should i use lash,deflect or flick, if lash trains both isnt that like the best, or is there some catch that makes it inferrior(sp)?

well controlled trains all four skills with 1.33 multiplyer the other two either train attack at 3 and hp at 1.33 or def at 3 and hp at 1.33.  I used controlled, some people get anooyed at how long it takes to get a level in one skill, but in the end you get about teh same amount of xp

Lash (controlled) is slower but it lvls str def atta and hits. While deflect just lvls defence and hits and flick just attack and hits. So it depends what lvls you are training...

personally, I dont use the controlled option as it means that strength is levelled very slowly. I use the other options for fast defence and attack levelling, and then the dragon scimmy for levelling my strength, on things like easy slayer tasks or killing hill giants for limps.
