best setup for Nomad?

28 August 2010 - 06:21 PM

So, I tried a few months ago to beat Nomad, and after ...a million... times, got to where I could almost get him down to his final berserker attack. Anyways, I've worked on my melee/magic/ranged/prayer stats since then, and I think I want to try again. The biggest jump in my stats was from 75 to 81 ranged. Any suggestions for a setup at my levels (see sig)?

PS: I'm kind of poor. Lol.

A minor correction to dungeoneering guide

23 August 2010 - 07:19 PM

Hello! This is rather minor, but I noticed that under the "Skills" heading of the main dungeoneering guide page, the word "tier" is consistently misspelt "teir." Thanks. :)

sawmill: is it worth it???

19 August 2010 - 12:54 AM

I'm currently about 50k away from 82 woodcutting, and I was wondering if it's worth it to do sawmill tasks. I do have a crystal saw.

Is it better or worse, speed-wise, than ivy?

Oh yeah...and my goal is to get to 99. :)

I hate you, Jad...

16 August 2010 - 07:45 PM

I just have to let this out: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I feel a little better. :)

I've attempted the fight cave more than a dozen times now. Through trial and error, I finally came up with a setup that seems to work for me, and have made it to Jad ever since, without much trouble. Once I figured out my setup/strategy (ranged all the way), I can make it to the healers, and then I always proceed to totally lose my control of the situation! I keep freaking out and trying to take care of everything at once, I guess, and then don't watch Jad as closely as I should. I've gotten way better at switching prayers when the healers are NOT there, but haven't made it past them yet. It is so frustrating! I've spent countless hours working my way through all of the waves, just to die at Jad AGAIN...I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get that stupid cape. The rest of the waves are getting really old and time-consuming (AND resource-consuming!).

Same sort of thing with Nomad: he's the only thing standing in the way of being able to wear my quest cape again...and I generally make it halfway through him before I'm brutally murdered. :wall:

I guess the only way to *really* be good at this game is to be able to switch/multi-task...and have some good luck once in a while.

thinking about a clan...

10 August 2010 - 12:22 AM

Soooo, lately I've been thinking about finding a clan. The thing is, I'm 28-year-old PhD candidate that cannot always take time away from teaching/research/etc. in order to participate in "required" events. Also, I've noticed that in order to be a part of a lot of "mature" clans, you must have a high combat level and/or total level, and I do not; however, I don't want to join a clan in which I'd be treated like a noob. I'm an experienced player, and I enjoy pretty much everything about Runescape, but my play time varies wildly due to summer/winter holidays and school-related responsibilities. I just haven't trained any single skill up to 99! I guess the biggest reason I'm interested in clans is that I have only a few RS friends, and all of them are people I'm friends with in real life, including my husband. lol. ;) That said, we think it would be kind of fun to have other adults to chat with, and do things that require a team...hmm. Any suggestions/advice? Lol...I know I sound like a huge pain in the butt. ;)

(did I mention that one of my favorite things EVER is penguin hunting?!?!)
