  1. Not too be the bearer of bad news, but Sy is right. They don't really want you switching bonuses in the middle of a fight. If you need to the boosts you can leave the room switch and come back. On a side note it really doesn't matter how you use the glory amulet, that doesn't make it a valid argument.
  2. Cooking: Marinading would be quite similar to real life where you soak a meat in spices to give it a new flavor. Except in this case you could saturate the meat with a potion. Ideally this would consume 1(+) dose(s) and provide you with a food that heals as normal, but also gives you the benefits of drinking a single dose of the potion that was used for marinading. This would be a useful and realistic ability and could produce some potent foods, such as rocktail marinaded in a Saradomin brew 390 lp recovery. Smithing/Crafting: We do not need higher hitting melee weapons and this is not what intended at all. More variety in weapons would be welcome though. Weapons on par with an abyssal whip with stab, crush, or the ability to train strength would be ideal. Such an update would provide alternatives to the few high stab/crush weapons we currently have. These weapons of course would not surpass Godswords, but provide decent alternatives to: abyssal whips, Zammorakian spears, chaotic rapiers, and the like. I feel this would be much more realistic than reflective melee armor, which still sounds like it might be a good idea for magic(nudge nudge wink wink). Quotes: "Ranged is already extremely accurate."..."Therefore, I feel it's best to improve strength." Zaaps1 "Do we really need higher hitting melee weapons?" Zaaps1 Thought this was interesting. Generally when Jagex improves one corner the other two get something as well, so be careful for what you wish for.
  3. I like your ideas and they seem very well planned out, although I think a few improvements could be made. Firemaking: Changing a fire wouldn't necessarily change the food cooked on it. I think making the fire less likely to burn food or letting you cook food that normally only cooks on ranges would be a better way to improve firemaking. Pushing the limits of firemaking, it is possible to light fires hot enough to melt metals. That's right I said it, although I doubt this will ever become reality in rs. Construction: I don't really think construction needs to be "revived" it also isn't an old skill, relatively. Construction does what it's supposed to do quite well, that is take money out of circulation. Any changes that did make it so construction is one of "the skills to train" would have massive repercussions on the economy of rs. Personally I don't even see construction as a skill that's supposed to have much of an impact on the game. Fletching:First of all I think the level requirements for the 4 improvements you've listed should be shifted up by one level each, as they currently overlap with ancient effigy levels and fletching is very easy to train. The ability to improve any rune or below ranged ammunition is a good idea, but I think accuracy rather than strength is where the weapons have room for improvement. The better you are at fletching the straighter your arrow shafts, the more accurate the arrows. Similarly improving a bow would effect mostly the accuracy not the strength. If you want to see stronger bows then I would say its time we introduce the draw weight on bows, this would of course require a crossover to strength. Cooking: It seems as if your suggestions for cooking give it distinctly herblore like properties. I think marinading the food might be a better option. Marinading food in potions would a be a very interesting and worthwhile twist. This would of course only act as one dose of potion and food requiring multiple bites wouldn't be ideal for marinading anyway. Smithing/Crafting: Your ideas to improve these skills seem overpowered. You also neglect the offensive capability of smithing. Improving your armor would entail: improved defense, changing the angles of the armor to let more blows slip off, and making armor that weighs less. While improving weapons could potentially: increase the reach of the weapons, make them faster, increase the strength of the weapons, or alter the stab/slash/crush properties of the weapon. I would only assume improved smithing/crafting would relate more to these areas than deflection abilities, which lies more in the realm of magic. Hunter: Your idea isn't a bad one, but hunter is already a fine skill. Mostly due to it's ability to make you gp, with this in mind players don't really need any more incentives to train hunter. Additionally these beasts should all require the same level to hunt.(do note the godswords, god armor(rune), croziers, robes, arrows, bows, mjonlirs, robes, cloaks, bodies, chaps, coifs, mitres, books, and stoles all require the same levels for all gods) Pardon my saying so, but "How very foolish of a mortal to try and rank the deities ."
  4. What leads you to believe that books are so worthwhile? Are you learning something from them? You might consider that should you read a book you are bouncing your ideas off those of the author(s). Should you play runescape though you have ample opportunities to bounce your ideas off of a multitude of people. Essentially you are free to have a discussion with anyone you see. Although I can see how you might think having discussions with people is a waste of time.
