  1. Thanks for the responses, everyone. I'll take a look and see what I think! Unfortunately my main is only 80 combat, so the clans with combat requirements - though they look good - are not really my focus. ^^;
  2. Hi there! I'm Keistera (Jack of all Trades), Mama Ursa (Cleric/Survivalist), Erbrynn (Mage), Erebus Sabre (Warrior) and Colonel Ives (undecided - cannibal). I'm looking for a clan that doesn't mind a casual player (I don't play extreeemely often). I don't have any accounts that are p2p, but I'm seriously considering it. I like the crafting aspect of RS the best, though I do poke at combat a fair bit. RS just gets kinda lonely when one is the only non-leet-speak-using person out of 500 people. ;) (Might be asking a bit much, but any clan that RPs would be *awesome*, all my characters but Ives have vague backstory.)
  3. Jaguars are still around? Awesome. I was a member for a while - that or allied, I don't remember. I used to be in The Kindred, I lead The Hunters' Clan (the first incarnation, I think, that was based loosely on Robert J. Sawyer's Quintaglio novels), and I was in a few others that I don't recall. Jaguars were some pretty cool folks. Glad to hear they're still about!
  4. If I were to join a clan (which would probably be a silly idea based upon my semi-retired status) it would have to be one that's very laid-back. A more PvE or Skill-based focus would be cool, with a helpful atmosphere and friendly, intelligent people. High literacy rates are a huge plus, since I have little patience for translating chatspeak. ;) If I found such a group, it might actually make me log into RS at home on occasion while I sit in the battleground queues in WoW, hahaha. Edit: I would also totally jump at the chance to join an RP clan.
  5. I'm more of a tradeswoman, really, so my answer would be "none of the above". If I were to be looking at clans based upon combat prowess (more difficult in RS due to the combat system compared to say, WoW or something - but I really don't PK so my knowledge on this is nil) then I'd probably pick random run-ins. I'd be more impressed with a clan that defeated a random attack ("We're outnumbered! Kill 'em anyway!" as opposed to "Run away! Run away!") than an arranged event such as a war. THEN AGAIN, a clan that has a good turn-out to a war is pretty impressive as well - that means there's loyalty there! Loyalty is a good thing. SO, it's a toss-up. Most important to me (and not even listed here) is how a Clan's members treat each other and non-members. If a Clan is full of jerks, they're not worth the time of day and therefore, their performance in wars and run-ins doesn't exactly matter to me. Sure, they can wipe the floor with Clan B, but they treat people like complete crud - so why should I care? TL;DR Version: My personal opinion is that the way the people act is more important than the war thing, but for the sake of this topic, it's a pretty equal mix between wars and run-ins.
  6. Thanks! This may be harder than I thought, as I'm sure most of them - like me - are either mostly retired and playing other games, or just don't read here. xD
  7. Keistera reporting. I had an old OOTHHG member add me on LJ, and that got me thinking - month or so later - how many of the little group are still about? Don't all jump up at once. No, seriously. One at a time now. C'mon.
  8. I hate to repeat everyone else, but... I <3 you!!! Seriously. Every RS player needs to read this article. The problem pointed out here is why I just cannot play RS for more than 5 minutes at a time anymore. I cannot read half the crud these kids type. My current goal in life is to get my PhD (heading to U of T for a History major next year, I hope) and become a University Professor. If any of my students handed in an essay that managed to slaughter the English language in the same way that many RS players do now, they would not make it out of the classroom alive. THANK YOU!
  9. Yeah, I'm a Python nut. To all my fellow Monty Python fans... which members of the troupe are your favourites? What are the most memorable moments (from the films or television show, it's up to you), and how did you discover them? Eric Idle and Michael Palin are my favourites. Eric, due to his songs and the fact that he's the sickest fo the bunch; Michael due to his sense of humour, both among the Pythons and on his various Travel shows. Two words: Spanish Inquisition. I discovered Python from a friend, who kept quoting them, and I kept asking... "Who are THEY?" She finally let me watch "Holy Grail", and I've been hooked ever since. This was at least 4 years ago. Any other takers? :P
  10. If the phrases "fr33 st0ff plz!!11!oneone!!11", "i died giv me itemes!" and others related to them would cause a Black Demon to be summoned to take out the person that said it. "YOU HAVE ANGERED ME!" *Swipe* *Noob dies* Yay. :D Making a quest that requires the picking of 5000 cabbages. :P
  11. This is my -first- pixel-ish-sig. How is it for a first try? I admit, I cheated a little. I imported the line art from adobe illustrator and filled in the lines with the pencil tool, then discarded the layer. (The pentacle, too). And there's a sort of ... blur... added to the pentacle. *cough* Other than the tiny-ness of it, and the things listed above, how is it? How can it be improved? Constructive critisism only, please... "u suk n00b" gets annoying after a while. :P (The image is actually in my sig...)
