  1. if you need something hosted for more than a year, either register, where you can easily lengthen the time on any hosted file with the click of a button, or sign up for premium service, which can host your image forever, even after you stop paying. *edit -- Other than that, i don't think it is unreasonable to ask people to come back once a year to renew their image, as most people that actually want something hosted that long have a hard time finding good web hosts anyways eh? Simpload also has some feature that imageshack lacks, for instance a very nice 'replace' function - instead of re-uploading and changing your signiture tag on every forum, or whatever, you can simply replace your original signiture file on simpload, with a new one from your hard drive. So really, if your looking for convenience...It depends on what sort of things you find more menial.
  2. as for the security thing, that was taken care of before we started. i'll explain how it works. Basically, it takes the file name, then adds the month, date, and current time in miroseconds. Then it encrypts that and makes it the new filename. So unless you upload something with the same name, at the exact same microsecond exactly a month later, then nothing to worry about  as for the register issue, i was aware that it wasn't working in some regions, i believe austrailia was one of them, but it should have been resolved sometime yesterday, so maybe check it out and make sure it works now. Thanks for the info though, if you find any more bugs, keep hollering.
  3. yea, thats definately a cool feature. i guess they are the way to go if you want to make sure your image stays up a long time with little effort, but we definately support more file types, and overall you can have a file uploaded as long as you want with a little more effort.
  4. i'm pleased to announce that registration is now fully functional, and looking good. It allows things like, 256KB .bmp, flash .swf, up to 1.5MB regular image files, it keeps a record of your uploads and allows you to lengthen their upload time, or delete them as necessary, and a soon to add feature will be the ability to replace the filename with a different image.
  5. it depends. but usually 5 cents a click, if it isn't the same person clicking over and over again
  6. i'm pleased to announce that we now have selectable upload durations available. you can upload a file for a year if you need to, or just a month. More power in your hands.
  7. bump? i figure there are still lots of people this would benefit
  8. well, there are tons places where you can register and upload an image, or multiple images. i'm just not the kinda person that forces others to do stuff for no reason. *edit - there are also some other perks to simpload that photobucket and others do not offer. Simpload offers double the file size limit of photobucket, without donating or registering. Simpload will also allow other types of uploads besides just images, if registered you may be allowed to upload movies, etc.
  9. Yea, I can completely understand that. I have been giving it a lot of thought recently. Tentative: What I am thinking is, when you register an account it will set a three month time limit. then when you log in later, the timer will be reset for all of your images. If a lot of people say the same thing you just did, i'll expand the time limit considerably.
  10. Well, I had some spare time, and quite a bit of spare web space, so I figured i'd offer it to the community. I've created a free file uploader, mostly images, but i'm looking into other media types. for the free stuff it'll prolly just be images though. The site is located at ]http://www.[ForbiddenSite] It offers pretty much the same things as imageshack, but more types of files, except if you register it offers considerably more space, and file types.
  11. From that summation, I think you get the gist of what i'm saying. So I respectfully depart from this post.
  12. I hear what your saying. I'm not saying it should be longer, or that you should add anything, just that there is a lot more to leading a clan than posted here. From reading your guide a newb might thing, hey, just follow these steps and people will follow me! Ahh, so you want an example. Well then. What would your clan guide recommend supposing a hacker was found to be in the clan? What would your guide recommend doing supposing the hacker was a very good friend of the leader? Or if there was a hacker in the clan, but the leader couldn't figure out who it was? If you want more examples on a different topic, just ask. I feel that is not correct, for two reasons. 1. there is always room for improvement. and 2. Your guide doesn't teach leadership of a clan, it teaches making the foundation. I'm not missing the point, I'm just looking down the road a bit further than you. Literally anyone can make a webpage, and forums and clan rules, etc;however, leading a clan is considerably more complex(and actually requires skill) than 'not being soft', and sitting back whilst enforcing rules. You have to be prepared for things the rules don't cover, and be able to deal with situations that you can't prepare for. And you can't simply write that stuff up.
