  1. @ Dracae (Don't Split the Community). jagex already split the community when they took away the game i paid to play and replaced it with a new one.they left me with 2 options, play the new game or quit,so i quit, stayed quit, have only started looking back because they woke up and smelled the coffee, this time it didn't take them 2 years,ya, i quit before and came back(only because they brought back the wildy and free trade). there is a point where a change isn't an update,it's a new game version, constant changes to the game are not only not neccassary but also self defeating, new content is one thing(in moderation, new weapons affect game balance and the economy)changing the way something operates, changing the map(not adding to it) things such as this belong in a new game, hopefully jagex is beginning to realize this finally.. it is far more likely that someone that quit because they were bored will return than someone that quit because they changed the game. as for change,ya,for example cnc, then red alert, then yuri's etc etc,ya,but i can still play cnc if i so desire, jagex has not been doing such.you will find that old school servers will do far more good than harm. Inkler p.s.started playing before the classic/rs2 split, what ruined that was jagex not tending to it,this time it will be different.watch the votes roll in.
  2. 'That uncertainty just goes to show that it is in the very nature of RuneScape to be a constantly changing game. If you are going to quit over a change to a very dynamic game, you were playing the wrong game to begin with.' actualy that is wrong,it may seem so now, before andrew sold it it was not so,and there were more players then than there are now,the new jagex has by far driven away more players than they have gained. there is a large group gathering that wants rs2 servers, where the game will not be constantly changing, the next issue that will cause problems with this however is the large collection of untended bugs and glitches that jagex seems too busy to fix, also, without the new updates of greed missing they would have to have insanely high membership fees. in my opinion i think jagex desires to lose all of us old players, the game originaly was designed/intended for ages 13 and up,i think they have gone for 13 and under, these players, while more prone to cheat are easily bored and therefore like the constant changes, plus they are unaware of what was,and only see what is. java is not a good programming language for state of the art graphics etc.this will continue to be a problem as well. just fyi,i started playing before rs2,the game was less than a year old.
  3. hello all, first,i agree with this,i would also like to add a few points,it's not all bots, there are a lot of players autoing now as well, making a mockery of the ranking system. i have been noticing when an update comes out, while you are in the game, after the update watch the players online, for instance during one recent update there were 134k players, after the update it hovered around 60k to 70k for over an hour,it is possible therefore to assume approx half were bots,to give them benefit of the doubt that some were real players just didnt get back on rite away, lets say 40%. .jagex is no longer a game,it is a corporation, their shareholders and profits are #1 on priorities list, they got bots off f2p into members,i don't think they will get rid of them, the continual parade of updates is not getting them new players,or at best it is costing as many as it gains, and they are not getting it.bugs and bots are not dealt with while the hew content is all profit oriented. where is rs2?when this new combat beta is inflicted i will be doing 1 of two things, either i will only be a skiller or i will say goodbye to rs forever as many others have.the only way to play rs2 now is on private servers,it is sad,but these are the facts.
