  1. Ok, so I'm back from uni for my 11 week summer holiday! \/

Haven't played RS for months now, and wondering what is good to train at the moment, and an brief outline of important updates would be appreciated.

I am f2p, and I just want to know what I should do. I enjoy skilling, and would most like to get my crafting level up, as well as any other skills (including combat), though I don't know which ones (suggestions on this please?)

    Levels:

    Mining: 85

    Smithing: 84

    WC: 90

    Cooking: 95

    FM: 81

    Fishing: 88

    Crafting: 73

    Runecrafting: 68

    Dungeoneering: 68

    Strength: 85

    Attack: 40

    Defence: 3

    Magic: 86

    Range: 89

I have 20M available if needed, but don't want to splash out too much of this, as the market is so unpredictable atm. I prefer splashing out evenly over my skills.

    Thanks!

  2. OK thanks for the help, would you suggest buying around 10k iron ores and using them all in AW if I was looking for the most cost effective method? And what part of the workshop should I do? All I've really seen of it is the top floor.

And what the the item callouts mean? I guess there's some sort of reward for doing the right things?

    Thanks once again

  3. I am F2P and currently have 80 smithing, which I would like to get to 90.

What are the options I have, and what would you recommend?

All of my stats are pretty high, so I don't have too much problem in terms of options for money making (though obviously limited by the bots).

I also don't mind mining any ore, except for coal at the moment, as I find coal mining has been ruined by the reintroduction of free trade.

I checked out the Artisian workshop today, is this worth doing? What is the best way to train in it at high levels?

I have an available 10m to spend if this helps, though I'm not one to spend all this on steel or mith bars to smith and go up maybe 2 levels. I prefer to be more cost-effective and self-sufficient, though not to the point at which I am spending more time than its worth.

It would be nice to have a range of ideas and any help I can get and see which suits me best.

And I will not buy membership.

    Thanks

  4. thanks for the help guys, i have started camping in the SoS with the minotaurs, as there is normally a constant supply of bones (so no need to spend money buying them, just in case anyone else wanted help on this as well), and other things like iron arrows and rune essence, and its not too bad there. with lvl 3 defence i didn't fancy going to the wilderness, and in just over an hour i managed to get 12% of the way there. definitely would consider membership if i was going for a much higher level though!

  5. sounds like that could be useful. i need 45 prayer though for the hard tasks, and i think that im only 33 prayer at the moment. are there any good ways of training this? im guessing the hill giant dungeon would be best?

  6. im not becoming a member. ive got good enough skills from playing for free, and membership would ruin that value. i just want to know the best new ways to train things. membership would also make me feel like i had to play as much as possible for a month and i have important exams in 3 months

  7. Ok, so I'm back from uni for my 7 week easter holiday! \:D/

I see there have been smithing and crafting updates, plus the second-coming of the wilderness and free trade, and the collapse of the grand exchange.

I am f2p, and I just want to know what I should do. I enjoy skilling, and would most like to get my smithing and crafting levels up, as well as any other skills, though I don't know which ones (suggestions on this please?)

    Crafting: 72

    Runecrafting: 68

    Dungeoneering: 63

In short, what would be the best way to train smithing and crafting? (Do the new updates help at my level?)

Also, I have 20M available if needed, but don't want to splash out too much of this, as the market is so unpredictable atm. (Gutted that the 26k raw lobs i bought expecting a rise with the new wilderness, actually fell by so much)

    Thanks!

  8. ok, i was just wondering if anyone knows the reason for the sky-high price of full sara?

i bought it on my main for around 3 million a while back, and now i see its price is around 4.6million.

also, is anyone good at predicting whether the price will continue to rise or if it is almost at its peak.

    thanks

    "L"

i belive this cam from an emoticon on msn or something, which is annoying little laughing face. most people save it as ":L" as this is easy to do with the two buttons being next to each other on the keyboard... and trust me, i feel your pain more than anyone else. some people use it after every sentence on instant messenger, even when what they say isnt funny or isnt meant to be funny. it really grinds my gears when people do that.

worst still, is when people put lots in a row... :L:L:L:L:L:L meaning "lol"x6 for example.

it hurts my eyes to look at this

  9. no one is on it, seeing as i've been home alone for the last 6 or 7 hours and the content on that computer is minimal, as it was only recently totally rebooted, so little has been downloaded on it yet, and there are not many programmes on it (though i believe the amount of programmes installed is irrelevant)

  10. i believe strength is slightly faster than attack or defence, as you hit marginally higher when on an "aggressive" style of attack. since your experienced gained is proportional to the damage you deal, this would make strength slightly faster to train, though there is barely anything in it.

  11. router for wireless. we have 2 computers connected, but i dont think that is important, as most of the time both have been used at the same time, and i never used to experience this problem so frequently

  12. standard detail, only programme running is firefox...

if this helps with any ideas, i kept losing connection for the last 20 minutes, but stayed logged on (as im at the flesh crawlers) however, they just turned unaggressive and i lost connection again, so this time it went back to the screen that appears when you log in, that says "click here to play" and "tip of the week" and all that, and is running smoothly as ever... why didn't it do this from the start?

  13. normally my game runs smoothly on firefox, but recently i have been losing connection more often. and in some cases, (like now for example) i cant keep connection for any longer than a few seconds. i cleared my cache yesterday, and all other websites are very fast, on my new laptop with fast internet... but i just keep losing connection, which is really frustrating, and i was wondering what on earth the problem could be, as i only experience the 2 extremes of perfect running of the game, and constantly losing connection... there seems to be nothing in between.

    any ideas? thanks

  14. Amon Amarth: Cry of the Blackbirds, twilight of the thunder god, beheading of a king

Megadeth: Prince of Darkness, 99 ways to die, architecture of aggression, the world needs a hero, die dead enough

Children of Bodom: are you dead yet, children of decadence, knuckleduster, in the shadows, kissing the shadows, sixpounder

In Flames: take this life, crawl through knives

Metallica: disposable heroes, for whom the bell tolls, ride the lightning, seek and destroy

    Iron Maiden: the trooper, paschendale

    Blind Guardian: welcome to dying

System of a Down: chop suey!

Prince of Darkness by Megadeth is by far the most obvious one to use. if you know the song, youll probably agree

  15. as some people said, hiding is a point of the game. i do it all the time because im 1 defence, and i probably win over 90% of rounds i play. the times when i dont win seem to be against another hiders who use these tactics rather than standing in the middle with protection prayers expecting to win, which tend to be the higher level players. its fun surprising people like that
