RuneScape Information

  1. I liked the first article (perhaps because I like rants =P). The fact constition and prayer got multiplied by 10 was somewhat useless to game mecanics if you want but the prayer one was usefull, hitpoints a bit less.... But multipling by 10 isn't so bad since we are accustomed to that multiplier... (We live in a decimal world) ... But like the article says now we can hit in the thousands, but I don't find it cooler at all, maybe its because im no longer a teen but teen or not when you start hitting in the 4 digits it just becomes confusing... And your max hit will be even harder to find.. The idea of bringing a stable combat triangle is long overdo. Though what confuses me the most is how they only take either strength or attack to calculate your melee combat. Does this mean that technically someone with 1 attack and 99 strength is better then someone with 98 attack and 98 strength??? I don't know I haven't played the BETA much but in my opinion I think it's a really hard battle for JAGEX to bring a fair combat triangle when there are two offensive skills for warriors and only one for rangers and mages. So either make attack and strength completely independant or bring in a secondary offensive skill for both mages and rangers or chose from an old one. Ex : Agility for rangers, because in the end wouldn't it be a necessity to be agile if you plan on shooting arrows?
  2. I agree, I remember 7 years ago getting into the mining guild as an f2p was a huge deal for me but now the xp/h for most skills have sky rocketed but the entry levels have stayed the same... so I definitely like the idea to raise the level requirements too honestly 90 IF NOT 99. The best case are the extreme/overload pots which are responsible for herblores popularity and they start at 88 with the extreme attack. Though you could argue it starts with the 84 recover special. Remember exclusivity is everything.... or so the Social Network says?
  3. Yes I must agree with you that guilds are not very usefull or have simply been abandonned like many things in runescape. Which brings me to compare Gielinor as a wasteland, seems to me like they don't believe in managing the waste (old content or unused content) but simply in expanding their horizons (bringing in new content). Storm you say it is neglect well I say it is efficiency that kills content, people (or half the population as the second article somewhat says) strive for THE FASTEST xp/h (myself included) and runescape like reality there is only one FASTEST method; so essentially the others are left to rot.... But the GRAND UPDATE to the combat system would definitely fall in "waste management" as they are looking to bring new life to something already present i.e. the combat system. So there is light at the end of the tunnel. Both articles were good, must say I'm a fan of Storm :) but like most articles in the Times I find they lack length. Storms article was "OK" length but the 2nd was rather short.
  4. Alright my turn! I personally very much dislike the SoF and I never really put much thought on how much an add it really is and got is it ever! First of all I remember how annoying it was at first and I couldn't help to wonder why it would pop up in my face all the time.... Anyways we all know this but here's how sad the SoF is : People say if you don't like it just ignore it or don't let it COMPROMISE your runescape experience. Surprise, surprise! WE DON'T HAVE THE JOY OF HAVING A COMPRISE. The antidote to the poison TS? Well like you said there aren't any so unfortunately because of one rather obscene update I have to sacrifice the upper left of my screen where I put the darn SoF so it doesn't pop up in my face evertime I log in... I FAIL TO SEE THE COMPRISE IN THIS.... So basically the SoF update for me just took a part of my screen... Think about that before you tell us "SoF hatters" to simply IGNORE it. But here is the biggest irony of all in this weeks Tip.it times . The 3rd article was great, I felt like that for a very long time, like I had an unbearable amount of daily chores and THIS IS WHY I DON'T LIKE THE SoF it's just another chore in the book. Everyday when you log in, boom waste 3 minutes doing the SoF... And for me that crossed the line, when my runescape time is precious the last thing I need is another update to bring up a chore for me..... And seriously as a member why the hell should I be paying for this ridiculous add!? Love,
  5. First article was good, I do agree that I see a lot of people getting either a skill cape or a max cape and to be frank I find it quite annoying AND 87 DAYS OF CASTLE WARS!?!? That is quite stupid and quite sad considering my account is probably 90 days old (8 years old) and it feels like I've been training black momba8 forever. So if I do the math it'll take me another 8 years to get ONE of the completionist cape (t) requirement... really? As for the 2nd article it was cool, none of those updates really frustrated me but I still refer to constitution as hit points :)
  6. What is a good level too start hunting draconic jadinko? Is it as soon as you can which would be 80 hunter?
  7. I really did love the article about the wilderness and I agree completely. To be honest the last time I went in the wild was for a clue scroll and that was last summer. But I think the best example I could give is when I was f2p with a very low combat level; probably some 6 years ago. Anyways when I was f2p I was all about smithing and mining and with 35 mining; it was really really hard getting coal! Not only was my mining very low but every coal ore in f2p was full out crowded, I remember I would try to log in late or go on worlds with minimal people(I didn't know the re-spawn was longer...). Needless to say that after a while, I said screw it I'm going in the wild and I did. I must say I ran for my life many times and also got pked a lot, but time after time I kept on going. Then I started doing the same for the lvl 35 mine with the 8 mithril ores because there was an incentive : virtually no crowds and no waiting time in between rocks. Now with the grand exchange and etc.... I'm total lvl 1890 and I don't need to go in the wilderness to go mining anymore. But with my lvl 98 farming put an herb patch with double the yield around level 30 and you'll probably see me there planting torstols. And guess what pkers; if you kill me after the harvest you'd probably be looking at 22 torstols and 2/3 of a juju potion. =)
