  1. if its possible or not to take over an area shouldn't be seen as impossible. I think we can all agree it will be fun to see tip.it try to take over an area (or any other fansite for that matter) then either defend it or break it up. Personally my two choices would be White knight castle: f2p and ardy/seers/catherby: p2p.

     

     

     

    Some people said gangs would rule over areas, and I want to put gang together to take over Varrock ghettos. Its going to be fun to see the world in all out war and every corner is scary.

     

     

     

    If tip.it does take control of an area and were able to defend it I hope we quickly come up with a way to signal were tipiters other than "hyt" because that one is easy to decode.

     

     

     

    Good luck to p2p worlds I want to see them work. (Im working on my pure ownz str8 just to try them out)

    Item lending for only 24 hrs -.- , well i guess its ok I mean it would be nice to have longer but it might help people at clan wars give each other godswords for the fight... or better armor but I would really like longer times possible in the future. :pray:

  3. The problem isn't that there is more secondary trainers then primary, its that almost all of the secondary items stay in the marketplace after creation.

     

     

     

    Primary items can be sold right as you refine them. Once some 1 uses a primary item, that item doesn't exist anymore. With secondary items (Rune 2H from smithing as an example) it stays in the economy and nothing happens to it that will make the amount of Rune 2H's go down.

     

     

     

    Smithing used to make alot of money because there was no rune armor in economy. But now since there is there is no need for smithing because we already have the right amount and the act of creating more is unnecessary.

     

     

     

    Jagex really needs to fix this.

     

     

     

    Example of a fix that jagex could do is maybe create some type of "enchanted" armor/weapons. Where uses can use an item on the metal based (bronze, iron, steel, black, mith, addy, rune, dragon) and be able to make it be more effective. But a side effect of enchanting the armor is that it might be destroyed in the process of enchanting it. That way not only does armor and weapons into the economy from smithing, its also leaving the economy through enchanting.

     

     

     

    Jagex has done stuff to reduce this effect, recently with summoning they created a NPC that allowed you to trade your summoning pouches.

    We don't need to make some kind of armor/weapon that disappears after awhile to lessen the amount of items in economy because items are being passed on and disappear daily. Take for example the rune 2h. There are 2 ways this keeps cycling through economy and it is not becoming filled with too many rune 2hes.

     

     

     

    1. New players. Rs gets new players everyday and someday they all will be able to buy rune 2h new buyers = possible market.

     

     

     

    2. these weapons do disappear without needing to break/ enchanting destruction/ etc. It's called death. People die from a multitude of reasons and after they die they're weapons are gone or taken by someone else (bounty hunter). So do you know what this person has to do now? buy another rune scimmy/ rune 2h/ etc!. We DO NOT need to make something like your enchantment idea because these items are being constantly bought and lost everyday.

  4. i see what your saying but looking at some of your examples (namely herblore and fletching) you bought EVERYTHING according to your calculations. Now its my interpretation is that you shouldn't be able to purchase every raw material, make a product, and expect to make a profit because that would make it way too easy to level up these skills.

     

     

     

    Fletching,(yew longs) you can buy flax or yew logs or buy nothing and you'll make a profit.

     

    -Buy flax you'll make 500gp profit (flax is 90 each at post time)

     

    - buy logs = 400gp (400+gp at post time)

     

    - buy nothing = 600gp profit (this is assuming you are not alching them and sellin on GE)

     

    - buy everything = 80gp profit per bow.

     

     

     

    but if you want to alch, and expect to buy nats you won't make any profit purchasing all materials.

     

     

     

    Herblore- chaos druids people, and snape grass is easy to get on waterbirth island. (prayer pots)

     

    Sara brews- your going to have to buy birdsnest, but you can get toadflax from other places than buying.

     

     

     

    If you want to make money you have to be self-sufficent somewhere, and putting everything together does not count. If you want fast exp you can buy everything and lose money but if you aim is money then you can't rely on other people for everything.

  5. Sooner or later more and more people will gain more and more levels. Its how runescape works you can't be upset or put down achievements because other people who used to be below you are starting to rise up. This can lead to negative effects heres my example: My who friend showed me RS and after awhile my character beat his (who had huge jump on mine, 47 lvls). He ended up actually hacking me forcing me to create Coolcobra. Which still beat him :D .

     

     

     

     

     

    Now I can't say that achievements are as HARD as they used to be with many skills now have an "X" option but you can't stop progress. But an achievement doesn't exactly lose it's value because more have it. It still took those others that have that cape the same work and effort you put into it to obtain one. So with each person that gains the cape, the community gains more value because we can bring lots of hard working people into it and its a chain reaction!

     

     

     

    When one person gets the cape it inspires another to work towards an achievement and he/she inspires another and it keeps on going.

    Those are the top 5 FREE MMOs. And the free version of runescape really does suck.

     

     

     

    klutz maybe you haven't noticed, but unlike a lot of free versions of more advertised MMOs runescape's free version gives access to a lot, and has no level caps. In theory you can get lvl 99 in every skill (even mems if you get enough lamps).

