RuneScape Information

  1. A 2h would be better for slash, and a maul for crush, but a 2h and maul together add a lot more weight, especially if you have a platebody as your 3rd bind. And, considering that most npc's that you face in dungeons are under 50 combat, the spear will definately be sufficient.
  2. He is almost certainly either previously been p2p or a bot. I have no idea how someone could stay under the radar for as long as he has. At any rate, Rie---Xie--X is still probably just as close to maxing (also Mss Klercken).
  3. Very accurate list in my opinion, Sonic, although I would think that cursebearer is faster than Har'Lakk and the Rammer, considering that he is often level 53 and can be killed in mearly moments. The Rammer can also have off floors and take quite a while to kill, whereas the Cursebearer is consistently fast.
  4. Although I can understand that Foot is quite a popular player for his fast training methods, he is not currently in the running for the first to 200m skills (although it could be said that everyone is in the race I suppose). With that being said, you don't see people congratulating El Popo1 on 100m Smithing and Firemaking, and yet he is closer to maxing. :(
  5. If you are F2P, you may want to consider either "Pure F2ps" or "Ttfs Cc", or the clan chat "tfs", which is opened to guests. The first chat (Pure F2ps) was a clan chat created by Isthatok, the current owner and updater of the Top 250 F2p List. You will find many of the top F2pers in that chat (signified with a general rank) that will most definately be willing to answer your questions. The last two chats, are the friends chat and clan chat of TFS, which is a Free to play skilling clan. Most people are very friendly in these chats and would love to help you. Welcome to the Tip.it forums by the way. ;)
  6. Well first I will say that I did not read all the posts that led up to my post here. There were several pages of endless conversation arguing over whether or not a platebody is good. Someone brought up that P2Pers rarely use a platebody until there 4th bind or even don't have one at all. There are several reasons for this; first: there are 5 combats in a dungeon for P2P. This means that for high leveled npc's, they can be cleared in a matter of seconds, therefore only delivering 2-3 hits which can mostly be protected with prayers. Therefore, offensive weapons are much better and there are many more of them. Also, 4 of the 5 players in a P2P floor are not keying or rushing, which is where a plate is most beneficial. Rather, they are clearing guardian doors and stuff which doesn't require a plate so much. As for the keyer, they will commonly have a plate bound as they are always rushing and have little time to pick up food. In F2P: A platebody is without a doubt required. A) in small floors, 75% of the rooms are rushed, whereas 25% or less are guardian doors and are needed to be cleared. This means that 75% of the time you are taking damage but not receiving any. Therefore, your rapier/(other offensive bound weapon) is doing nothing for 25% or more of the time. However, a platebody does stuff for you 100% of the time, whether or not you are rushing through a room or clearing it. With larges, it is also similar. Allthough guardian doors probably make up 40-50% of the rooms (maybe less), your rapier is still doing very little work for you. Any low leveled npc will die by a spear regardless of the attack style. A high level npc may be weak to stab (which is where a rapier is good) but the spear still hits much better through the high leveled npc's defence, therefore making a rapier somewhat pointless. Others argue that a platebody zaps there energy. In small floors, by making cosmics/laws at the beginning (hopefully have one of the two bound), you will not have to worry about energy in a small. In larges, with all the guardian doors, you will have time to recover energy in those rooms. Also, smart conservation of energy and proper gatestone placement can definately benefit the amount of energy you have in larges.
  7. Well I have been reading this discussion (argument) about the best binds in F2P Dungeoneering. I would say that I have reasonable experience in Dungeoneering (90+ Dungeoneering on 3 accounts, 108 on best) in F2P, most of which was done in W61. I would just like to add my thoughts. I have personally thought about binds and all that quite a bit and I have come to this conclusion. Bind 1: Spear - Unless you are a) A pure (don't want to train Defence) or b) much higher Ranged than melee stats, the spear is by far the best option. Lighter than other weapons, it has very good stats for all 3 attack styles, and with it's somewhat fast speed and its versitility, no weapon comes even close to it melee wise. Ammo bind: Laws or Cosmics - It really is a toss up between these two. Assuming you bound a spear for your #1 bind, teleport runes are definately a must. By binding cosmics, it is much easier to start floors (specifically smalls) right away, by gating the home room and then running into the first room possible and if it is a guardian door, clear it and loot a bit of cash so you can buy a tool kit (tk) and a few essences for Laws. Law runes can also be helpful as you can generally craft cosmics 2x faster than laws. However, I personally bind cosmics. ;P Bind 2: Platebody - I understand that many people will not agree with this, but I hope to persuade you that this is the better choice. A bind like gauntlets boost your strength bonus by +4, which is approximately 6% or so more damage. That is a very little extra boost. A platebody on the other hand, has decent stats (not sure where the people previously got there ideas about it having poor stats), and it will save you from having to heal probably 1500+ lifepoints on a large floor. I will agree that platebodies don't have much use on small floors where you generally don't need food, but you don't generally run out of energy on small floors either, so it really isn't a hinderance that way. In that case, it would appear that gauntlets would be the better choice for small floors and a platebody would be better for larges. But switching between the floors is quite clearly not a legitimate option. So you have to choose. Are gauntlets worth 1500 (this number may be off, but I don't think so) lifepoints that have to be healed on a floor, or is a platebody worth +6% damage. It's kind of like weighing up the mask (don't know the name) that gives attack bonuses in comparison to a rune full helm. Which would you choose? I guess i'll leave it up to you guys, but from my experience, a platebody is much