Being one who tends to take longer breaks from games, I can see this not being great for some people. It sucks in the obvious way that no one wants to pay more money, but I'll still be playing as a member even if I do lapse out of membership. =p I think it was obvious how much the number of average players on at any time sank with the removal of bots. As fantastic as it was to see them gone (they made portions of the game absolutely unplayable,) there's no doubt in my mind that it was making up a large percentage of Jagex' income from subscribers. While so many bots existed, Jagex most likely purchased the servers to handle so many players, and now they have to continue to afford that, so the price is falling onto the backs of legitimate players. For me, it's worth the trade-off: $8 for a playable game vs. $6 for a bot-ridden one, and the extra $2 is well spent. Still, I cannot help but think that this price increase wouldn't have been necessary if bots hadn't taken over to the degree they were able to, in the first place.
