  1. That surprises me.. :? Within say 40km of me there are dozens of schools (very populated area), and a majority of them have to wear ties as part of their uniform. Both private and public schools. Most schools in my area seem to have taken to ties, though i agree with what some of you said, i hate ties, they're so constricting. I wonder how many people on these forums could actually tie a tie, i learnt to do it when i was about 9 for school
  2. Yes there is, but clearly not in a situation like this. I have a friend who's very similar. He borrows money, and never ever pays it back.. He'll just not mention it and claim he completely forgot about it until you just mention it so much he finally pays you back. Not only that, he'll never have enough money so you have to cover him, he always leaves his wallet at home or in the car so you have to pay for him, and once again he rarely pays it back.. It's a shame when good friends become cheapskates as they get older. THe main problem is he has a job and works 4 days a week, sometimes 5, and i'm at uni most of the time, working 2 days a week mostly.. Yet me and a few other mates are constantly covering him. I would suggest you have to say something, you have to let him know or he'll just keep thinking he can get away with being a douche. It seriously damages friendships when people are like that, doesn't matter how well you know them, it's just a pathetic thing to do to a mate.
  3. Yeah i found out about this today, such a disappointment :( Warne is 10 times the bowler Murali is, he throws the ball, and will never get the same respect that Warne does At least we got the Ashes back though :)
  4. I have never broken a promise, and i never will. People these days are so untrustworthy. Words, feelings and trust is thrown around and abused like it means nothing. It just sickens me, so i never make a promise i can't keep but if i make one, i will not break it because that could hurt someone or break someone's trust, and i hate what it feels like when someone does that to you.
  5. Online IQ tests are never accurate. As someone stated before, the only way to test IQ properly is to take a 6-8 hour test given out by specialists who perform these tests for a living, and even these aren't necessarily truly indicative of someone's IQ, as they may be strong in some areas which IQ tests don't substantially cover or measure. Around here we had to do them before we could obtain entrance to our school, and it cost my parents a ridiculous amount, somewhere around $600 each (Australian). It would be interesting to see what everyone on here actually scored if they took a proper IQ test. I think the mean, which seems to probably be around 150 at the moment  would drop to around 110. But to everyone who claims their IQ is 160+, go join Mensa, because you're amongst the smartest people to ever live, including Einstein. Congratulations =D>
  6. Spiffy, no I did not know that. Thats kinda cool ^^ That entirely depends on how many blue lights you're talking about. Try putting 8 x 21 Blue LED rods in a car like a mate of mine has and see how you go seeing things
  7. Very interesting read.. There's been so many topics over the last few years on Zezima's "lack of life" and his college situation, and now it's focused on n0va. And whilst i do understand where the people are coming from when they're saying "It's his life, let him do what he pleases", but really, 12 hours playing a video game a day, for what, almost 2 years? I just can't fathom it.. It's utterly perplexing.. And i can't see how people can just accept it :? wow, n0va may be famous to an online community consisting of a majority of children, but does being good (i use the term loosely, him being "good" is more reliant on the insane amount he plays) at a computer game make a good life, and set a good example?? I just can't understand why anyone would want to do it.. Unless they're a recluse. Which i very much doubt. I just wish people would remember the basic principle of games like this, that they are actually games, something that should be played recreationally for fun in people's spare time, not something that should become an obsession and completely take over a person's life. Just my two cents, i'm not trying to show any disrespect, but i still just don't get the reasoning behind people doing these sort of things.
  8. And, as you said, aren't there countless shows on tv which are just the same crap? A fair proportion of shows on the tv now are just complete rubbish. I used to watch a lot of tv, now i barely watch anything. Just because every single show on is either ridiculously unrealistic, or just another of those stupid annoying bloody reality shows. TV's been flooded with pathetic shows, and yes, i myself may like the O.C. but i can completely understand where you're coming from. I still ask, where's the difference to any other rubbish on tv these days? If u were to pick away at every show on tv, i myself would struggle to find one or two that are even remotely decent, realistic and original. But you just need to learn to live with it, or don't watch tv :P
  9. I think you're singling me out, and I can't trust you. I simply laid out some facts and what I think is true, noone has been able to "prove" love exists. So what reason is there for one to believe it even exists? I prefer logic and reasoning over speculation and superstition. Logic doesn't always explain everything, you should know that.. Either way, i hope you enjoy being a sad little lonely person your entire life, while the rest of us enjoy being with the person we love the most, if we so choose to be :)
  10. I did 2 weeks of Work experience.. I did one week at Rothschild, an investment banking sort of firm, which was a hell boring week of constant work. They actually set up a whole massive program of lectures and that rubbish for us.. Then i did a second week of work experience at my dad's office, i went in for 2 days, got paid for it, and spent the rest of the week at home just chilling with some mates whilst everyone else was on cadet camp  Suckers..
  11. I've only been in 1 severe accident. I was in the back seat and 2 other mates were in the car, obviously the front seats, and some silly girl didn't see us stop, and she went straight into the back of us at around 80 Now that wasn't fun.. Luckily me and my mates got off pretty lightly, just some bruised ribs and whiplash and that rubbish.. But the girl driving the car who hit us, let's just say she wasn't in particularly good shape.. She survived tho, luckily :o
  12. Well, Halloween isn't really particularly big in Australia, and as i've stated previously, the wealthy people around here don't really appreciate being interrupted  So me and some mates usually just go and have some drinks somwhere, hang out, and let off fireworks around the entire area, it's always good fun :) For Christmas i'll be at home with my family, then leaving the next day to go to Byron Bay. It goes off at New Years, so i'll be up there till after New Years. Then after that i come back for a few days, then i'm off to 2 mates beach houses for around 3 weeks.. Then i guess i come back, beach some more around here, enjoy mu uni break.. And prepare for another hard year of uni  :P
  13. I live no the North Shore of Sydney, for anyone who knows where that is, it's a fairly wealthy area, so my mum is pedantic about locking our doors. I make sure they're locked, but she checks everything over and over and over.. I just don't see the big dela with putting a key in a few doors/windows.. It's worth the 30 seconds it takes, just on the slight chance that someone does try and rob you.
  14. Nope. The one at home is curved, so if you try to jump, you'll end up hitting a wall lol. Hahah! So do mine! Mine spiral 270 degrees....Everyone thinks i have weird stairs    I used to be able to jump mine when I had a railing. Now if i tried I would hit a wall because my stairset turns 90 degrees to the left 3/4 of the way down :S I spent hours and hours trying that over the years.. i have 17 stairs in my house, from 2nd to 1st floor, and i tried to figure out how many i could jump.. I managed to jump 9, but then it started to hurt and it started getting risky as there's an overhang i was almost wiping myself out on  It's been a while, i might go try again :o
  15. I did 4 Unit maths at my school, a selective private school, one of Sydney's best schools, and we never used graphing calculators..