more effective. Bind 3: Spinebeam Shortbow - Assuming that you are 100 Dungeoneering, you will generally have higher Ranged. I would suggest getting a shortbow as you will often spawn fractite arrows in the start room for larges. I wouldn't bother looting arrows on smalls, as you don't really need them that much, but they may benefit your more than gauntlets would on a large. This bind is really a toss up, and based on what you previously chose as binds, it could also be another attack weapon like a maul (which adds a lot of weight by the way) or a rapier (spear is probably just as effective but rapier may help with mono's/low leveled npc's). I have also seen a lot of discussion about some of the top F2P Dungeoneers and their binds. I will try to discuss their binds and their reasoning behind it. Puremudkipz (level 89, 112 Dungeoneering) Binds: Spinebeam shortbow, Fractite arrows (125), Fractite 2h, Fractite Maul Pure is 99 Ranged, so he uses Ranged for the most part in his dungeons. He has 16 Defence so any armour that he can wear has virtually no effect so he decided to bind a Fractite Maul has his 3rd bind so that he has an effective crush attack (2h's crush isn't very good) against skeletons that you will commonly encounter on abandoned floors. The trade off his that a maul weighs a lot (around 9 kg I think). However, because he has no plate bound, his total weight isn't very high and therefore it doesn't come as too much of a hinderance for him. Kadour Ziani (level 124, 116 Dungeoneering) Binds: Fractite Spear, Fractite Platebody, Spinebeam Longbow, Cosmic Runes (125) Kadour is arguably the fastest Dungeoneer in F2P. He is extremely efficient in dungeons and is quite knowledgable about how Dungeons work. Fractite spear and platebody are chosen for reasons listed above. He chose a spinebeam longbow so that on large floors, for bosses such as the night-gazer and the shadow forger, he could Ranged them. Generally, Kad won't loot arrows on small floors, expect when Lexicus is a possiblity as the boss. He also binds cosmic runes so that he can rush small floors immediately. Isthatok (Level 126, 106 Dungeoneering) Binds: Fractite Spear, Spinebeam Shortbow, Fractite Gauntlets, Fractite Arrows (125) Isthatok is one of the most efficient Dungeoneers out there. His binds allow him to have versitility in dungeons that a player like Kadour doesn't generally have. However, Isthatok pays for it in the speed he can do smalls in, as he has to create runes in it. His lightweight (no plate) often helps him on larges, but it also can hinder him as he will often have to waste prayer to stay alive on npc's that don't generally require prayer and/or will have to loot food, although he is often efficient about that and doesn't lose anytime looting. The fact that he is 99 Defence and 98 Prayer helps him support the binds he has, but not many players could effectively do so without a platebody to help them stay alive. Those are the 3 most diverse cases that I can think of for the top Dungeoneers in F2p. You can probably personally ask Isthatok about his binds, as he commonly posts on the tip.it forums. It really is up to you guys though for your binds. In the end, it's all about having fun and if your binds are causing you to be unhappy, why use those binds. ;P
  8. Even if the exp was cut for everyone (no dependency upon combat level) skillers would still be used. It is just a straight up fact that doing a dungeon with 2 combats and 3 skillers is much faster/easier than one with 5 combats. The added experience should just be more insentive to find level 3 friends who are willing to Dungeoneer with you.
  9. Personally, I like F2p the way it is. I would be perfectly content if no more content was released for F2p.
  10. After doing a bit of training at Ice giants with rune scimitar and gravite rapier I came up with these numbers: Exp gained with rune scim using slash (agressive): 20.5k exp/hour approx Exp gained with gravite rapier using stab: 25k exp/hour approx With this information, and the fact that Gravite Rapier lasts for 10 hours... You could 45k exp in a desired melee skill extra for 100k cash + 10k tokens (or whatever for recharge) or 1m. If you are flipping while you training/banking, you should be easily able to make 1m in 10 hours. So I guess it is up to you. If you are willing to spend 1m cash for saving approximately 2 hours of training.
  11. 10k tokens takes less than 2 hours. 100k cash should take no time if you flip. Otherwise, making 100k cash from npc drops shouldn't be a big deal. One round of GOP could cover this cost if you are opposed to either of the two options above. As for the stats, +4 Strength bonus is quite a bit. And since the stab bonus on a rapier is +43 greater than a scimitar's, clearly it is much more effective against npcs (as stab is most npc's greatest weakness). Sure, if you are training at zombies, a rune scimitar may help you out more than a gravite rapier, but in most cases, a gravite rapier is much better.
  12. I completely disagree. The rapier is not a waste of tokens. It speeds up training, and at a cost of like 100k + a few tokens? That is well worth it in my opinion, especially when you can easily make 3m a day flip merchanting or 350k gp/hour Gop'ing.
  13. For Runecrafting, Body talismans + body tabs (use Daemonheim teleport to bank) round out to about 40k exp/hour if you remain focused. It averages out between 15k-20k exp/hour if you include the time required to get tabs. For Mining, I have heard that 45k exp/hour is the max, powermining with urns, however I have not tried it. Woodcutting can easily reach 65k and possibly top out at 70k or so, with urns, powercutting at places such as Woodcutting Island, or anyother place with a few willows. Dungeoneering can top out around 90k exp/hour in f2p, although 50k exp/hour is much more standard with friends. You might hit 30k exp/hour in World 7. Fishing is approximately 45k-50k exp/hour, possibly even close to 60k at best, powerfishing trout and salmon with urns. All of these exp/hours are at maximum concentration in the best conditions.
  14. Powermining is around 12k exp/hour faster now with urns released, in comparison to Mining and banking ores at the Dwarven Mines. As for the earlier post about banking efficiently... It is faster to bank by left clicking your ore and using it on the deposit box. You will be shown a message in the chat box that will allow you to deposit all. You can do this method and save 1-2 ticks. Also, first post on the tip.it forums. ;P For those of you who don't know me, I am Eggs Yoke, or Mining Eggs. Hope to chat more with you guys. :D
