  1. I've got 4 letters and a punctuation for all 7 pages of this thread: TL;DR A 15 year old quits Runescape. NOBODY CARES.
  2. rofl you implyed you can use extremes in pvp. Your obvoiously 'legit.' And you realise most high levels who welfare (rune edge fights, welfare briding) use climbing boots also. I do admit I forgot that extremes cannot be used in PVP. And I am legit (definitely much more than stupid pures), but I don't PK. And if high levels wish to welfare, they should probably get rune boots. Those are exceedingly cheap and offer much better bonuses than a pair of silly climbing boots.
  3. The worst part of this whole bloody situation, which everyone is not emphasising enough, is that free cash is not going to legit players, those who PK professionally (95 Prayer and 96 Herblore), but wanna-be, whiny, inexperienced. underserving garbage pures, who safes and piles with rune scimitar and climbing boots. These vermin of Runescape are getting 50m pumped into their bank for doing absolutely nothing but saying 'GFLELELEL l0l0l0l luzlzilz I PKED J00 GOOD' and 'L0L09L0L I BEAT LVL 109 L0LOLOM U SUCKS7UCKLSCU' and PK so badly you sometimes question why PVP even exists in this god forsaken game. Now every pure who has a good stock of those climbing boots will be able to afford claws, decent herblore/prayer levels and are off to spec us legit players out of our dear lives. Run, comrades, run before our asses get [bleep]scratched.
  4. According to my calculations, and if assuming you are paying for all tree payments, then yews are 17+ gp/exp, magic at 15+ and maples at 12+. So, my calculations are based on whether you are a cheapo or not...if you are cash-sensitive, then maples for you. If you are not, magics (better exp than yews anyway). I threw yews out of my window =]
  5. This is a very very good guide. I definitely recommend this guide to be used together with this guide on Advanced Farming Route, link here: viewtopic.php?f=180&t=755958. I did some detailed calculations, considering all payments. At 72+ Farming, if farming 5 maple trees, 5 palm trees, 5 ranarrs, 4 poison ivy bushes, 1 calquat plant, 1 mushroom, 1 cactus and 1 jade vine EVERYDAY, you will gain a total of 90,949.7 exp, losing 689,846 gp. The resultant gp/exp ratio is -7.58. However, if one chooses to replace the 5 maple trees with magic trees at 75+ Farming, and everything else remains the same, he/she would gain a total of 143,141.7 exp, losing 1,496,296 gp, bringing us to a nice -10.45 gp/exp ratio. For maple trees, the oranges and baskets (as payment) are all bought from shops. Shop prices for the 2 items are 70- and 1 gp respectively. Also, for maple trees, 200 gp is included as payment for farmer to chop it down for you. However, for magic trees, I have excluded this fee and instead, assumed that the farmer would be chopping down his/her own tree (on average 10 magic logs/tree) and digging up the highly profitable roots. As for calquat payment, I assumed that the farmer is using 8 poison ivy berries out of the 16 he/she harvested. The calculations are also assuming your primary source of supercompost is from the 40 pineapples you can purchase daily from Catherby general store - since the price is so cheap, supercompost costs are negligible in the following calculations. Average herb harvest/patch is estimated at 6.33. It is also assumed that cactus will always yield 3 spines. Feel free to include the following calculations in your guide: (prices are accurate as of 10th August 2009) Maple tree: (Going the 72+ method) Seed cost: 5(43,100 + 200) = 216,500 Payment cost: 5(5 X 70 + 1) = 1755 Total cost: 218,255 Total exp: 5(3430.4 + 45) = 17,377 Magic tree: (Going 75+ method) Seed cost: 5(199,800) = 999,000 Payment cost: 5(25 X 1086) = 135,750 Harvest profit: 5(10 X 1372 + 8489) = 111,045 Total cost: 1,024,705 Total exp: 69,569 Palm tree: Seed cost: 5(104,400) = 522,000 Payment cost: 5(15 X 780) = 58,500 Harvest profit: 5(6 X 1086) = 32,580 Total cost: 547,920 Total exp: 52,548 Ranarr herbs: Seed cost: 5(39,400) = 197,000 Harvest profit: 5(6.33 X 9247) = 292,821 Total profit: 95,821 Total exp: 5(27 + 6.33 X 30.5) = 1101 Poison ivy bushes: Seed cost: 4(529) = 2116 Harvest profit (considering half the harvest will be made as payment for calquat plant): 2(4 X 1115) = 17,840 Total profit: 6804 Total exp: 4870 Mushroom: Seed cost: 374 Harvest profit: 0 (can be used as supercompost) Total cost: 374 Total exp: 61.5 + 6 X 57.7 = 407.7 Calquat: Seed cost: 36,400 Harvest profit: No market for calquat fruits. CANNOT BE TURNED INTO SUPERCOMPOST. Total exp: 129.5 + 12,096 + 6 X 48.5 = 13,380.5 Cactus: Seed cost: 105 Harvest profit: 3(3671) = 11,013 Total profit: 10,908 Total exp: 66.5 + 374 + 3 X 25 = 515.5 Jade vine: (assuming you let the vine go wild, meaning you will only get Farming experience every 2 days) Payment cost: 10 X 43 = 430 Total exp: 750 (per day) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In conclusion: 72+ Farming run Total cost: 689,846 Total exp: 90,949.7 Gp/exp ratio = -7.58 75+ Farming run Total cost: 1,496,296 Total exp: 143,141.7 Gp/exp ratio: -10.45
  6. Your friend must be really stupid. Any pig with half a brain would know not the go to links/sites given by a complete stranger. I don't understand how people can actually fall for that. "It could happen to you at any time if your not prepared"--it would not happen at all if people start to be less gullible.
