RuneScape Information

  1. Training mining or agility with a penance horn would be one the most efficient ways you could use the aura. Using the festive aura in such a way will save you 30 mins each use, rather than 15 mins each use. Other forms of bonus exp, such as clan rings, sc tools and pendants, also multiply the time saved by the festive aura: using the festive aura together with one of these bonus exp tools will save more time than using them both seperately (as long as the exp/hr without the aura remains below 200k/hr). Using the aura on a skill with a base rate of over 200k exp/hr will save less time. (As there are conflicting views on this point, I would urge anyone in doubt to do their own calculations and draw their own conclusions, rather than relying on the word of others. I personally am quite certain on the matter.) However, using the festive aura on a skill that costs money to train will save you some money, that should be taken into account too.
  2. Actually; it is much better to use the aura on a skill that has a base rate of 200K/HR OR LESS. The reason is that 50k agility exp is more valuble than, say, 50k construction exp, since agility is so much slower to train. Say you can earn 80k agility exp/hr or 500k construction exp/hr. If you use the aura on construction, it will give 50k exp over 12 minutes and then wear off, saving you 6 minutes of training construction. If you use the aura on agility, it will give 20k exp over 30 minutes, saving you 15 minutes of training agility. The aura stacks with both pendants and penance horn. If you use the aura with a pendant and still earn less than 50k bonus exp from the aura, you save yourself 22.5 mins of training. If you use the aura with a penance horn and still earn less than 50k bonus exp from the aura, you save yourself 30 mins of training. If you use the aura with penance horn and pendant and still earn less than 50k bonus exp from the aura, you save yourself 40 mins of training. (I'm just stating the time saved from the bonus exp of the aura. The use of a pendant saves more time on top of this, but is invariant). So, the absolute most efficient use of the aura (in terms of time saved) is to use it on mining or agility, while wielding a penance horn and a pendant.
  3. Some silly ideas: Mine every single rock in runescape (I have actually done this!) Chop every tree, craft every craftable object, kill every monster, fletch every fletchable object etc. Collect every rare, then destroy them all. Buy the maximum possible number of runecoins. Could be anything from 2k runecoins to 2b runecoins. Buy out the Grand Exchange by creating hundreds and hundreds and between them, offering max cash for every item. Interact with every npc/item in every possible way. I personally count as a comleteable anything that is permanent about your character, can be viewed by the player, and can be maxed out. So the number of castle wars games played counts, as (i) they are permanent (ii) can be viewed by player (iii) can be maxed out. But the number of trouble brewing games played isn't 'completable', even if the jagex servers store that information, as the player cannot view it. Using this as a guide, other examples not included in the trimmed comp requirements would be: Reach 255 in endurance and climber mode in Dominion Tower. Collect all optional quest rewards, like all 5 lamps for running supplies to Burthorpe archers, the one-time craft and prayer exp for making an illuminated holy book etc. Collect a piece of all hybrid armour (the armour itself is not permanent, but the increased probability of obtaining a piece is). Unlock all rewards from the crucible. Unlock the highest tier in Windstalker and Duelist hats. That's all I can think of for now.
  4. So, someone is helping me boost hybrid top wins, I was wondering what is the absolute fastest way to get wins? Can the other person leave as soon as they enter, or do they have to wait until fighting is allowed? Can the winner stay in the arena, or do they have to leave in between each game?
  5. The only thing a spectral shield is good for is mage defence, and there are actually a few places where you might want to max that out, at the expense of attack bonuses. It's good for defending against nomad and sunfreet's mage attack, since those attacks are based on magic defence but mage pray doesn't work against them. With a spectral shield and ganodermic armour, the only damage I receive from nomad is his lp-1 attack. Also useful for soul wars, to get to the enemy avatar without being frozen by mages. And yes, I am aware that soul wars in inefficient if your goal is the get max/comp cape or make money.
  6. Perhaps jagex actively keeps the number of rares in game the same? It's easily possible that they have a system for counting the total number of a particular item ingame, since a player doesn't have to be logged in for Jagex to check their bank. They could release rares on the GE whenever the total number of that particular rare goes below a certain number. Or perhaps they only do it with banned and rolledback accounts. It would be easy to have a program check if a banned account had a tradeable rare, then release the same rare on GE? I don't know what they would do for rares worth well over the max cash pile though.
  7. Simple idea; our characters have 'Training Mode' and 'Artisan Mode'. Or whatever you want to call it. Training Mode: Whenever we collect resources, or make a finished product, we focus on improving our abilities, experimenting and gaining experience for the next level. Our characters have been in 'training mode' since the start of Runescape. Artisan Mode: We collect resources much faster. We can make more useful items with less resources. Making a runeplate from two runite bars or crafting triple bloods is no problem for those with the right level. The downside? No exp gain. What do you think? The idea is, if balanced correctly, using Artisan Mode would have to be profitable; with no exp gain, there would be absolutely no reason to use it if it did not gain money. Prices of goods would drop, but not to the point where Artisan Mode in unprofitable/ less profitable than Training Mode. It would require more careful balancing than I am capable or qualified to come up with, so I haven't bothered with the specifics. Also, I previously had another account on these forums with the similar name, but I can't access it for some reason. I'll just stick with this one from now on.
