Out of context micro-payments quote aside, I'm far more interested in the fact Cousens was accused of corporate fraud, pocketing a 800,000$ "bonus" while Acclaim was going bankrupt. I can't find any information on how the lawsuit was settled. Then he goes on to join codemasters as CEO, does well for a while, until things start taking a nosedive and keep getting worse for years. This guy leaves destruction in his wake and Runescape is his next plaything, I think you should be worried.
I draw embarrassing things. You'll find out the weird stuff I'm into by looking at my pictures. But it's not like I don't want people to look at them. So I'll just leave this here and back away slowly. I'm not good, expect nothing except maybe mental scarring.
Wow nobody complained for almost a whole month. Allow me to break the streak.
So a game art director re-tweeted a fanart I made about a game, saying that he liked it and thought it was interesting. My DA account suddenly got 400 views in a day because of it. I should be happy about it but actually I only feel pressure because I know there's no way I can meet anybody's expectations. Just drawing something semi-decent takes hours of work. I know I sound like a princess and that this is ridiculous but I feel really weird about the whole thing.
I would have broken my pencil in half by now if it weren't for the fact I'm drawing with a mechanical one. Anatomy, proportion, perspective, shading, hands, there isn't a single aspect of drawing that isn't tricky as [bleep]. I must of sunk at least 500 hours practising in the last few months but everything is as tricky as ever.
When people say to replace PCs every 2 years they mean in order to maintain top performance on games. Obviously the components can last much longer. I think changing PC every 2 years is a bit excessive, but some people have a lot of money and care a lot about any small drop in performance.
I quit around the time of EoC but I was already fed up with several aspects of the game.
EoC was just what tipped me to 100% done.
I still pop in every few months to see what's new. I've seen talk of tier weapons and armors, I'm out of the loop so I don't understand what anybody is saying. But really all it sounds like is an uphill grind, more work. And to that I say: Nope, I'll pass.
In the past, even on a hiatus I would log in to grab special holiday rewards, it was pretty much the only remaining link I kept with the game. But then they started making major holiday rewards members-only, and I was 100% done with that too. If they think I'll sub just to get a holiday reward, more like I'll never come back again, ever.
Is RS dying? Maybe, maybe not. All I know is I'm not playing anymore. I stopped around EoC, I didn't like spamming skills. The solomon store also annoyed me, if the items had been tradable for gp I might not have minded so much, that way you could have gotten things through normal playing. I logged in briefly to check out this "Runescape 3" hype. There is no RS3, all I see is RS2 with slightly different graphics, all hype if I ever saw it. Maybe the engine behind the game is better or something, doesn't change much to me. Back in RS1 when RS2 was being made, we didn't get any updates for like a year. When RS2 came out, it was a new game, truly a 2.0. This is not the case here. From comments divination doesn't sound that interesting. Obviously I'm interested enough in the game to come here and check up on things, but for now I see no reason to return.
When there's comments/reviews on something coming from people who have yet to try(insert any verb) something, could be a film, a product, a recipe, etc. Eg. You find a recipe, you get 50 reviews of people saying "That looks amazing, I'll try it tonight!" and then like 2 reviews of people who actually made it. Why don't you give your opinion after you try it instead of being useless?
So I haven't time to comment on this yet. I like this update, it's entertaining(as much as something like that can be) and doesn't require you to play much to advance. I can't play much these days so that's good. I look forward to getting the new armours, even if looks like it'll take forever. One criticism I have is that the timers are abritary, making us wait 1h versus 20 minutes from the earlier missions is really just there to artifically lengthen the time it takes to get stuff.
