, knowing jagex time). I know why I'm not asleep. Insomnia+Excitement= being awake at 4 am after laying in bed for ~two hours going, "I will fall asleep and be somewhat rested for new skill, I will, I Will!!" No, you wont, stop lying to yourself. After all, your neck hurts
  5. But... this logic bother me. The whaler is obviously an awesome fisherman, he catches whales. And the assassin is good at theiving/sneaking stuff... and the mage women is so magically awesome she's immortal... and the missionary is so devoted to sara... Nevermind, like said, logic is punted out of play, it's too late to try to bring it back anyway. It's Jagex. Though why I'd want to send random Joe into the eastern lands simply because they admire my Divination and have no skills of their own boggles my mind. I've always thought the person that needs to get on the boat to the eastern lands was me anyway. If 99 Div will let me go, it will be my fastest 99 ever.
  6. Interesting, sure, but they have already said in the BTS video that the skill cape would be on a stand because no NPC had mastered it. If they then gave us a 90 divination adventure I think it would be kind of odd, at least in the couple of months following the release of the skill. I'm not against it, per say, I just don't think it fits, lore wise. So in other words, what you're saying is that it makes perfect sense to Jagex to make a lvl 90 Divination adventurer. Darn, my own logic destroyed by the logical illogical of Jagex logic. I bow to your superior understanding of jagex's logical illogical. I toff my hat to you, good sir.
  7. Oh, I'm sure they will get around to fixing lumby, just as quickly as [spoiler=they've fix]the damage the dragonkin did to Edgeville. Maybe they can get them both on an HGTV show.
  8. Part of it is i just feel its particular ludicrous that we are *paying* for help. I'd have gone to Fally and Vorrock and Al Kharid and been like, if you don't help stop this here, it's only going to spread, you guys are literately a 2 minute run from the battle field. Get you butts down here to defend for the good of RS. We must hang together or we will all hang separately. Add that to the ludicrous presupposition that underlies all this that any mortal armed force can have any effect on a battle between two *gods* and it just seems such a waste of gp that could be saved to try to fix things, or help non-combatant refuges to safety, or something. On top of that, if I was one of gods, and saw a third armed force gathering outside my camp, I might just think that it was the work of some other god, and team up with Zammy long enough to squash this new threat before it became a threat. Just sitting here thinking has made me come up with more reasons why this is such a terrible approach. But I really agree. If Jagex wanted a "good" outcome, they should have done this whole duke thing differently. Otherwise it's just going to be decided by a bunch of teenagers, that through no fault of their own, really don't have the life experience to budget or people that just don't care because it's just a game. Which it is, but I just don't like the idea that lumby's going to look like a broken down slum in game from now on. It's embarrassing how much game time it took me when I stated playing to get out of that place. edit: And ALG is right, we don't know what the future holds for the events. But I just get this feeling that it's not going to be good. It's my natural pessimism.
  9. We don't need that title. We play rs. Most people realize that within 10 minutes of meeting us. I'm probably just speaking for myself though. :?
  10. This is basically what I told my sister (who plays RS) after I found out that the duke thing was being decided by the players. Irritating that so many people don't seem to get the concept of budgeting our funds. Though tbh, the duke started this with so little money, I think he maybe needs a lesson or 3 on kingdom management. Maybe he should talk to the manager of Misc, she seems to be doing a pretty good job, even though she is in a deep state of bereavement .

  12. Do you know how hard it is to color coordinate when you can change the color of your skin too! It practically doubles the problems of finding a fetching frock. It's taking the gods so long to manifest on rs because they are like trying to get teenage girls out the door in the morning. The hair, the makeup, the 20 clothing changes, at minimum 3 shoe/sock changes. It's no minor miracle that Sara and Zammy are here already. Do you think that facial hair teases itself so fetchingly? Ok, so maybe god hair does style itself, but still, that's about the twentieth beard Sara tried, and he stood in front of the miror for an hour trying to find the exact right shade of cyan to go with his robes. And the less said about Zammy quest for wings that seemed imposing without seeming overwhelming, the better. After all, he didn't want anyone to think he was compensating for something with the wings. Gods, such little prima donnas. edit: and you don't even want to know how many times Bandos has said "does this make me look fat?" What do you think Bandos, really?
  13. http://services.rune...the-scenes-2009 under the hood update we all benifited from: http://services.rune...-finding-update There was a lot more suppose to be happening than update dead areas. edit: user feedback at the time. http://www.tip.it/runescape/times/view/319-wake-up
  14. Oh, but IMPORTANT things were going on under the hood! Doesn't that satisfy you lust for new content! SOO ungrateful. STOP YOUR WHINING. Don't you even care about the FUTURE OF RUNESCAPE! /s In a more serious note, I'm sure they did a lot of work, optimizing code, stuff the player used ever day but never saw, but it was so.. unsatisfying and caused a lot of rancor in the community. And I don't see anyway to do any kind of no update only upgrades without the upgrades being something the player cant see. Sure they can do graphical reworks and that is all well and good, but I don't think that is exactly what people want either. What I'm saying is the best upgrades are infrastructure upgrades that we wont ever directly be able to see. More than that, it comes too late. Jagex can point at RS now and go, we have particles, and bloom, and this and that all because of the year of upgrades. But the player that quit because of that no content year are not around to hear it. They have to figure out a way to do updates and upgrades. Or do it over the shorter term. Maybe a month of upgrades with a large chunk of content at the end "made possible by our new upgrades under the hood". Or something. The average player *Needs*, like it or not, new content to keep them happy.
  15. >.> you mean like "the Year of Upgrades". I'm not sure too many people are still around that remember that time, but after all the craziness and the discontent and everything, someone is back around to requesting one again. It's almost like history repeating itself over and over. The Year of Upgrades was a great idea in theory. In practices, practically no one wanted to play a game for a year with almost no new content. So please, no, NO Year of Upgrades V2.0. You think the player base is bad now, wait until half the player base is bashing jagex for no new content and the other half is basically saying that they are being whiny babies and jagex is not giving them new content "For The Good Of The GAME" and then the other side, every week is like *whine, whine* "we dont care about the game, we want shiny new quest nao!!!" and rinse and repeat every week for a year... I think I'm having flash backs... I think I need a cup of tea and a lie down.
