That would be the best solution. It would, however, stir up some controversy for obvious reasons. Generally speaking, games use the same rules/measurement methods for every player to determine competition value, but I see no harm in it in this case. It's a pretty unique situation and there are good arguments to back it up.

I think it works across the board, so even if the general consensus is to specifically increase their rc xp rate, it still wouldn't be put in action.

But, as Trance and I suggested, it doesn't have to be officially changed. We can modify it ourselves in this thread.

Or, Sten (NoToAfkPray) could simply skip them in the next top lists. It boggles my mind he still wants to keep them there. If their xp rates would be changed (which they should), they wouldn't come close to the top 15 anyway.

N01perfect does solo abyss btw. People in the HLC see him as the 'true' rank 1.

I hope he does lavas to get perm 1.

I don't understand why it matters that Dusty and Runes does not involve themselves in the HLC.

Runes and Dusty started using runners before that was considered macro-efficient, which logically means they are currently not using other ways to get money (ge, etc) - ways that make it macro-efficient now.

In other words, they don't play with the mindset of 200M all, that hasn't suddenly changed because recently new ways of money making have arrived.

Their aim is 200M RC efficiently; having gp left after that isn't a concern of them - quite the opposite, nearly every penny goes to RC (neglecting the 'classic' buyables in the process). They are horribly non-macro-efficient.

=> their EHP/EHP rank is artificially high.

afaik it was never used for rs3 because it was far too complicated to keep up to date and even get good rates for. There are a massive amount of factors on rs3 that can change xp/hour and add to that weekly updates that tweak random skills made it unrealistic.

That's one of the reasons I love osrs so much, it's so simple

Little update of the Top 5 for anyone that doesn't stalk Runetracker/CML:

1. Hey Jase, our resident "Placeholder" Rank 1 and everyone's favourite underdog has stopped training Firemaking after hitting 100m Xp, making him the first person to 5 skills over 100m Xp. From his recent gains it looks like he's now focusing on Herblore, I'm interested to see how far he takes that!

2. Sick Nerd has gained 269k... Riveting stuff mate :P

3. Vestfold gained lots of Agility and Magic Xp... Again. He's hit 55m Agility and is maintaining his EHP lead with the closest active competitor over 700 hours behind him. Keep running them laps and enjoying your anime :D

4. Randalicious is still tearing through construction, almost hitting 120m Xp and so far setting a 105m Xp month record - over double that of Wigins 52m attempt. He's also sneaking up on Vestfold's rank 3 position, however far behind he might be in EHP.

5. Skillersl's Alt Lynx Titan is making good progress Smithing (as expected) taking both the week and month record and fast approaching 100m Smithing Xp (96m currently). He's also gained his usual dose of Farming Xp, hitting 40m yesterday.

Outside the Top 5:

Malt Lickeys has reached 130m Slayer Xp

Dusty and Runes are still racing head to head both having reached 130m Runecraft Xp

If you guys like or dislike updates like this or think this thread isn't active enough for them, let me know and I'll continue to do them or just do little ones when the thread is inactive :P I could also do them for the top 10 or 15 like Based Langer used to if people would like it :)

Very enjoyable post, please keep us updated if you have time/energy :)

How frequently would you update it? weekly?

To add on to that, a lot of these discussions can boil down to one's locus of control. For those of you who don't know what that is, in a nutshell: having an external locus of control basically means you believe that your future is beyond your control and at the mercy of the world around you; having an internal locus of control means you believe that you're more or less in control of your destiny. Like Gemeos said, you can't control everything but you can control a great amount of it.

Numerous psych studies have shown that having an internal locus of control is very strongly correlated with happiness and success, for example:

https://www.psycholo...butor-happiness

http://www.researchg...ocus_of_Control

When it comes to RuneScape, if Jagex releases a game update which is unfavorable to your playstyle or beliefs, a player with an external locus of control wouldn't change their playstyle to adapt to the changes in order to become happy or successful; instead they'd just spend lots of time getting angry at Jagex, hoping that Jagex changes the game so they don't have to change themselves. A person with an internal locus of control would change their playstyle and adapt to the game update such that they can go back to being happy and successful as quickly as possible. Keep in mind, however, that sometimes the best way to adapt to a game update is to either take a break or quit playing the game altogether. That's what I did when EoC was released in RS3, at least, and I'm extremely satisfied with that decision.
