If she is still holding out hope that her boyfriend's good side will resurface, then what she is doing to you is cruel because that implies that if his good side does resurface, then you'll be dumped. And even if she doesn't, how long is she going to wait before giving up hope? There's no way of knowing. But all the while, you're getting strung along. If she's dating him just to prove to people that she can date for a certain amount of time, well that's just stupid. I don't see why she should care what other people think about her dating life, and especially not if it interferes with being with someone she claims to love.

I think your patience with Lacey is remarkable. I don't see how she could still be in a relationship with her boyfriend when she claims to love you and NOT her boyfriend. Why then is she even in that relationship? I assume you've asked her.
