After looking at the new armour the brothers are wearing, did anyone else feel like they just went with "more spikes = more power"?

This has been Jagex's philosophy for years now ^^ Based on this I forsee Zaros' true form being an hedgehog or porcupine type creature

#5456961 Missing, Presumed Death

Posted by Ruinous Edge on 16 October 2013 - 07:41 PM

I have a theory regarding the events of MPD...

What if Sliske is one elaborate puppet in Zaros' master plan. Firstly they both reside in the shadow realm ( as far as I can recall) so it would be easy to use Zaros' immense power to take control of Sliske, it would explain how Sliske happened to come into control of the Staff of Armadyl, be able to teleport in and kill Guthix releasing the edicts to allow the Gods' Return. Zaros' invovlement also explains how Sliske had the knowledge/power to a) find the stone of jas b) capture and hold a dragonkin and finally capture Death. This sets Zaros/Sliske up perfectly to begin the events of MPD.

Zaros' knowledge of the God's and our character would've helped Sliske set up the elaborate murder mystery to drag in Icthlarin (who shares a mental link to us), Saradomin and Seren also. And based on Zaros' past experiences with Zamorak he knew announcing Sliske's grand ascension would draw him in.

Zaros' puppetery of Sliske would also explain why he gave us the key to release Death after his grand announcement and also explain the purple haze in the Zarosian podium allowing him to exert enough control over Sliske, the dragonkin and Death until he saw it fit to relinquish control and retreat to the shadow realm with Sliske.

I theorise Zaros' master plan is to have the other God's slaughter each other in chase of the main prize the stone of Jas. Then as the eclipse happens it will serve as a portal to the Shadow Realm large enough for Zaros to return just as he allows Sliske to attain godhood by slaying the last God standing and absorbing all the other Gods' powers in the process. But I see Zaros ultimately betraying Sliske and slaying and absorbing Sliske's powers and being ultimately powerful once more.

Feel free to critique ^^

Any info on div bonus xp

It was confirmed via Mod Mark's Twitter that there would be no bonus Divination XP until after somebody got 200m XP. If you spent half as much time training Div as you did waiting for bonus XP on it you'd be 99+ already.

if this is true Drumgun should troll us all and stop at 199,999,999 xp and then wait for rank 2 to play catch up lol

The video was a let down for me, they barely covered the history of glienor(sp?) I expected so much more...
One thing the video did do for me though was bring up the question could the dragonkin kill a truly ascended God?
So far the Gods have only been killed/hinted at being killed via elder artefacts (armadyl's staff and the sword Guthix used). Yes the dragonkin are powered by the stone's use by false-users, and they have slain a psuedo 'god' in the form of Lucien (not really a God more a majharrat on an ego/power trip), but to actually have the power to destroy a God such as Saradomin or Zamorak? only time will tell I guess.

I think they easily could, they are sort of an elder artefact of sorts being the defence mechanism of one. And as we know elder artefacts kill gods.

They may be the defence mechanism of the Stone (elder artefact) but did the Elder God's ever envisage another Godlike being mis-using their artefacts? And as such give the dragonkin that sort of power? This will be the make or break of the issue I foresee.

I feel we will see a hidden update for wishing well bushes, increasing their worth in the near future. At least to make them somewhat time-profitable (atleast make them average 50-100k profit).

Unlikely, jagex said there would be some risk with the rewards from the wishing well bush

If there was a lovechild, I don't think it would be our characters who would be him/her/it
It would have to be an NPC, and I'm suspecting one who isn't very happy with any of the Gods.
Not saying that I have one in mind, but it's just what I think might be one way for them to go..can anybody think of any current NPC's who are impartial to every god?

Kharshai.

Would be a good laugh if they made him the child of Guthix and Seren :P

If it had to be an NPC it would have to be Hans imo. he was the first NPC ingame and it would just feel fitting to have him be the descendant of Guthix and Seren.

