#5433219 22-Jul-2013 - RuneScape 3!

Posted by helring on 25 July 2013 - 08:00 PM

Speaking of the Crown Archival..
As Saradomin has fully returned, and the Crownallows Saradomin to locate Elder Artefacts anywhere in the Universe, surely the one he would seek out soonest is the SoJ, especially since no one knows where the SoJ is after ROTM.

I vaguely recall one of the news posts mentioning a "huge" 6th Age Quest on the horizon? Presuming Sarabastardomin survives the BoL, would it be a good guess that the next major quest would be preventing him from accessing the SoJ? This is dependant on the players own choice though of course.

I assumed that would be the Sliske quest "Missing, Presumed Death" that would include Icthlarin too. I doubt they'd make a quest that would be completely trashed if the world event changed things, and if they did I doubt they'd announce it in case it had to be scrapped.

@Binary mage: 21% is not the majority, it's the largest group. A majority would require more than 50% of the votes to be Guthix.

We haven't really had any evidence or lore that shows us why he is a positive influence on Gielinor yet. I'd put him in the same boat as Saradomin, Bandos, and Zamorak in that we really haven't been given much (if any) content that paints them in a positive light since the start of the Sixth Age.

I disagree on them not showing Zamorak in any sort of positive light. Moia's self-esteem was absolutely destroyed by her father, Lucien, who treated her like dirt. Now she's confident and one of the chief generals for a god due to Zamorak. They also showed that Zamorak actually has a purpose behind the chaos and isn't just destroying things for no reason. He's trying to spur growth through chaos and adversity. I'm still Zarosian and unless my lord grants him a pardon he must die, but I do believe the book of the gods gave him a bit more of a positive spin.

The attitude that you must be able to fix every problem or you shouldn't fix any is ridiculous.

I agree fully. However, making a choice and dealing with the consequences is one of the ideals I look for in a video game, not a problem.

Tokkul, gop tokens, fog tokens and many others would be harder to code for because you can spend them on tradeable items, and therefore might be too resource intensive to implement.

Then where is my reset for group vengeance? It's now a shadow of it's former self.
Where is my sell option for poh steel dragon?
Aquanite task unlock?
Ice strykwyrm kills without firecape?
Remove option for toolbelted dragon hatchet and pickaxe?
Hazeel cult (only way to get mark of Hazeel is taking the evil side)?
Hell, where is my sell option for chaotics? I bought a bunch of them and now have 2/3 level 90 weapon sets. I want my tokens back because the thing I paid for has become obsolete.

In my opinion, offering do overs for these would cheapen them. Steel dragons would not be impressive if you could just sell them like castlewars rewards for full price. I'd have a house full of them right now, and combined they would mean less than the single one I have.

It seems more like you're complaining that it shouldn't be done just because it won't benefit you personally.

On the contrary, I can, and plan to use this reset if it comes. However, if I step back and look at the big picture, resets look like a mistake.

Everythingyou listed up above could be planned ahead for. None of those is obsolete because Jagex changed the mechanics of how they work. If Jagex decided that Ice Strykewyrms never need a firecape to kill anymore, then I would support a reset for that. If Jagex decided to drop chaotics stats to lower than rune, then I would support a refund. The things you listed were changes that were based upon decisions where you had a reasonable ability to foresee what would happen. People who paid for the ring upgrades had no reasonable way to foresee that Jagex would completely overhaul the combat and change what they did.

#5428698 Tip.It Times - 14th July 2013

One thing I thought was nice was that the community or at least the high level community did well with vorago. A person on the High level forums set up a fc and a list for getting the death-blow on vorago. The highest one on the list still alive when it came time to deal the final hit was the one that got the maul. Made it relatively easy to get my trim back and they didn't charge a thing.

I wouldn't mind them spreading out the requirements for trim more though, I do find it weird that some minigames have rather huge requirements and others have next to none.

Zamorak and Zaros were both physically connected to the staff. Sliske just shot Guthix with its power.

And Guthix only stabbed Tuska, he wasn't impaled upon it with him. The Elder Weapon seems just to be the conduit for siphoning power. We've got confirmation that he wasn't a god after TWW through a Q&A but that doesn't mean he couldn't have siphoned a bit of power briefly.

Guthix blinded Tuska, but he got his powers from killing Skargaroth. Your point remains because he wasn't impaled then either, just clearing up some facts.

Lol. Love that one line from the video. "...I think we're on track for a totally unreal show."

I'm curious - how is a single use then destroyed teleport to Varrock museum that useful?

Basically when you die with comp cape you get coins and not the cape back. Usually if you're in a situation where you would die then you're not wearing comp hood because it doesn't have stats last I looked. So this destroys hood so you can get a replacement hood and cape.

#5375968 4th March - The World Wakes

Posted by helring on 05 March 2013 - 12:17 PM

I was much more surprised by the lack of Kharshai in this quest. It's almost as if they made the Kharshai miniquest, forgot all about it, then started on The World Wakes and left him out of it.

------

Also, I have killed Automatons for a couple of hours, got about 1.2-1.5M in loot and no gloves as well.

---

Also, unless Jagex plans on releasing quests/substantial content that follows off of TWW real soon, I don't see where this talk of "ramifications for everyone and everything, so we had to make it accessible" is coming from. The next GM quest probably won't be out for a year at least (unless I am mistaken and there's another planned for this year) if not later. What exactly is so pressing that it had to be added to the timeline immediately? It seems senseless, as is the decision to add even more quests in the "past", particularly such important ones such as ROTM.

#5367465 2007 - Old School RuneScape... You Vote! - [It's Here!]

Posted by helring on 15 February 2013 - 05:02 PM

We understand your point. What I am saying and what I have been saying is the reason you feel the game is dead because players did not offer their constructive criticism when given the chance which cause a mess of things that could have been avoided. I also mentioned that while you claim the game is dead player have came back and that we only see the short run effect of EoC, not the long run. Had we waited to see what would happen in 6 month and 1 year, we could have very well seen a stronger community or a weak one. We don't know. We can't predict the future. What we do know is that a mess came because neither party communicates well and the party we belong to is afraid of change.

Also, to anyone else thinking we are selfish. Most of use aren't trying to be (thou Jay seems like it, please don't be mad at me). We aren't voting becuase the vote is for those who REALLY want it. You skew results and give false information when you vote for others thinking they will not vote themselves. We don't want to do that. We want the people who truly want this to come back and vote because doing so proves they want this. And they have come back and done that.

Just want to say that Mod MMG's post on the thread in general would seem to indicate otherwise. "Consider this, the more members that vote the cheaper it would ultimately be for everyone and hopefully reach the point where it doesn’t cost you a penny more and could simply be offered as part of your existing membership - Even if you don't intend to use it I think that's a nice thing to do for your friends."

QFC: 14-15-832-64233878
In the post under the f.a.q. he seems to be saying that the only reason not to vote is if you really do not want it.
