I think it's time to remove the rose tinted glasses, this is getting out of hand!

The account named 915 is Mod Hamilton. He has 33m total xp.. shows how much you need to know about this game.

While I agree that Jmods who develop content should play the game to some extent... imagine:

You work 9-5 making cabinets. When you come home after work, do you want to spend another 5 to 6 hours making more cabinets? No, you wan't to relax and do something else that you enjoy.

I think its really unfair and unreasonable that so many people expect Jmods to work on the game all day and then come home and put in 10 hours towards maxing their account. It's really not.. humane, almost.

That's not quite right though.  It would be more like coming home to use the cabinets for a few hours.  Making Runescape isn't the same as playing it, remember.  Unless you're QnA, but loljagex having that.

Can't find one personally, does seem strange to have the option there with no function though. Dulcin's journal is quite interesting (and puntastic)

For anyone who can't put 2 and 2 together:

It was only a waste if you didn't enjoy it, IMO.

So, if I enjoy playing with legos 10 hours a day from age 13 -> 23, it is not a waste of time/life?

If you played with legos for that long, you would probably have some amazing building skills. Sounds like a good investment to me!

So I read a post on the HLF about wands being useless, because apparently ability damage is boosted by only the offhand weapon, and not by the mainhand wand.

Went down to training dummies to test.

Wrack with Air surge :
Wizard wand + Mage's book: 1680-1717 crits
Master wand + Mage's book: 1676-1697 crits

SURPRISE! Looks like for abilities, mainhand only counts for accuracy, whilst the bonus damage actually comes from the offhand lol. So if you wanted to deal full tier 90 magic damage, you'd only need the Seismic Singularity, but not the wand.

For every thing they fix, three more things break. Figures.

I got a drop in the end dw.
~51m each.

Are those... Heal other/group runes? Those amazing spells finally found some use?!

Barricade -> heal group/other. It's actually amazing.

That... works? Amazing as that sounds, it also sounds like something Jagex would 'fix' for 'not being the way we intended.'

Zarosians are a bunch of dickriders. He doesn't care about you. He'll throw you away once he's done with you. You're "siding" with the "god of control", remember? He's using you. Besides, "empty lord", "god of control" and "I like purple" are all we really know about him. You don't know his ideals, you don't know his plans for the future of Gielinor.

You're praying to a god just because he's cool and mysterious. Maybe if he was in a boy band, sure, go ahead. But this is serious. This is the fate of the world as we know it.

I'm praying to him because he's given me the most quality free stuff. And also because I REALLY like purple. :P

What do you think is more likely?
Gambling in runescape and getting an urge to do it for real money.
Or murdering someone in runescape and getting the urge to go out and kill someone in real life?

Playing Runescape has increased my desire to go out and murder people by at least 500%, but I think that's besides the point you were making.

You complete a dungeon, you get dungeoneering xp.

I think you mean you play the minigame, you get dungeoneering xp. Everything that you can do inside dungeoneering, you can do in another part of the game world without getting dungeoneering exp. It doesn't have a single defining feature other than the minigame.

I dunno, it sounds right. Castlewarring, Fistsofguthixing, Pestcontrolling doesn't.

It's not about the name, if they made a skill from playing castle wars and maybe expanded it a bit, it'd make just as much sense as a skill as dungeoneering does.

That they chose to make dungeoneering into a skill, probably for simplicity in unlocking stuff and rewards, does not mean that it's not 100% a minigame. Bigger than other minigames, yes, but still doesn't fit the characteristics of a skill.

It brings fun to the game and I'm fine with that.

Yeah, not a big deal, but given the precedent of dungeoneering don't expect all future skills to make sense either.

Yes; why aren't we receiving dungeoneering exp from entering KBD/QBD lair, KK, KQ, DK's, God Wars Dungeon.

Because it is not 'Dungeon-eering', it is 'Daemonhiem-eering'. By this, I mean the skill is not to go through dungeons, but your knowledge of Daemonhiem. This coming from the Jmods who made the skill.

I do always find it funny how people complain about this skill vs minigame title. Are you really saying you WANT all of our skills to be as bland as click X to receive Y? Is it really so bad to have something so advanced like DG as a skill?

Solidary units aren't worth it for single-stat voyages, so you don't need one per ship. Personally I keep two.

Hey, if you like hitting the higher regions of times for voyages, that's up to you. Me personally, don't let my Solidarities leave the ship for any reason.

I don't find speed that hard to come by. Then again, my luck with captains is such that I get speed-focused ones :/.

Use speed focused captain, lose the same ~500 that you would having the Solidarity onboard. Dunno about you, but I think using a crew slot for Solids is a better deal than a captain slot for speed.

That's why I put the ':/'. I don't get any other decent captain :P.

You too, huh? Took me a billion rerolls just to get the two captains I have worth anything...

I've only ever had 1 random, and it was the very first day...

If you've been doing it since and haven't had another, then I'm sorry to say but you pulled the same thing a friend of mine just realized last night. Speak to either the Black marketeer, or the Barmaid. One of them has an event for you that's been sitting in wait that you missed...

Just from some minor number minding, I think I've found a few things people might care to know about the Scythe region.

First, the speed threshold. Basically, until you hit the magic number your voyage times will be realllly slow. And then when you hit the magic number, any extra speed after it hardly does squat. For the Scythe, this magic speed number is between 1700 and 1900. Any lower, 4.5 hour voyages. Get passed it and they all become around 3.5, any more speed after will hardly dent it at all.

The second threshold I've noticed is when the region starts to kick in and stops giving you so many pushover and over rewarding voyages. For the Scythe, it appears to be around 10% discovery.
