  1. Can this? Probably. Will this? Probably not.
  2. Everyone minus one. And don't way it would be different if I was actually in the situation because I have been there. If that's truly the case, then you're either on a "do-it-yourself" path, a path that is NOT followed by every player, and while fun, is quite frivolous, meaning that it is not logical for you to pretentiously compare yourself to someone who plays the game by making the best use of its features. That's the same as comparing a level 3 skiller to a player that trains combat - the skiller is putting that goal in front of themselves, and has no one to blame if it's more difficult. The second reason you wouldn't accept donations is a psychological one - it's not that you don't want the money/have an interest in it, but rather you're denying it for the sake of being able to say you denied it. It's basic human psychology - If I offered the money to you right now, you'd say no, just because you don't want me to think that you'd ever accept it. But if someone offered such a large sum of money to you, and you know that no one would ever find out, unless you don't accept it for the previous reason I mentioned, you would be more than willing to take it. No I just prefer to earn things myself, you made all the wrong assumptions about my personality. Whether people find out or not is irrelevant because I know that I took it. I am not one of those players who complains about the game getting easier with updates such as runespan, nor am I the type of player who boasts "I did this when it was hard", I am proud of the achievements that I did at the time. Why must people think that runescape is a game of dominance? [/hide] If you didn't care whether or not people knew you took it, you wouldn't have responded in such a defensive manner. You said that you prefer to earn everything yourself, and all I'm saying is that you're doing that not because you find it amoral to accept donations, but because your goal is to do so without them. Responding to inaccuracies is not the definition of being defensive. Admit it, you made some poor generalizations. Instead of continuing to shape your poor assumption to some general line of agreeableness, why not accept that there are more reasons than you can fathom for why one would not (or would for that matter) accept a donation. I think if you read my explanation, you'll see that I realize that it was not worded well. If I expected it to be contested I would have obviously said it differently. Since I've explained the original intentions I had with my statement and said that I didn't want to continue it, I realize that now would be a convenient time to attack what I said, instead of doing so when I was actively defending it. If you actually care about the subject, and aren't responding simply because the other viewers of the thread will see, feel free to send me a private message - I'd be more than willing to explain my opinions. Lol don't make this out to be some conveniently planned out attack/me kicking you when you're down. I simply saw a ridiculous statement (more so being the defensiveness than your generalization) and felt compelled to comment. I'm sure you saw my explanation too then, seeing as the comment you quoted came after it. Again another false assumption. I read it and commented. Didn't feel the need to read everything posted and THEN comment. Probably should have, but what's done is done.

  5. These both fall into the categories that I mentioned; If your principle is "I must do it myself," then you fall into the first category I mentioned. This is you choosing to not accept the donations, because your goal is to complete task x without having someone else pay for it. That is not everyone's goal, so your playstyle is not relevant to their outcome. Other reasons that fit here: •Friend bet you that you couldn't achieve task x without accepting y •You want to know if x is possible without y •Two people racing to see who can accomplish x first without y •Government giving out huge checks to anyone that can accomplish 200M all without accepting any donations •ANY reason where you can chose whether or not you accept donations falls into this category Not wanting to be "That guy who got rich off of someone else" directly falls into my second category, the person who doesn't want others to think that they'd accept them. "You don't want to be that guy" is shaped around how others perceive "that guy" to be - you're tailoring yourself to not look as if you're one of those people, which means that you care what people who don't like "that guy" think, and as such, don't want them to think that you're "that guy." The type of categories you're creating is ridiculous. You can't analyze the general population with your own beliefs and what you believe others motivation are. As for the donations and in part the SOF (lol @ the guy who want's to discuss donations separately when the debate primarily arouse around SOF) It's simple, when you do anything in life you know that there will be people who support it and those who frown upon it. If you choose to through with it you should accept that the people who frown upon it to let it be known for whatever reason it may be that they don't agree the path you choose. Is this how communities should be like? No, probably not. However it's usually how situations arrange themselves. To SUOMI, I have no problems with accepting donations. Though, with that being said stop the complaining about the haters in a sarcastic manner or how much hate you get for accepting donations. With all the hate, there is plenty of support too. The last thing you want is to turn into Drumgun and start moaning about anything and everything. Take this like it is, I mean this in a positive manner, but I doubt you will see it like that.
  6. Oh come on... don't be so negative about it. This kind of thing doesn't happen every day, so just let people enjoy it. This kind of thing has been happening every day for a year. "This" being supporting suomi. Do you cheer for your favourite football team every game during the playoffs, but cease to do so when they reach the Super Bowl? He doesn't need motivation, and I don't think anyone here is trying to give him any - people are simply commenting because they're excited. Agreed. No one is forcing you to support him, however with that being said you shouldn't deter others that choose to do so.
  7. On which kind of achievement, 200m in all skills, 200m in Con in one day, or max gold? For the first, spending gold =/= max skills, or we'd have that already. For the second, it still takes a lot of effort beyond the mere gold involved. For the third, I wouldn't be surprised if a few people have done that already, but it would be pretty expensive... It was the second one, and to be honest I think the gold involved is the main effort.
  8. Not to promote RWT but what's to say someone who does, wouldn't also spend it on this type of achievement.
  9. With the introduction of free trade, 200B (though still an amazing feat) is more feasible. If someone would ever (I'm sure if RS is out long enough, someone will) attempt to do this, I would understand completely. Just for the shear reason of the amount of historical records that would be broken and made.
  10. Well I didn't think I'd have to connect the dots. But I simply asked what do you define as 'burning out'? I never said that you said you were, that was a conclusion I had drawn myself.
  11. I'd hardly say it's an argument, I posed a question and drawn conclusion and you gave an irrelevant answer.
  12. There should be no reason to get so worked out about the word 'burning out'. If you truly are so offended about it, why let all the e-trolls know so they can continue to annoy you. However with that being said, what's your definition of 'burning out'? What do you think it could possibly mean? It seems like a lot of people in this thread take this offensively because it has a negative undertone that the player in question could not handle to play rs no longer, when those words are thrown around usually to stop from posting a long list of potential reasons they could have quit. What's my point? It's only some words, if some simple ones like that can create such a reaction maybe the internet isn't the best place for the person.
  13. I hope that's just irony. Sarcasm*
  14. I still prefer DJ Zarfot - Silence, used in the past vids