  7. Ok sure. A side question: I did not download anything, did not visit any other websites in the past weeks. How come I still found a trojan in my computer?
  8. Has anyone else's account recovery appeal taken more than 2 hours?
  9. I woke up this morning to find my Runescape password changed. I quickly did an account recovery and filled in every of those boxes there...Jagex promised to reply to my request in about an hour. It has been 4 hours since I submitted my appeal and my appeal status still says "pending". What is going on?
  10. How bad is the exp rate nerf? I hope it isn't too bad...I don't understand why Jagex doesn't want us to frenzy-click till our wrists die. If players choose to do it that way, then they should be give the rights to do so. I think Jagex should implement the option to switch between "manual clicking" and "make/cut/pray-x" options.
  11. I am quite sure that the MAX for Barbarian fishing is 75,000 exp/hr. 40k or 45k is way off. However, I do agree that the cut-all update slowed it down a little, but I think exp rate should still linger around 55-60k/hr MAX.
  12. I've got a feeling this topic is more appropriate for Help and Advice. But seriously, in spite of the fact that using an illegal 3rd party software is against the rules, you shouldn't have done that. Your intention was malicious. You did not report because you felt that reporting was the way to identify and rectify your friend's mistake, you reported with the hope of ruining your friend's account as an act of MALICIOUS REVENGE. So, pray hard now that your friend is not using the software to his UNFAIR ADVANTAGE, because if he gets banned, you are going to be haunted by your own actions for life. Or at least a very long time. Like a week.
  13. I am clueless, that's why I need your help. For starters I am using the most updated versions of Kaspersky and Spybot - Search & Destroy. I scan my computer very regularly. I do not find anything at all, each time. I have a highly secure firewall switched on at all time. I was still hacked today. The hacker moved my character a bit, but luckily touched nothing. However, I really want this to stop. I don't think there's anything wrong with my security measures. How on EARTH did the hacker get my password then? Thanks for your help! Edit: I heard my amateur hacker friend talk about certain "scripts" the other day. If anyone knows what this is or perhaps anything related to this, please help me by posting here!
  14. Hi fellow TIFers, The problem started this morning. Runescape at first refused to load; "Connecting to update server" title remained there for a very very long time and after about 4 minutes, this error message from Runescape came up: "Error_game_js5connect - Unable to connect to update server. RuneScape was unable to connect to the update server. This is most likely caused by a firewall blocking the connection. To resolve this: * If you have firewall or security software installed, they can often block RuneScape from accessing its servers. Please ensure that RuneScape/Java can connect to its servers on port 43594. * Note: Windows XP Service Pack 2 has built in firewall software. If, when loading RuneScape, this asks if you want to allow the connection, you need to say 'yes'. * If that doesn't help, then an external firewall may be causing the problem. Please ask your network adminstrator/ISP to open port 43594 for TCP traffic so that RuneScape and Java can run correctly. If problems persist, please refer to the Technical FAQs, which can be found in the Customer Support section of our website." After refreshing the page for a while, I tried again, and now I barely made through to the "Enter your username and password" page. I logged in, only to realise that the game was really laggy for me. It was not the kind of lag when your computer is old and stuff. A minute things were fine, the next moment I was lagging and the "Loading-please wait" message was stuck there. Shortly after, I was disconnected and RS was trying to re-establish connection. However, it failed and the entire game just jammed there, refusing to move for a long time. This cycle went on for about 25 minutes until I finally had enough and closed the window. I did not know what to do, so I went to RSOF to check out things. True enough, there are cases of "Loading-please wait" messages being stuck and many cases of people being constantly disconnected, like I was. This is the sticky on RSOF by Andrew http://forum.[Please Use QuickFind Code].ws?25,26,344,57720671 . Also, I tried both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer 6 and both did not work. If I need to re-install Java or something like that, please do tell me how because I am really not very familiar with such things! Guys tell me how to solve my 2 problems! Thanks!
