  1. Raising the restriction for cookies will not help you become secure. Sure, it can stop malicious cookies, but unless implement some sort of filter, an average user is most likely going to run into login problems.

Unless you are an advanced user, disabling services is not recommended at all. You can break your operating system by disabling the wrong services. Some programs will also install their own services in order to run. By disabling these services, your programs may not work.

Not everything on your startup list is malicious. By disabling everything except anti-spyware, you're making yourself more vulnerable. The average user is going to wonder why his/her anti-virus or firewall isn't working, both of which are far more important than anti-spyware.

Most people aren't using Windows Firewall, so the third advice isn't applicable since they should be disabled by the third-party firewall. If you are using Windows Firewall however, checking the no exceptions option will cause a few problems with applications that require inbound connection. Things like torrents, chat programs and other stuff requires inbound connection.

I had no idea what the fourth advice was. Assuming it was about anti-virus, that is pretty much self-explanatory. Furthermore, most anti-virus programs have real-time scanning, which means you're not likely to find a virus going past your shields. There's no harm in scanning once in a while though.

Scanning Ad-aware everytime you log in and out is just a waste of time. Doing it once a week or a month is much better.

Errdoth's link contains much better advice. There is also another important thing to remember. No program is going to save you from stupidity. Always practice safe surfing.

  2. If I recall correctly, the left half is from Phoenix Gang. I'm not so sure though.

Your best bet would be to create a new account and get into the Phoenix Gang. If it turns out to be the right half, then join the Black Arm Gang on your other account to get the left. If not, then you should know which gang to go to.
