RuneScape Information

  1. Surely there are two main reasons: 1 - It is a P2P skill 2 - Most people would rather do combat (hence Slayer being a much higher rank) in P2P than sink money into construction
  2. For extremes and overloads - aren't they only so strong because they are relatively difficult/time consuming to make, thus making it worthwhile to those who take the time to make them? Just a thought, but a good idea overall :)
  3. Hey, I was wondering what you guys' thoughts were on smithing burial armour using Iron Ingot I for cheap xp. Iron ingot I are 1 iron ore each and give 100xp before percentage bonuses... Just wondering if this is a good idea to carry on considering the cheap xp... Cheers
  4. Mezlar was always a fun 'boss'...would love to see more content based around him...
  5. A slighty more interesting way to level crafting, and gain some benefit to you character would be to make urns in Barbarian village. Everything is available there, mine the clay in the new mine to the south of the village, turn it into soft clay via the well in the centre of town and then mould it and fire it in the kiln there. No idea about exp rates, but it is completely free, and the urns can then be used for prayer/ any other skill you fancy training next :) Just thought it was worth mentioning :) the other option is hard leather bodies.
  6. Hey all, Was just wondering what people think the best F2P money maker is? At the moment, I smelt steel bars from iron and coal, and sell on - it's good, but rather slow money. I recently delved into superheating steel bars, buying all the resources, but due to very unstable prices, it has become non-profitable (perhaps only temporarily) I was just wondering if anyone had another good way of generating some capital - i'm thinking of seriously leveling cooking....
  7. I quite frankly, find quest rather dull and boring, (saying that I would rather stand and cut willows for hours on end, but not solve puzzles and progress through a storyline??) and being F2P I am rather limited to what I could do, but I completed all of the F2P quests over two days, no great feat, but a considerable amount of questing, I also gathered all the resources on the go as well..... Even when I've had a members account, quests were never very appealing, but I did do them a few at a time.....
  8. Whilst this is a very valid point, and knowing the maturity of the majority of users of runescape it will probably be correct. But it also recognizes true loyalty to the game, and usually wisdom that comes with that. I think it is more of a community update than anything else. I support the idea, but only because my accounts date back to around 2004....
  9. Really good effort there with the gravite staff  F2P mage Armour has always been a hot topic on the suggestions forums, and I always enjoyed reading about people's ideas. In truth jagex hasn't really changed the F2P set-up, as FoG have the rather annoying recharge rates. The only good addition to the set up has been the 'Tome of Frost' and the 'Arcane' neck lasses introduced with dungeoneering......Which tbh I won't be getting. Interesting too see the progress over the past few years though :^_^:
  10. For me, the most interesting part will be what will be available to us free players.... I love the skill but it is deathly repetitive and the time chunks it takes to beat a dungeon can be a little long, as well as if I accidentally crash and log out whilst solo-ing, I've lost serious play time.... But great skill none-the-less, I'm saving up for a coal bag :) epic guild mining ftw
  11. It initially sounds like the competition won't work, as it's the kind of thing that only tight-knit forums have done before (TET anyone?). I personally will not be signing up, I'm not on enough for me to be bothered, but if it is implemented well, it could be a step in the right direction in terms of the whole clan thing.... Why didn't they use the three gods as 'clans'? Or would that be too religiously imposing?
  12. I've played since 2004 (maybe 2005) and have seen RuneScape in many forms. The big wildy/pvp change was a big problem when it first occurred, and there were hundreds of topics across all fansite forums about the end of RuneScape. Look where it is now, 5 skills later, a very different game with a generation of newer players. Whilst this may have made the game worse in some peoples' eyes, it has also made it more enjoyable for some. The seemingly flexible game that RuneScape is means that it will be around for a lot longer, and will probably be condensed into a smaller, easier game somewhen near the end of it's useful life. But due to it being constantly updated, it makes it very hard for RuneScape to just stop completely very quickly. I predict another good 5-10 years tbh, JaGeX will probably update it into a different game by that time though. Well i'm off to go run around a dungeon now :)
  13. Hi guys, A quick question about this: Am I supposed to be able to access the lower floors, as I am lvl 13 I should get up to floor 7. any ideas why i can't access them? cheers
  14. Very interesting topic indeed :) I feel that it may, for some people, be dependent on money, happiness, but I for one think otherwise. I have created countless accounts to just mess around at a low level - fishing pures, def pures, range pure, even my main account atm - a F2P pure (oh god prayer is fun :ohnoes: ). But I think having a large amount of knowledge behind the game helps to - you know where to go, what to get, what to do etc. - which is something money cannot buy. You mine coal all day - make a decent profit - but not know what exactly to do with your money. So a bit of knowledge and money is good. But your conclusion that at a certain point money creates no more happiness is absolutely spot on :) I have had around 15 mil gp, I am now on 3 mil gp (F2P). I probably love playing the game more that I did with 15 mil gp. Great topic muggi
  15. Thank you, the xp rates from this are much much better than just smelting :) The bonus of Mage xp is also good :) Whilst the profits are gone, the speed of it outweighs that. Thanks guys
