  1. The reason why you can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t comprehend where the universe came from etc. is because humans can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t understand things levels above or below them. We understand things on the atomic level (classical physics - projectile motion, wind resistance, energy to mass ratio etc) but we can only guess at what is on the sub-atomic level (atom/quantum, GRW theories) and the macro-atomic level (Big-bang, many world interpretations). Like the same way we can not visualise 4 dimensions (since we live in 3 space dimensions). For example; if you were an atom and could ask yourself what the big picture was you would only be able to respond with what you are doing (I.e. flying around space or stuck next to another atom in a bond), do you really understand that you are a person or part of the earth? Would you know what each of the particles that make you would in turn be made of? Darwinism explains why we need to eat a lot of high energy food and the need to feel pain. We enjoy fatty foods because we never know when we will be eating next (much like an animal catching his prey. It may never know when the next catch will be). The same reason why need feel pain; so we can prevent the pain from killing us. These are left overs from Darwinism (survival of the fittest), when we actually had to hunt and run away from predators. We didn't just magically appear on earth, we had to fight our way up the food chain and evolve and learn new tactics. You may say it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a load of crock but that's most likely because you misunderstood it. Science didn't create these things, the environment did. What happens after death? Well it won̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be going to heaven because that breaks the second law of thermodynamics in every single way. "the entropy of the universe increases during any spontaneous process", you were using a person as the system in this law, death would mean you have reached the upper limit of entropy and would mean nothing is possible after due to the fact that your energy is spread out evenly so it prevents any reactions from happening (as your consciousness is made up of energy which will fail to entropy when you are dead). What will happen? Most likely your body will lose all of its energy and break back down in to the earth. But you already know that so why do you ask what will happen after death? Sorry to sound rather grim but that̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s what our lives revolve around.
  2. You do know the Nazi's believed in god as well! God gave them Germany and was on their side. God is always on your side, the believed in a god yet were what you call morally incorrect. I say trends make morals, without people to make the trends there would be no need for morals or god for that matter. E.g. it was common in Italy (might still be for all I know) for women to be groped and was morally acceptable behaviour, but most countries would find that disrespectful.
  3. I agree with the point that about proving within reason, as science is only an interpretation of what is happening in the universe (as definition has it, however science can explain phenomena to almost 0 degree's of error.). An alien's version of classical physics would be completely different from ours but will prove the exact things (universal phenomena). If god ever exerts a non-philosophical (as faith, books etc. is philosophy rather then scientific measurement) presence over the universe (which can be measured, like that will happen) then we can come to a solution. But you have to understand that god the creator of the universe can be scientifically deducted however a Christian god can not (until any real world measurement is realised). So basically I will wait till god (as a Christian god, Multi-verse theory etc.) can be shown to be correct with almost 0 degree of error.
  4. I'm agnostic :o Atheists are just as ignorant as believers. I believe in what science proves. If god is real, so be it. If he is not, so be it. Till that time cares religious debate will always end in a flame war, and I will sit back and laugh and play devils advocate for both sides trying to fight this ridiculous argument. Thanks for your time. P.S ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ I believe many of you are mixing up the terms atheist and agnostic. People who are atheist disbelieve god when science has proven beyond a doubt that god exists. Agnostics are fence sitter̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s.
  5. I don't know what that has to do with this? there are things called feelings that you share with something or someone. when you see your friend you say "heey " not "heey over glorified energy process" right? Yes that̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s because we are mentally developed, we are capable of feelings, where as an unborn child has not had any opportunity to gain any feelings externally (although you can argue that it does inside the womb this is however purely sensory. It has no contact with anything other then processes that keep it living. People can not develop emotion without something to develop it from). You have to draw the line somewhere otherwise you can bring it back and say that the you are murdering the potential of millions of children with your sperm (animals have feelings yet they run on instant, the same can be said about sperm (albeit a much simpler form of instinct reacting to the chemicals around it), So wouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t leaving sperm for death be just as cruel as killing animals for no reason). In essence we are just a reaction to action (just a very complex set of said actions/reaction). Ohh I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m not taking my stance seriously I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m just trying to make a point at how ridiculous the argument itself is. There is no way we can make a united stance, much the same way we can not prove/disprove god. People will always have a view and no matter what it will not be changed without definite fact (which we can not provide). Even then some people will disbelieve the fact in order to preserve their original reasoning.
  6. It seems that people fail to realise that people are really just structured energy. Our thoughts, actions and existence are merely a combination of elements and energy values. Our thought processes are movements of energy; we do not contain anything that makes us unique to the earth we live on or the sun that gives us our light. Therefore abortion is really just the loss of potential energy transfers (from sun to person). Humans are an over glorified energy process. Cry murder at the electric companies for the massive inefficiency of power transmission. The power lost on some of those lines can create thousands of people per mile. Therefore abortion should be a natural process, if it wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t then would the carrier be left with some kind of physical defect? The carrier̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s body reset̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s itself like nothing happened. EDIT: * Not Crazy
