What he wants is a desktop. A $1000 laptop will not be able to do 3D rendering, have a decent screen size and good battery life.
Well he's asking for a laptop. If he went for a desktop he can get a really good rendering pc around 800.

I am going to buy a laptop soon, and will probably use it for all of college. (Junior in HS atm). I need something with a good processor like i3/i5, dedicated graphics card (I plan on doing LOTS of 3D rendering), and around 500GB of storage. Microphone and webcam are not necessary, but helpful. The mouse does not matter; I will use my current one. Also, a large screen size + battery life would be nice.
Budget: $1000 USD
Also please try to see if I can get it on newegg i just love that site.
EDIT: What would be better, Core i3/5 (or AMD equivalent) or Core 2 Quad (or AMD equivalent)?
I was talking about those stupid 13" super cheap thingies. I don't mean 18" stuff id rather get a desktop if i wanted that.

A laptop that small usually is a netbook and can't go far for internal specs. The specs he asked for are usually in laptops 15" and up.

And post the links of the laptops you might want and we'll tell you if it's good.

I agree with you, Most modern models are built to withstand heat. "If" he chose to buy an older model then it's a different story, but he's most likely going to buy a newer model.
And Corsair is the way to go for PSUs. G Skill ram is also very good I have to say, I replaced my old Kingston DDR2 2gbs with two 4gb sticks of GSkill ram and overclocked the frequencies to 1200 (default 800Mhz). The heatsinks on the ram is pretty efficient and the cost was only 110 when I bought it.

I was suggesting budget psu's and video cards. If Nick wanted I could give a list of good and stable hardware which is a little bit more costly though.
I also wasn't saying that the video card might overheat. But constant idling at high temps can damage the video card and ultimately cause the video card to die.
By the way, those are some decent video cards sbrideau, I always buy from ASUS or EVGA.

I see what you're trying to say, but he only has the default cooling from the manufacturer and has no sort of aftermarket cooling. Geforce 250s+ can heat up pretty easily without the adequate cooling. Nick isn't in high end gaming so a 220/240 will last him for a while, not to mention it will cost him much less.

Hello Nick, You basically have the default integrated graphics that came with the computer. You can easily buy a card that's better than a 6150SE. Just make sure you have the adequate power supply to support a graphics card that needs a 6pin power connector.

Lol something that pisses me off is when you get your mom or dad to pay for your membership using credit card and like 5 months later they don't know what in the hell it is on their credit card bill they ask for a refund. Thus this will place negative credit on your account (pretty much banned) until you can get membership(some other way) enough for the amount your parents refunded. My first main Jjgansta which is still searchable through hiscores currently has 20$ negative credit on it I just consider that account banned. Another reason why JAGeX SHOULD sell membership cards. But I guess pre-paid works the same.

Well I guess its true this also enables sweatshops to be able to access members much easier for yews and such to sell for real life money. So JAGeX Prolly won't sell them. Ok pre-paid cards here I come. :XD:

Don't be so doggone paranoid of the kids. They have as much a right to play this game as an adult has.
Anyway, I don't think it'd be a good idea. Namely because of how easy it would be to get these cards into the hands of those that seek to sell RS gold online...this would only make it easier for them.
I know there are some kids that aren't annoying but still runescape was meant for ages 12+.

You know like Nexon did with NX Cash cards. Except this is with JAGeX. If they ever make it I would be glad so I don't have to bother my bro for his credit card again. It could be sold at walmarts, targets, etc. But there is a problem with membership cards. Since its so much easier to get membership the underage "kids" who constantly beg for you stuff will be able to get members easier too. Should JAGeX sell them or not?

I currently own a rune platebody and is thinking about getting Granite but Granite is so much more expensive just for 3 more stats better just wondering should I get granite plate or just get Torags Platebody and Legs?

Well I don't think JAGeX do really care about F2P since its P2P's money they are getting so they tend to care more about P2P so the members can stay and JAGeX would probably care more about the macros in P2P than F2P. Like ALL updates are done for members except holiday stuff so no I don't think they leave them in F2P to encourage F2P members although I think it can work.

Ok then I'm sorry for sounding biased I didn't know what way to put it. And also sorry for not providing examples for my last statement, but I'm was never saying I hated catholicism I just don't agree with some of their teachings.That's ok. I never said that you hated it either. However, priests making mistakes, Catholics sinning, etc. aren't good examples of their teaching. I really don't know much about Catholicism, and I don't want to get into the gritty little details of denominations (I consider Catholicism a denomination), so maybe start your own topic to discuss Catholicism.

Well I don't know much about catholicism ethier I just know they have a much strict view on sinners and comdemption. And not focus on what God is really about.

Well there is a free trial verion for Sony Vegas only problem is It doesn't work for me.
Camtasia studio IS a movie maker .... It always comes with the screen recorder if I'm correct so just press F1 to read the help file the next time you start it up
I've tryed it, it sucks it doesn't have a lot of features.
I still need more suggestions.

Well I'm just trying to say that catholicism is still a very corrupted religion I mean some of their priest have sex with boys that is just plain wrong.Let me teach you something about arguments/discussions. If you provide examples to prove an idea, you must use representative examples which can represent the people you talk about as a whole. Your argument is biased in that it only puts up mistakes that a few corrupt people have made. That does not and cannot mean that Catholicism itself is bad.

I think members are worth it beacause it has a lot more features than F2P there has been so many recent updates for members Dragon boots, Dragon full helm, Mith Dragons, GWD, God Swords. So yeah I think its worth it and about the payment problem hehe its only 5$ Lol I don't care I don't even pay for it.

Uhhhhhhhh I have Camtasia but sadly no windows movie maker because my operating system is windows 2000 so no movie maker came with it. Just wondering does any know any other video editing programs I can use to edit my rs videos with?
P.S: I tryed Sony Vegas it doesn't work

Rubik's cube was hard the first time i got it. I attempted to do all sides which I've failed to do without proper knowledge how to do the darn cube so ask brother for advice he told me techniques and soon in a week I was able to complete it in about 10 mins. There after I just attempt to get a better time everytime I do it.
Current Best Time: 1 min 3 secs
I will update time when I get better time.

Yes that computer has a very decent processor and the video card is quite good. You'll get about 200+ fps in most modern games with that laptop.