     

     

     

    I personally don't like the whole Horde vs Alliance limits on WoW. I don't think its fair that i can't talk to a horde friend or alliance when your on other side. Takes away from having friends.

     

     

     

    Runescape is a fun game even when its free, and should be included in those list. It was a lot better with old way of pking but there will be a day where Jagex can fix up bounty hunter or new mini game that can give us the old thrill that pking did.

  7. I honestly don't think its as simple as "the strong adapt, the weak quit"

     

     

     

    I have left for periods of times and it was never just because of Jagex's bad update. I've left becuase i was hacked, and I've come back which does show something is keeping me in.

     

     

     

    There are two factors that i believe keep someone hooked to the game

     

     

     

    1. The liking of the game as a whole-

     

    If you only like one aspect and that is all (suck as pk-ing) then you are more inclined to leave either if it gets boring or Jagex changes it because these people won't be used to change.

     

     

     

    2. Your friends-

     

    Now this does not mean "the more friends you have the less chance you'll leave" It is the quality, not the quanity of your friends. If you and your friends are close knit (like mine) then you wont leave as often and if you do some "unknown" force draws you back. If you have truly good friends and you like them almost like you couldn't live without them you probably won't leave.

     

     

     

    Now i was close knit with my friends because i made most of them joining a clan that was close knit and everyone knew eachother. And now i truly miss those who stopped playing or left for whatever reason.

     

     

     

    Now of those who are staying and have played for maybe 6-1 year, at least, who have been in a clan or have tight nit friends that you constantly hang out with?

     

     

     

    But otherwise- I don't think it is a matter of "survival of the fittest"

    And each time i lose a lot then come back on my feet, but with my most recent hacking (7/29/07) I seem to have lost that lust to play...

     

     

     

    I lost a fair amount:

     

     

     

    - 1m cash

     

    - dragon square shield

     

    - 10 glory ammies

     

    - rune legs and 2 rune helms

     

     

     

    Alot less than previous ones but still never feels good.

     

     

     

    I'm jsut tryign to lose that "quit rs" feeling that I never really had before... can anyone help? (no donations plz)

  9. The "root" of the autoing problem is that ppl like runescape...

     

     

     

    some like it, but hate to do work so they use autoers or buy runescape gold that the autoer master got by using autoers

     

     

     

     

     

    the only "true" way to stop autoers is too make runescape an undersiable game to play (jagex is doing a good job making it for 3 yr olds by adding "X...." to everything. what next? "walk to X!")

     

     

     

    so either shut the game off or make it so horrible no one wants to play are the only "solutions" to autoing.

  10. What I really want to know is how people got more stupid over the ages. If they used to know how to make the strongest armor and weapons, how come we dont know how to make them now? Now we can only make rune, which is the noobiest of serious armor. In fact people barely wear it for serious combat.

     

     

     

    i'm sure humans didin't make it in first place... dwarves did then we ripped it fof them! (because you can take anything from short ppl and claim as your own!) jk- in case any short ppl are out there reading this

     

     

     

    but us "smarty" humans probably mined out all of the magical silver and killed all the white dragons... leaving none for the humans of today.

  11. I wish people would stop bashing on autoer's, because they are the secret runners of the RS economy. Where would all the fletchers be with 500gp yews, or the cookers be with 1.5k per raw shark? Eh, EH!?

     

     

     

     

     

    they would actually have to work harder... becasue if they fish/cut the materials themselves or work to make the money they are stil lworking!!!

     

     

     

     

     

    i dont care if a bronze axe was so expensive only zezima could afford if autoers didn't exist!! autors= plz go walk off a cliff! :twisted:

    2. never believe your friends about anything on rs.... never tell them you play!!!! and nvr, ever give any hints about your pass!!!

     

     

     

    3. lose some weight, learn to play football and still don't believe your friends you freaking r-tard!!!

  13. I went one and a half years before i got my first mime (fishing, and ever sicne then that's the only time i got mimes and always in fishing guild!!!)

  14. This game will not be right until all rares are made untradeable (or deleted) and all pure accounts are permanently banned.

     

     

     

     

     

    Please Jagex! Push the big red button next to you that says "Delete all Pures/ Destroy all Rares"!!!!! :pray:

     

     

     

     

     

    Note: You may not like that statement, but you know its true that rares and pures are a major reason the game is whacked out, besides autoers anyway.

    Instead of getting rid of rares al ltogether they should be kept tradeable... and scythe or others like that should also become tradeable!!!

    --- I would be tempted to tell myself not to trust my real life friends because they all hacked me at one time or another but if i didnt get hacked I wouldve never made coolcobra77 and such an awesome account lol.

     

     

     

     

     

    Id also tell myself when they get to use the time machine, plz go back too 200-2001 in the local library and go onto the computers and play rs... near christmas especially!!! get party hats and log off till 2005... then wait to 2007 and sell!
