Is the Pyramid the best way to lvl?

in my opinion, i would mine rune essence, until you can do iron(southeast varrock) or silver. do that until coal... get to the mining guild (which is lvl 60) and mine coal and mith.. I'm sure there's other people who have a better method.. this is just my opinion.

would you use all the ore that you mined to lvl your smithing?

im trying to get into the kharazi jungle, do i need to have the legends quest done? or is there a way to get down there without it..
