  1. I was reading this post, wondering to myself why someone would take the time to write all this against the coming update, when I finally came to this paragraph: Suddenly, it all made sense to me. Now I obviously have no idea what actually prompted you to write this article, but the impression I got was that your above objection is the biggest thing ruffling your feathers, and the rest is just you rationalizing your opinion. I personally see nothing wrong with jagex releasing this update, and don't really anticipate all the problems you seem to think will inevitably follow.
  2. I fire bolted steel dragons, I don't remember my xp/h, but I'm sure it was slower than most other ways. On the plus side though, I profited and got a bunch of prayer and hp xp, plus it's about a million less clicks than almost every other way.
  3. I killed steel dragons from 94-99 magic and got 0 visages. Obviously this is just my personal experience, but I feel like they are too rare to camp for, and if I were you I would just keep doing slayer and hope to get lucky with dragons or any other creature.
  4. Answers in bold. I was purposely vague in most cases, simply because it would take ages to fill you in on all you've missed. If I was you, I would read the old news archives on the runescape site, check the many guides here on tip.it, and keep posting any specific questions you have right here.
  5. Rune mining is the best skill based money in f2p as far as I know.
  6. I use this: Charm Pattern
  7. Glassmake sounds great on paper, but actually doing it is, imo, a huge pain. If you have no problem doing tedious, repetitive tasks, then it is certainly one of the best methods, since you get a decent xp rate with alot of profit and a ton of crafting xp. But I personally tried it for a thousand casts to get some crafting lvls and never plan on doing it again. I can't imagine doing it for weeks on end, but obviously some people can, and if you're one of those people, feel free to use glassmake. I personally chose to mage steel dragons for 99 mage. Sure, it's not the fastest method, but I felt the pros out weighed the cons, since in addition to mage xp you also get hp and prayer xp, and the drops easily pay for the runes (even if you don't get a visage). Most importantly to me, however, was the relatively small amount of clicking, making it an easy choice for me.
  8. I also have a question regarding EP. I was mining and banking in a non-hotzone for awhile, and my EP went from 7-17-27-37 just like it was supposed to, then it stopped at 40 and hasn't budged, though I'm doing the exact same thing. What's the problem?
  9. I thought it froze when you lose membership?
  10. Thanks! And, another question, is there anything useful I wouldn't be able to make if I stop at 70? I really just want the practical stuff, such as teles, altar, etc. I haven't thought about construction in a long time, so I honestly can't think of what else there is I would need.
  11. How many sc saws will I need for 59-70 con? I've never used any stealing creation rewards before so I don't really know what to expect.
  12. Those 3 skills aren't bashed just because they're quick and cheap, but also because they are utterly useless. All three of those skills really have no practical reason for being high, and most people only lvl them to 99 for the sake of having an 'easy' 99, where as people who get 99 combats have a reason to do so, since it makes all monster and player killing easier. Honestly, the only reason I have 70 cooking is because of r4d, and never have I needed a higher cooking lvl since. Same goes for fletching and fming, since neither are used as anything except total lvl boosters. Sure, the same can be said for 99 con, craft, smith, etc, but these skills take many times more money, and are justifiably more 'respected.' I am constantly wishing I had higher att, str, def, pray, range, not because I want a cape, but simply because these skills are such a great benefit at 99, and not just pretty capes.
  13. I would go with 1k-2k to be safe, there will most likely be some tokens left over for you to get multiple defenders, which is a very good idea.
  14. the dharocks set is for power training melee stats and to see high hits, but is way to slow for everyday use the veracs set effect makes it great for pvp and boss hunting, and the individual parts are good for the similar stats to other sets with the addition of a prayer bonus guthans is good for slayer and camping, since you don't need food in most cases the rest aren't really used as a set, but torags is for the high defence bonuses, karils for the mage defence, and ahrims for mage att
  15. The repair costs on barrows are really insignificant, as it takes ages for them to be in combat for 15hrs, and with the use of a POH armor stand, it doesn't really cost much at all. As for what you should buy, I would say fury, drag boots, and torags plate and legs would be your first purchases, as well as guthans if you have money left over. You may also want karils if you're fighting something that requires mage defence, and ahrims if you you mage alot. The other two sets are pretty unnecessary outside of specific uses. Really, with the exception of guthans, barrows armor is amazingly cheap, and all of it, including guthans, are a great value for the bonuses you get.
