Blast from the Past
Hey blog readers...
The other night I paged through my old mining blog till morning and it brought back many fond memories. I had only just been a RuneScape player for a few months and was already enamored with the game. I had made some very dear friends who have now retired or are not as active as before (namely John Cable14 and The Foo 1000 <3:). 99 mining was a goal that seemed far off and to me it would be an endless journey that would keep me committed to playing RuneScape. I was also an F2P player at the time, that was a humble level 63, who dreamed of wearing some nice saradomin armor (the god armors of course being the pinnacle of F2P armors).
It was an interesting day at good ol' Rimmington Mine that lead me to becoming a Tip.It blogger. I was chatting with my friend The Foo 1000 via pm and he was keeping me very good company as I toiled away with my pickaxe. He remarked how amazed he was at how I had come along way since we had met at the Lumbridge Swamp mithril mine. When I mentioned to him that I am going to attempt to go for 99 mining, he told me, "Lady you should blog it!" So I took his advice and decided to create a blog here on Tip.It, since I was already a member of the forums, and had grown an attachment to this amazing community.
Writing up my first post on blogscape was a little scary! People don't realize how hard it is to truly introduce yourself :ohnoes:. I racked my brain, trying to think of how people could ever recall who I was, or ever bother to read the babble that I wrote. Then it hit me...whenever I frequented the Mining Guild, alot of regulars there would say, "Look its the girl with a tiara who likes to mine alot! Don't you ever leave?" It was a nickname that gave me a laugh whenever I saw it and thought it was a nice alias to go by. So I stamped my blog with tiara and mining goodness, said a prayer, and finally posted it.
Dusty Footage from the Archive
Since the first day that I blogged, I've had a rush of achievements follow. Its like the community was behind my back, pushing me along, to get me to achieve my goal. I recall posting this entry when I was near 85 mining and decided to do a pretend rune mining run. It was an embarrassing affair and I was almost ashamed to write about it. Despite the failure of it, I had messages coming in from several Tip.Iters offering help, advice, or motivation...it amazed me how much this community cared about my success! Things only got better and better...
So I just want to say, thank you Tip.It community for making me feel welcome then - and for the years to come!
