Grand exchange by far. Makes my life sooooo much easier.

I found tanking to be quite effective. I'm currently camped out at aviansies on a 60 hour crusade to 90 ranged. Stats: 86 hits, 85 ranged, 80 def Wearing: torags helm armadyl pendant 10000 addy bolts rune c'bow obby shield sara dhide top zammy chaps snakeskin boots barrows gloves archer ring inventory Lava staff 1 noted addy bar 1 coin 50 natures space for airs space for waters space for bloods. excalibur 3 more torag helms I can use bones to peaches, so i'm staying down there until all 4 helms fall off. 60 hours straight at aviansies, boredom express. I figure on a 4:5 bar/kill ratio, and i can kill about 130 an hour with such a setup. that means i'll have about 8k kills, about 6.4k addy bars (which at current prices is 16m), about 4m in just alchable drops, and who knows how much runes. I will be giving away all herb drops. that comes out to about 20m profit. =)

Wow I just looked at your sig, then looked at mine and I realized we started on the same day. I don't have a pic right now, but I'll get one if you need proof =).

I can say I succeeded in the inverse of this challenge. Albeit, I started with 11.5m and ended with 50k 30 seconds later... Yay for duel arena!

Jagex loses hardcore customers, while casual gamers adapt. New customers are more likely to be retained by the friendlier environment. the 3k trade limit encourages the GE, which is now better for any item worth 60k or more... 5% fluctuation, which I hope they keep at the very least.

I have to congratulate Jagex on their series of updates. Each update will cause a small portion of devoted runescapers to leave. The dueling arena killed the stakers, the merchants, or at least most of them adapted to the GE, and pkers will leave after today's update. These people bear one common trait. They are not casual gamers. Jagex is quite somewhat intelligent in changing their game so that RWT is virtually eliminated (though i suspect Bounty Hunter will be used on barren worlds to transfer funds), and a major reason players quit is removed. Many people quit when they are cleaned, whether its staking, or dying somewhere. With the tombstones and blessing system, there's a pretty good chance of item retention, and hence better customer retention. I don't like the updates, but I (think I) see the business sense behind it.

As a poor noob, i absolutely love the GE. It absolutely trivializes finding odd bits for questing, and selling treasure trail junk has never been easier. I don't know much about the fluctuations in the upper echelon of items, so i can't say much about that. But i definitely like the GE. I don't think it's killed merchanting

I believe someone got a Jmod response saying that staking was killed off to keep people from getting instantly cleaned then quitting. RWT was a side bonus.

Does this effectively mean people can get banned for holding drop parties? I'm really confused now. This update seems to imply the condemnation of private drop parties...

If your parents oppose your playing runescape, you might try to convince them that it's a worthwhile expense. Say it's a cheap escape from reality, which you need due to all the stress. You can also bring up that it's much cheaper than alcohol and drugs, and far less damaging than other methods of escaping from the real world. Or you can use pay-by-mail. Does anyone know if there is an age limit required to purchase visa gift cards? Actually, (sorry to hijack thread), but if someone could pm me with a dummy's guide to using visa gift cards, that would be nice. =)

I'm considering tackling Jad as soon as members kicks in (2 days) 87 attack 80 def 76 str 84 ranged 56 Pray Should i use rune cbow + addy bolts, or crystal bow approach. Also, do you suggest using the ranger approach or guthans for my skill set? thanks
