  1. Probably because the infinitely superior maple logs can be obtained so easily with MTK. It's why those dropped from 100 -> 60 -> 30, and of course that would have an effect on worse items.
  2. Terrible idea that should never be done again. If they continue doing this, skills like Summoning and Herblore will only be trained on these weekends, which will ruin the entire point of the game IMO. It's clear that one weekend is enough for people to gain massive xp and levels in these money sinks.
  3. Agility IS more rare than the others though because you go over a wall or pipe perhaps once or twice a minute if you are doing laps. So you have 1 or 2 chances per minute to get a rock while training agility, but while fishing, the odds are exponentially higher. So if this supposed random number generator makes fishing hard, oh well, it'll take 5 minutes instead of 1. If agility becomes rare, good luck in getting that rock within a few hours. Basically this minigame which wants us to train all of our skills is leading people to cheat the system (ala runecrafting 1 essence at a time) by jumping back and forth over low walls. Surely this wasn't intended... hopefully it'll get nerfed somehow. Hunter is like this as well, and we all know how horrific the Construction rock is. And I also have my own theory about this random number generator. I believe that it resets whenever you log out. I was struggling with the agility rock again (AGAIN it had taken over 2 hours). I logged out and in, and got in on my second low wall. 15 minutes later, didn't have the 2nd rock. Tried my method again and had the rock within 5 minutes. Not sure if it's accurate but it's worth a try for anyone.
  4. Hunter is ticking me off too. I still haven't gotten my second second stone (is that right :o ). And agility is ridiculous too. I got the first stone from Brimhaven, and then I gained over 200K agility xp from the advanced Gnome course and then went to the Barbarian course and climbed the wall once, and bam had the second stone. Smithing also has been long for me. Skills that need fixing: Agility, Construction, Hunter Mining and Fishing are both too easy. I'm wondering if there is an insanely easy way to get the stones for each skill though. I know that pickpocketing master farmers got me both thieving stones within 1 minute both times. Pure essence mining got me them in one inventory. Fishing monks, etc..
  5. Relatively, obviously. Ugh, it's so annoying when people nitpick and take every word literally.
  6. It's funny to me that people think that the statue will be common 40 or so weeks from now. I know there are skills I don't touch for months on end (hello, Hunter and Mining), and that alone ruins the chance of updating my statue each week. What's to say that a large portion of players will switch skills every few weeks, let alone every week? I say the odds are very slim, and it's only the people who are specifically trying to get a statue that will be doing it. We might get a few influxes of statues in the 30-35 week mark, but very few more will trickle in after that because most who are trying to build it will already have. Now if the reward is good, we will see more people in the distant future going after it. Especially the fact that the incentives of getting rocks don't outweigh the incentives to train agility at better courses. Why should I demote my agility training from Adv. Barbarian to some lower course just so I can build a statue in my house?
  7. Yeah, I saw that. It might be because I didn't go through any of the conversations with the archaeologists. I don't think I spoke with them at all except about the plinth after I'd already built the first statue.
  8. So the finished statue pretty much takes forever to get? Champions Challenge v2, anyone? I never got that message about 0 of 30 stones. Come to think of it, I never got a message when I received a rock. It just appeared in my inventory, and I had to notice it that way. Is there a reason for that...?
  9. For what it's worth, the Replica Statue Piece's examine is: "An intricately carved replica statue piece" It has a Look At option which says, "This replica piece of the statue of Dahmaroc was created for you by the archaeologists of Varrock Museum."
  10. I just tested it with another pair of stones, and you get the same amount of XP all over again for adding the stones to the Varrock statue.
  11. Well I logged out since I'm tired of RS now. Some things I did: Crafted P ess one at a time by dropping and picking up. Mined P ess - got stones in less than one inventory Crafted hardleather bodies so I didn't break the bank Made Energy pots because I didn't want to waste any good herbs The rest is self-explanatory except Hunter was annoying. I got the first with falconry but then switched and got the second with red chins. Same with Smithing. Got the first with addy bolts, tried addy bars, but got the second right when I switched to steel bars.
  12. OOOOH There is a new Statue space in the STUDY. Plinth goes there. Pic soon!
