  1. I think the name itself is a pretty good clue: skill is a synonym of ability. A skill should be something you train to gain abilities or resources that are part of the game. This doesn't qualify. Jagex did say that they're coming out with dungeon outside of Daemonheim that require dungeoneering, and even then, who cares if it's not your average skill? Just because it tests your arbitrary rules as to what a skill should be doesn't devoid it from being a skill. And even then, who cares? It's a fun piece of content that literally everyone I've talked to has enjoyed. It's slow, yes, but never redundant like every other skill in this game. I don't feel like I need to take a break and do something else after an hour of training, as I normally do with every single skill I've trained thus far. I'm still going to hold judgement on whether or not these rewards are unbalanced or not. Just as I said before, haters gonna hate, and just because the skill seems unbalanced as of right now, it doesn't mean it will be after the next batch is released. You also don't know the EXP gains at higher levels. As far as we know, the time it's taking to complete one level in the sub 70's is the same amount of time it takes to complete a level past the 80's, in which case the slowness of the skill "pays off," to an extent, once we hit higher levels. This obviously means that tokens roll in faster as well, making the token limit on the high level weapons not so unbalanced. As for why the level needed to wield the weapon and the actual level needed to buy it are so different is probably because Jagex intends to release more weapons/armor in the future. If you think about it, there's two really good reasons for this. First being that the skill goes to level 120, and we only have rewards to 80. Obviously, we're going to get rewards up past the 100's, so there has to be "room" in the hierarchy of levels to make new rewards -- I don't really want a [cabbage] load of rewards all packed in the 90's just because of the rate we get tokens in the game. The other reason is that, even though the level needed to buy the level 80 weapons is like 87, I still think it's way too low for such great weapons. All of those weapons cost 200k/hour to use, making them well worth their cost. There's no way I'd see those kinds of weapons being balanced in a level under 90 in any other skill.
  2. LMFAO, what was the boss? Must've been either very hardcore, or you just had a low level member with Gluttonous Behemoth as your boss.
  3. Basically, always choose difficulty for 1-2 players less than what you're going with, or you'll get screwed over if even one person leaves.
  4. They sell for a lot of money at the smuggler... So it might not be a typo. Never cared to check, since it was dropped by such a low monster. they are typos, i've equipped hailstones and frostbites before. you said you got a protector's ward today? does it have the accuracy bonuses? Well, I don't normally check for attack bonuses when I equip a shield, so I can't say for sure, but I definitely got def bonuses, so that pic is probably a typo.

  6. I got the Protector's Ward today as well, and it had decent defense stats. That pic shows no defense stats, so it's no doubt a typo. Edit: Ah God Dammit!#!@#!@3 I got Hailstone today, too!@#!#!3 ... Gonna check the dammed bonuses on armor drops all the time now...
  7. I've never tried this, but does the highest level forager give tier 10 materials at a good rate, or is it worthless, considering it takes less than 20 minutes to complete a dungeon?
  8. I got Shadow Silk's Hood today; forgot from where, exactly. Didn't do much good, since I could care less about being ignored by humanoids. I just kill everything that moves, either way. Edit: Blood Necklace *HAS* to be a typo... There's just no way, lol. I suspect that hitting 400's with your fists isn't what Jagex planned. If it is real, though, holy [cabbage]... I want that. Edit 2: OMFG!@#$!#!@#!@# I get frostbite daggers ALL THE DAMN TIME!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never knew it had such a higher str bonus...
  9. Actually, what you've shown is Corp might halve Leaf-Bladed Swords and Vesta Long Swords. That says absolutely nothing about others. What about the Hasta? I know no one uses it, but it's a one-handed spear. The word Hasta is latin for Spear. What classifies a weapon as a "spear" and what doesn't? I know there's a 50% damage reduction in place, primarily because Dark Bow special attack damage is halved. But we don't know what it effects, and "non-spears" is most certainly wrong. Doesn't poison work to full effect? Poison is not a spear. I also remember using the Dragon Dagger on the Corp a long time ago to decent effect. It could effect Hastas. It might not. It could affect Rapiers. It could not. It could even be a given list of weapons, in which case, Jagex may or may not have added the new Chaotic Weapons to that list. For all you know, the Chaotic Longsword could do double damage to the Corp... I'd also like to point out I've heard a million forms of this. Some people say it halves range damage. Some people say it halves non-spears. Some people say it halves STABBING non-spears. Some people say it halves Swords and Longswords. Hastas get reduced too, if it literally has the word "spear" in it it doesn't get reduced, or you would be seeing hasta + shield over lbs Poison is not a weapon Hastas get reduced, and surely rapiers will too For all you know Chaotic Longsword may hit 10x higher on all dragons, still doesn't mean its going to happen Do you actually have proof that Hasta's get reduced? I don't see videos of it anywhere. What about rapiers? There already ARE rapiers in this game. Have they actually been tried? And we've only recently gotten a melee weapon that gets a nice damage and attack bonus against Dagannoths - Balmung. It's quite possible, especially as they have no special attack, that the Chaotic Weapons may get a bonus somewhere... why not against the Corporeal Beast? I think I'm going to have to go with the dude that no-lifes Corp... :D If stabbing weapons weren't halved, we'd be seeing people using VLS + Divine to solo 2 kills/trip at corp, easily covering the cost of a non-corrupt VLS. Never tried it myself, but I'll just assume it halves everything but spears. I've tried Dragon Hally, and it definitely gets reduces, so that's all I can say.
  10. Almost always (never happened to me so far, but I'm only level 33), there are enough things given away by the actual fight itself, the monster examine/appearance, or the room it's in to figure out what to do in the fight.
  11. +4 in stews is A LOT rarer than +3. You can expect a +3 every few drink, but +4 is very uncommon. I tried stewing to ext range pots at 88 herblore, and I barely ever got a +4 boost. Once you get it, however, you can log out and constantly make some, but I have a bank pin... WTF have you been smoking? +4 is 1/10... And even with pin, I can make 1.5 invies before it drops one level, of normal x pots. OVS you make fewer, so its even faster. Exactly... 1/10 is rare. I suppose you only need to get it once, though. I could still make a ton more with 93 herblore (well, obviously), with a lot less trouble. I guess I'm saying this because I have no issues with blowing a crap load of money on herblore anyway (going for 99), so doesn't apply to most people. Edit: It's also almost 4/20... So there 10% is not rare dude. It's rare enough? It'd be a pain to make so many stews just for a small time to make pots, but that's just me. Read the second part of my post.

  14. Only need 3 more herblore levels before you can enter Otg, the elite monster hunting Corporeal beast pwning clan. Oh and you need 2 referals... >_> Why do they have a 95 herb req? You can make overloads at 92... Cheapest level you can make OL's cheaply and quickly is 93. They probably have a high Req so people can make OL's with greenman ales, not just stews.
  15. Anyone notice that the people fighting the Gluttonous Behemoth weren't blocking both the pieces of food?