A possibility for the Guthix/Seren lovers scenerio, what if they did have a child, and it was us, but neither Guthix or Seren have any memories of it?
It could explain how only we could open the doors in his resting place, and the fact how God's magic doesn't affect us anymore, what if when Guthix shared his power it awoke the dormant God DNA (for lack of a better term) within us, without anyone even noticing.
Probably completely incorrect prediction, but it could be possible.

I am sure I read somewhere here that this thread wasn't just about who was the first to get 200mil all (this was obviously going to Suomi) but a place to discuss strategies and training methods for players to achieve 200mil and how well the other top 14 fared in there goal.
That being said it's sad to see such a thread seemingly die out, just because Suomi is practically 100% there -1xp, was always an intriguing read especially the weekly recaps/reviews and time calcs.
Gl to all the players still striving for 200mil all.

^ My PC is like 4-5 years old and was built to be able to handle high-res video playback and nothing more, so I'm not too surprised it doesn't run that well on there (easily ~20-25 fps with shadows off though.)

Ah fair enough when you said state of the art I though you meant a brand new windows 8 pc that cost like £800-£1000, my mistake.

It can run most latest games on max settings. Runescape itself runs at max settings, everything enabled, at a consistent 45+ FPS.
The problem isn't that my PC can't run it, it's that I simply can't access the content as it shows up as "Enable Local Storage" even though it IS enabled and my graphics cards IS up to date (NVIDIA GeForce 660 Ti, released last September, so it shouldn't be too outdated) and my Chrome IS the latest version.

I seriously don't know what the problem here is, but I'm quite sure it's Jagex's fault.

If your using chrome have you got any extensions that could be stopping access to your local storage? or other than that maybe your internet security software is causing an issue?

I'm thinking about maybe going for 45 Def and staying there (Would allow me to use Rune, Mystic and Green d'hide + the fremmy helmets, good enough. Higher level equipment will be too expensive/annoying to obtain for them to be worth it.)

Jagex, an honest company? Believe me no one thought so before the poll.

Apparently, you did.

Why not go the 1 def 60atk hybrid route. robes are cheap and disposable and I can see rune will be VERY expensive for a long time...

Also, on an unrelated note, were unids turned into grimy herbs at that point?

45 def would be viable seeing as all the armours you'd need would be in stock at shops unlike dragon/barrows armour and probably 60 att for dragon until slayer weapons such as g maul/whip become commonplace.
sure herbs were still unids in august 07, can't be 100% though

Any sort of updates post anti-bot software would completely defy the point of making these servers. In truth I don't think honestly old servers should even get improved anti-bot software, to be in keeping with the nostalgia bubble of august 07, but with how advanced bots are now it would be required to make these legacy servers even playable.
In short nothing else past 10th august 07 shouldn't even be considered as a possibility of an update.
The community will be fractured enough without fracturing this new community into say pre & post GWD or GE.

People keep mentioning that they don't want this to be successful, fearing that it may take away from development time for the current RS.
... Why?

Why would the wants of those who prefer EoC be more important than the wants of those who prefer the 2007 version of the game?

It's not that simple, if everyone votes for the sake of it then doesn't play the 2007 servers it means Jagex would have created a business plan for say 800k players but only 300k players ever log in I.e free for all but they'll lose out because normally for 300k players they would have incurred a monthly cost on top of usual membership to pay for the dev. staf to maintain 2007 servers. But if only the people that want to play vote they'll create an accurate business plan that factors in the costs versus profit effectively.
I'm not saying don't vote at all only vote if your actually intending to play the new servers, otherwise your feeding Jagex false data that helps no-one and hinders both games.

Please don't feed the troll guys. The report button is your friend. ;)

A statue somewhere in game would be fitting too.

A statue would be pretty cool.

Giving Suomi a statue in-game would just make people complain that their favourite famous RSers weren't given a statue.

But their favourite famous runescape players haven't maxed xp in every single skill have they? So that arguement wouldn't work at all, at least it would give the ranters something to rage quit about until new skils are released and 'ruin runescape' again.
