  1. I have a huge guide that hasn't been update in years. If anyone wants to check it out, here's the link. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=278219

So many people ask for me to add things and I usually don't.

I am letting anyone PM me an application to make a topic using my guide and adding their own information. The application should include the reason why you want to edit it and your background in RS and qualifications.

Once you have started the topic, a mod close close this one.

Most of the things that are outdated are prices and new methods to make money.

No text. Just a plain light blue banner.

  3. Also, synchronize only has a 50% chance of working. And really, I wouldn't use synchronize on anything other than dittos because breeding is way better than catching when you need pokemon with 3 perfect IVs and the rest 20+.

  4. It's actually 1 IV from mother and father, and the rest are random. Having good IVed and Nature Dittos help alot for IV breeding..

    You sure?

I just ran some calculations, and it would seem that a very large number of pokemon players have been getting very very very lucky with their eggs.

its a chance of 1:31 to get one with maxed iv in 1 stat, and 1:31^5 to find one maxed iv in all stats. a ditto that passes ivs isnt realy helpfull because i always find me getting the wrong ivs for the stats. and you cant realy calculate what the iv will be, just because 99% of the pokemons arnt ev trained, so you wont know what ivs and evs they've got :XD:

Yes, I know how to calculate actually.

And yes, dittos work. In fact, 19% of dittos have a perfect IV. That, coupled with the synchronize ability, means that getting a ditto with the nature you need plus the IV you need is very doable.

Breeding with dittos is extremely useful. Let's give an example of a breeding chain...

You want a hippowdon let's say. So you'll want to have perfect IVs in attack, hp, and defense.

Ditto w/ 31 IV in HP + Hippopotus = Hippopotus w/ 31 IV in HP

    31/x/x/x/x/x + x/x/x/x/x/x = 31/x/x/x/x/x = 11%

Ditto w/ 31 IV in ATK + Hippopotus w/ 31 IV in HP = Hippopotus w/ 31 IV in ATK and HP

    31/x/x/x/x/x + x/31/x/x/x/x = 31/31/x/x/x/x = 2.5%

Ditto w/ 31 IV in DEF + Hippopotus w/ 31 IV in ATK and HP

    x/x/31/x/x/x + 31/31/x/x/x/x = 31/31/31/x/x/x = 0.3% (.15% since you'll want the correct nature)

So yes, it's time consuming, but it can be done.

And for calculating IVs, you can make a simple program to calculate them, in C++ or Java, or whatever you want. Using the target IV method, it's fairly easy to determine if your pokemon has the desired IV. Plus, there's lots of good calculators out there. You will need rare candies with you though, so I usually carry 50-100, so that I can check the IVs of 5 or 6 of my pokemon at a time.

  5. It's actually 1 IV from mother and father, and the rest are random. Having good IVed and Nature Dittos help alot for IV breeding..

    You sure?

I just ran some calculations, and it would seem that a very large number of pokemon players have been getting very very very lucky with their eggs.

  6. For breeding purposes, the child will get three random IVs from the father and three random IVs from the mother.

    Uhh...are you sure??

I was under the impression that it goes like this: random IVs are created for the baby, then one random IV from either parent is passed down, then one random IV other than HP is selected from either parent and passed down, then one random IV other than HP or Defense is selected from either parent and is passed down.

The number of IV's directly passed down is always three, but due to overlaps and the fact that the baby can have the same IV as the parent, it will seem to inherit anywhere from 1 to 4 IVs, but there is a chance that 5(.58%) and 6(.01%) can be "passed" down.

    Woot, just got a 12 - 13 / 1 / 29 / 31 / 31 / 31 chimchar. Unfortunately, I wasn't breeding for nature, so it sucks, so it will become the parent.

  7. I hit 100 hours today, I was breeding chimchars, hoping for a 20+/31/20+/31/20+/31 IV spread.

I think I've bred over 200 chimchars, but no luck, but I'll get one eventually.

Small note, if you get any with 31 IV in ANY area, keep it for breeding out the best IV's you can get. Then work with those, raising your stats selectively. I spent a month building a Hippowdon with a good tank nature, a male gender, and 31/31/31/28/31/31 IV spread, which I cloned through the GTS and promptly traded for some rare berries and a NYPC Lickilicki with the following moves:

    Wish

    Heal Bell

    Me First

    Explosion(STABed power!!!)

Yeah, I think I'm going about my breeding and such in the most effiecient way.

    1. Get ralts/abra with the nature you want and synchronize ability

    2. Hunt dittos, keep the ones with perfect IVs

    3. Breed with whatever

    4. Make breeded ones parents, both with at least 1 perfect IV

    5. Rinse and repeat

  8. I hit 100 hours today, I was breeding chimchars, hoping for a 20+/31/20+/31/20+/31 IV spread.

I think I've bred over 200 chimchars, but no luck, but I'll get one eventually.

  9. Wheres the Wishbringer, Jirachi? Or Deoxys? Or even Mew for that matter?
Jirachi - Transfer from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Fire Red/Leaf Green after obtaining it from an event

Deoxys - Transfer from Emerald/Fire Red/Leaf Green after catching it

Mew - Transfer from Emerald after catching it

Most legendaries can only be obtained by transferring then from the GBA games.

I mean that he brought up 4 legendaries as "proof".

I brought up 3 others that he missed. The list he missed is Moltres, Zapos, Articuno,[garden tool]-oh, Lugia, Suicine, Raikou, Entei, Kyogre, Groundon, Latias, Laitos, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Regigigas, Heatran, Giratina, Cresselia, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai and Shaymin.

(Most of them from the top of my head, dunno if I've missed any as I don't own D/P)

Oh and Mew can be obtained in Red, Blue and Green.

sorry, but are you a nerd? a poke-nerd? since when can anyone name that many pokemon in a row without getting shamed in todays pokemon-hating society

o-t so many games, and only about 4 colours left

tbh it is the same game, same genre, same goal, same style gameplay,

i admire pokemon ranger and mystery dungeon, because there different

but omg why buy 12 copies of grand theft auto, or fifa? because your sad for not knowing its the same game

It's called different metagame, different format with different styles, different moves and movesets. Battle at the competitive level varies between the versions, as do stat determinations (EVs, IVs, etc) which changes the metagame drastically.

But what I want to know is this. Why do you believe people these days think pokemon is nerdy, and hate pokemon players?