  5. If I've read this correctly then you want a cape indicating the year you made your account. This doesn't make any sense as when you made your account has no bearing on anything. Making an account isn't very hard. I rarely go about bragging how I made my e-mail account or anything like that, although to be honest I made an account on hotmail back in '00(impressed?). A veteran player could be playing on a freshly made account or someone who made an account several years ago could have just left it on tutorial island. These capes measure a quantity that has no bearing on anything. Even if they were to measure a more meaningful quantity such as hours spent in game, then they would still be worthless. You want to prove your skills? Go get a skillcape. You want a medal for making an account? Not going to happen.
  6. I don't know about you, but when I hit logout I want to logout.I don't want to have to watch a circle, even if it is red. This would also add unnecessary lag, which could well be noticeable in high lag areas such as the grand exchange.
  7. The concept of meshing skills and combat is a sound one. Although the way you have suggested is less than likely. Let me direct your attention to: living rock creatures, mine-able drops Evil trees-"killed" through woodcutting Bulwark Beast-mine through armor to attack These are more indicative of the direction in which combat and other skills are meshed. The evil tree being an example of how skilling monsters are represented in Runescape. They don't offer any combat experience and they don't hit you. I would like to see some new twists on the mixing of these skills, maybe drops you can fish for or access to certain dungeons through skilling(outside of Daemonheim). The core of your idea is a good one, but it can use a bit of refining. I look forward to whatever else you might come up with.
  8. The fact that you want these moderators to "kill" people displays the obvious corruption of this idea by your personal grudges. Please re-evaluate this idea calmly and see if you come to the same conclusion. Killing the players would likely cause them to lose items, which really isn't how Runescape as a game is run. There are already punishments in place, why do you feel they need to be altered? You should also realize that bots would not stop botting just because someone is watching them, they also wouldn't care if they died.
  9. I agree for the most part with more mage armor, and higher accuracy staves. Though I do think ancient magicks do in large part make up for some of the short comings magic has. Of course mages usually have extremely low defense to compensate for their ability to inflict massive damage, but last I checked it has the weakest max hit in 1v1 situations <_<. If it weren't for Ancients magic would clearly be underpowered as compared to other combat skills. Given that armors sometimes conduct magic, it might be dangerous for a mage to wear armor, they might cook them self inside their armor. Supposedly though the difficulty of mages wearing armor is the issue in making signs for their casts. Which should mean chain mail would barely interfere with casting, as it has no sleeves. I see no issue with armor for mages so long as it wouldn't impede the mobility of their arms.
  10. Three things real quick: -Adding this bar could very well add more lag to your already compromised connection -Pking while lagging is not an advisable activity -While skill isn't a huge part of combat in Runescape it is still a part, lessening the impact of skill on combat seems inadvisable
  11. Even assuming the original high scores remain, which I was assuming when i made my last post, this is not something I would like to see implemented. Mainly because it serves little purpose other than to letting some people be higher in some offshoot of high scores. This also seems like a bad idea in that it can be deceptive of your real rankings. I have trouble believing the effort that would go into making these new high scores would be worth the functionality, as it adds very little.
  12. Indeed you are right by a technicality, they are just as easy to acquire as the gems up to diamond. However you are FAR more likely to get opal, red topaz, and jade. Considering this getting opal, red topaz and jade is much faster than acquiring the other gems. Which is why they have historically and should have very limited uses. I'm not saying they shouldn't have more uses, but whatever uses they might gain should be extremely limited.
  13. It's interesting that you think players deserve whatever they pk without having to bank. Banking is a very real part of the challenge. The wilderness isn't really supposed to be fair, people taking advantage of other people is what it is all about. You can go to the duel arena if what your looking for is a fair fight and safe retrieval of your winnings. I would also like to point out that magic boxes don't work above level 20 wilderness for a reason. Banking is not supposed to be easy or certain for pkers. You can use pack yaks, but you need an advanced summoning level to use that method. Either way though banking in deep wildy will take you some work, be it getting 96 summoning or running through levels of wilderness.
  14. I do not support this idea. Automatically banking is a bad idea, it would be similar to allowing players to automatically bank runite they've mined in the wilderness. I quote "Pkers don't like the banking process of pking, so why not take it out.", really skillers don't exactly enjoy the banking process either so why not take that out as well? We don't allow people to do this because it is part of the game, they could bank if they really wanted to. I would also like to point out that there is virtually no chance Jagex will implement this, take a yak or some imp boxes if it's that big of a deal.
