  1. Dear Player,

We have strong evidence that you may have purchased and used botting software in the past, specifically Botting software.

Botting and the cheating it brings is destroying your game, violates Jagex's rights under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and any player that continues to engage in botting activity has no place in our community.

As part of bot nuke week we are offering you a 1 time amnesty and settlement lifeline, which is a chance to reform and change your ways. We'd like you to contribute to the community in a positive way, to compete on a level playing field as everyone else does and play in the true spirit of the game, with integrity. All of your accounts, main and otherwise, are now on our watch list and will be monitored for the use of ibot and all other inappropriate third-party software. Regardless of who you are or how long you've been with us, if you decide to cheat and bot ever again we will have no hesitation in: (1) permanently removing your account from our wonderful community in order to protect Jagex's rights under the DMCA, and (2) naming you as a defendant in Jagex Limited v. John Does, which is a lawsuit based on DMCA violations that is currently pending in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California (Civ. Action No. SACV11-00969-CJC).

Please note that this amnesty and settlement offer is protected under Fed. R. Evid. 408. If you ignore our offer and instead continue use botting software, we reserve our rights to pursue statutory damages against you for between $200 to $2,500 per act of past, present, and/or future botting in accordance with 17 U.S.C. 1203©(3).

We do hope you make the morally sound and lawful choice of turning your back on bots. We look forward to seeing you in game having fun in a way that is true to the spirit of fair play and respectful to your fellow players.

Doesn't seem like it, as my account still has 0 black marks according to to runescape.com.

  2. Personally, I'd try mining iron near that deposit box in one of those DG rescource dungeons. Mainly because I find banking stuff a much easier way to clear my inventory then right clicking and dropping 28 items >_>

What DG level does it require? I hate the skill with a passion, so if it's higher than 50 I can't do it.

  3. People wearing rose-tinted glasses. Drunk on nostalgia. The idiots who say "oh in 2006 the game was so wonderful and nice there was no bots and no scamming and everyone loved each other"

I played in 2006, and I remember how it was back then. IT SUCKED.

In 2006, there were still scammers, even moreso than there are now. W2 Fally was FULL of scammers (most were stupid and unsuccessful, though). There were still trolls and immature idiots who ran around begging for money and trying to scam. They always existed, and they don't exist any more now than they did then.

As for bots, they're nothing new! Back in 2006, if you went to the yew trees in varrock or edgeville on any free world, you'd see 50+ level 3 bots there! I'm not denying there has been a bot influx with the reintroduction of free trade, but what I'm trying to say is that it's nothing new.

  4. I've been running around allotment/herb/flower patches at level 46 farming. I plant strawberries, limpwurt, and ranarrs. A few questions...

    1. At 47 should I start planting watermelons?

    2. Limpwurts are the best flower to plant forever, right?

    3. At 62, should I continue planting Ranarrs or move on to Snapdragons? After doing price research it seems Snapdragons are only more profitable if you luck out and get 7+ in one planting.

  5. 2006 was the period where I played RS the most. My activity declined a lot in 2007 and completely quitting just before 2008. I just started again a few weeks ago, and the game just doesn't feel the same. It's still great and I still enjoy playing it, but it just doesn't feel the same as it did in 2006. For anyone else who's been playing since then, how do you feel about current RS vs. 2006 RS?
