  1. ok, here are some real life examples:

    copper+ tin= bronze

glass= soda ash (cooked seaweed) and sand

    leather is from dead cows

    milk comes from dairy cows

scarecrows are used to keep crows away from cornfields (thats probably a myth anyways)

ghosts won't pass on to the next world if they still need to do something in this world (also, the proof of ghosts existing is debatable)

archeologists digging up artifacts from the past to help explain human history (Varrock Museum, Dig Site)

    nasturtiums protect watermelons from disease

The Grand Exchange acting like the commodities market in the Stock Exchange

pathfinding (finding the quickest route to your destination)

    spinning flax into bowstrings

making compost from weeds or rotting fruit

I'm sure there are more, these are just the ones I can think of right now...

  2. I'm sure that maintaining all those servers and paying their java programmers to code their game costs them money and 5.99 per per person a month may not cover all of their expenses to justify unnecessary advertising.

besides that, people looking over your shoulder asking "hey, what game is that?" is plenty of advertising for Runescape.

  3. Updated once again!

I had to remove some rooms because I forgot about my 25 room limit

by all means, put the chapel next to the entrance portal. Just remember that the portal rooms only have one doorway and need to be placed on the outer edge of your house.

  4. [hide=]

I was thinking of putting my two portal rooms next to my entrance as well...until i realized how many law runes i'd waste #-o

i put the chapel and the kitchen on both sides of my living room, because that's the first thing i do when i teleport to my house.

A waste? Certainly not! Portal rooms are the most useful rooms in the house, doubly so when you're on Lunar or Ancient magics. I've been on Lunar for a month now, and I have 2 portal rooms (with all portals but Lumbridge). Its been an incredible convenience to have them, and well worth the 900 laws it took to make. All you'd need is some house teletabs and your portal rooms and you'll never miss not being able to teleport on other spellbooks!

well it IS a waste now that I already activated 6 portals....you do realize that you don't get those runes back when you destroy the room and move it somewhere else, do you?

[/hide]I had my portal rooms within a couple weeks of Construction's release, and have used them HUNDREDS of times since. I have never had to move them. It's ridiculous to argue that such a small initial cost of 900 laws isn't worth such long-term convenience.

well the thing is, my first portal room is all the way on the other end of my house. which is three rooms by four rooms. the seond portal is next to my dining room, which is only three rooms from my entrance. the portal over on the end of my house takes awhile to get to, even on run.

i was thinking of a better teleportation hub...if you are allowed to remove the first room that you are given...

kitchen<------->skill hall with mounted Glory (where first room is now)<------>chapel

    -

    -

    teleport room 1<----------->entrance<-----teleport room2

whereas the kitchen leads to the rest of the house.

  5. Does anyone know of monsters that drop items that are worth a lot? I need at least 1 that's under lvl 40. Any ideas?

    Giants

Moss Giants (nature runes, law runes, steel bars, big bones)

Giant Cockroaches (lvl 83 drops rune sqaureshield)

    Ankous (drop noted mith ore)

    Minotuars (noted essance)

    Lesser Demons (rune Med helm)

    skeletons (sometimes drop law runes)

...that's about it. You might want to consider getting membership and start slayer assignments.

  7. Waterfall quest will unlock the ones in the waterfall dungeon great for ranging, or melee. Or you can just go to taverly, but you will be constantly attacked by wild dogs.

there are NO wild dogs in Taverly...you must be thinking of Brimhaven. bring 1k gold and an axe.

also, if you aren't afraid of revanents, that cave near the Mage Arena has some Fire Giants in it.

the place that I kill them is in Smoke Dungeon. You need to start Desert Treasure to get in, though.

  8. I just want to confirm that you CAN go from a quest/skill hall to dungeon stairs, I have done this in my own house.

I would also recommend putting your altar and portals as close to the house entrance as possible. its very convenient!

in addition, your house plan seems to be a bit random, as if it'd be hard to remember. You might want to consider re-designing it to make the shape more geometric.

  9.

So, since your smithing is level 72, I assume you do all you melee fighting in mithril armor with a mithril weapon (or, possibly, an adamant dagger or mace), that you made yourself, right? Because if you buy things to help you train, that's cheating! Yeah, sounds stupid, doesn't it? So does getting to 99 prayer without buying bones.

buying weapons and armour doesn't count. For all you know, I could've fletched my way to lvl 80 and high-alch the bows to get the money (which I did). I didn't buy a single bow and I increased fletching while I was at it to raise the money for my whip/rune/dragon armour.

and getting your bones from the dragons you kill yourself doesn't make you look stupid...it makes you richer.

It certainly doesn't make you richer if you use them all up yourself.

sigh...you use the bones you get from the dragons. Are you forgetting that you also get dragonhide/bars AND another item for your kill?....apparently so.

  11. I was in the warriors guild with the ring of wealth on and I wasnt getting pot when I was killing cyclops. I popped in on my second run and I got a bronze defender. The next go I was still wearing it and I recieved two defenders, iron and steel almost right after eachother.

that is my little escapade which got me thinking about it

I think it would've taken longer to get my two rune defenders without my ring o wealth. Also, those two rune ones dropped within the same minute that I was fighting cyclops for.

  12. Pagan religions are technically any religion other than Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. So yes, it's a bit of an umbrella term.

which is why the rest of the world hates christianity.

Actually a lot of the world loves Christianity, due to the fact that most Christians are polite.

While athiests are one of the most untrusted groups in the world.

actually most of the world hates America, which claims to be a christian nation. and everybody else hates hearing "believe the way we do or go to hell!" all the time.

(and America is really consisted of many religions, not just the one popularizaed by American culture)

  13. To my understanding, pagans are anything other than the followers of Christ. There have been alot of pagan religions started after Christianity. Are they not pagan?

by what you just said, you've just proved to everybody reading this what an ignorant fool you really are. :wall:

  14. It's not really paganistic. Paganism is to do with nature and gods commanding each element of and it and ritual sacrifice etc.

The runescape gods don't really reflect these qualities

If anything saradomin and guthix reflect christinity (churches etc) and druidism most closely.

Its stupid to try and apply real world religion to rs though. EVERY good fantasy world has its own religions setup based on thier own rituals and gods, it is however inevitable certain features relfect reality. Why? because thats the frame of reference. If your making a holy building or a holy ritual yor are going to base it on what you see in the real world from religion whether that means it relfects pagan styles, christian churches, muslim mosques or w/e

The issue is everyone WANTS to classify these things in terms they know, as such they see these things and are like oh they aren't christian or muslim or budist or w/e. Then most people just think oh many gods = paganism and therefore decide everything that isn't one of the big modern religions regardless of it being a fantasy or not is paganism. When in reality paganism is far more defined than most modern religions and most, if not all of them have stolen pagan festivals for thier own celebrations eg christmas was a pagan festival originally

this last paragraph is very much true. (i'm not arguing with the rest you said either)

I'd also add that Christianity is the most biggoted, ignorant, hate-filled religions on the planet and a response such as "not christian= Pagan" doesn't surprise me one bit.
